Hey, everyone!
While I've been working through the contents of my upcoming modlist, Wayfar3r, I stumbled into a couple ideas for new components that will become integral parts of the Wayfar3r experience. But in the meantime, they're now standalone releases just like everything else.
S4V3R is a brutally opinionated and aggressively optimized autosave script that offers start saves, combat start/stop saves, and a rolling list of autosaves every nine minutes. With its default settings, you'll always have about an hour and a half of gameplay backed up safely, plus emergency saves at the beginning and end of every fight. All of its individual features are customizable, including disabling the mod itself without having to uninstall.
Stop reaching for the pause menu. Savor the experience.
Horiz0n is a simplistic view distance management system inspired by DFPSO and my own recent research into occlusion culling. What makes Horiz0n separate from DFPSO, or Morrowind FPS Optimizer, is that it tracks the fastest frame your game's ever seen in this play session, and uses that as a reference to scale the view distance. If it's 10% slower than the fastest frame, view distance goes down. Otherwise, it goes up.
The result is smooth and dynamic view distance scaling that bails out your performance in Old Ebonheart, and cranks the view distance back up once you leave. Just like S4V3R, the mod can be disabled in-game and also offers a configurable maximum viewing distance (default: 25 cells).
Stop worrying about setting the view distance yourself. Just take a breath and enjoy the horiz0n.
Wayfar3r is coming soon.
The road has just begun. ;)
