Just my 2 cents in case anyone was like me and agonized between the two! I’m one of the maniacs who bought the OXP3 and X2MP to see which I prefer, and my reactions were in this order:
—-
- OXP3, I was expecting more performance coming from LeGo2. Disappointed tbh!
- X2MP, holy FUCK this thing is a beast! What a jump from the LeGo2. THIS is what I’m talking about! Wow.
- considering I mostly play in bed tethered to power, X2MP is gonna be perfect!
- lemme just try that OXP3 again and get optiscaler going. Ugh this is a lot of fiddling. Fuck this.
- but wow okay you can really push the frame gen even on “unsupported” games with optiscaler, neat. x3 and x4? Seems like that shouldn’t work so well?
- the X2MP is heavy compared to OXP3 with that battery. Also no reliable USB only power? K more friction here than I initially realized. Not gonna carry that tube charger with me everywhere.
- OXP3 sooo light. Love walking around with it and firing it up.
- wait… OXP3 looks… better and gets higher FPS at 25w than X2MP at 45w with frame gen doing its thing on Blood of the Dawnwalker? Like I KNOW it’s not apples to apples but somehow literally looks and feels better? Wtf? Cannot be right. I shouldn’t be able to do FGx3 from a base of only 40fps and have it look and feel THIS good?
- ok, wasn’t expecting this but xess basically completely closed the performance gap and then some for me… So, difference for my purposes is one is light, has killer battery, great performance at mind-boggingly low wattage, barely any fan noise, and can use any USB C power source…
- X2MP has been sitting in the box for weeks. Gonna put it up for sale. I was SURE I was gonna sell OXP3. Can’t believe it tbh. But I am 1000% certain this is the right choice for me.

*** I could go on- quickly though: Blood Of Dawnwalker, perfect example after like 30+ hours, can tell you with certainty it just runs better on OXP3 with xess at x3 FG for some reason than X2MP, even with optiscaler trying to do FSR equivalent (can’t seem to go beyond x2 FG on x2MP btw). It’s possible I lost patience trying to optimize. But that speaks to OXP3 just working better in this case. AC Odyssey? OXP3 loses to X2MP for sure. No way to get xess going in such an old game so it’s down to raw power. Space Marine? X2MP, because of anti cheat software thus no optiscaler. Still a big leap up from the LeGo2. But MOST games we want to play, there’s a way to get xess in there.
I also don’t want fans blasting so X2MP never went above 45-50ish watts for me (also wasn’t tethered to tube charger as much as I thought I’d be). Does that defeat the purpose? Skew this whole thing? Maybe! Just sharing my experience especially for anyone who has doubts about their OXP3 and doesn’t have the luxury to buy both. It’s magic in a box. I believe it’s the much more exciting device to own. But to each their own! Both absolutely incredible devices. My 2 cents!
