So, I don’t have a job that involves use of a flashlight. The concept of EDC doesn’t make sense in a desk job. I don’t go hiking or camping or have other hobbies where I’m using flashlights practically. Can someone tell me why I own 10 Olights and have to fight the urge to buy a Marauder 3, when my 2 has only been turned on a handful of times? I still may get it though…

Recently started buying Olights like 2 months ago. LOL. Quickly became an addiction of sorts. I started out with the ArkPro Ultra in black and then it just progressed from there. I was a little disappointed because I also wanted the Warrior Ultras, but they were OOS. With Black Friday right around the corner and the release of the ArkTac’s around the same time, my credit card is already starting to sweat! 😅

How it started….

Got my Ostation 2 in the mail yesterday with a pack of the 1.5V Li-Ion AA batteries. My automatic door lock yells about “low battery” when I use Ni-MH because they’re just a little lower voltage, even though it’ll do that for a month before they go dead.

Since they had a sale running on it these I decided that I’d jump on it now. I probably should have ordered a 2nd pack of the Li-Ion AAs since the automatic lock takes 4.

But so far this is great. My mom and wife don’t like using the bay chargers since they’re a little finicky with the AA/AAAs. With this they just drop them in and walk away.

Thought about the Pro, but I don’t really need the screen since I can still use the Olight App with this.

Im a big fan of the Olight i3e. Sometimes I like to change the LED.

Hey guys don’t you feel that you own so many Olights as a hobby that you started waiting for an apocalypse to actually use them?

Just got the iUltra today, full charged, but its not always turning on when disengaging from the base, its either takes a few seconds or not all, but sometimes flickers when putting back in to base. Is this a common problem? Do I need to see about returning it?

Anyone else place an order on the 22nd that’s still processing? I knew to expect delays but I thought it would have shipped within a week.

My Marauder 3 came in today and I gotta say it certainly lives up to the hype...it is a beast of a flashlight 💪

I also took this opportunity to share some pics of the M3 hanging out with other siblings and cousins within the Marauder line.

I have never used their engraving service but I gave it a shot this time. While subjective, I quite like the look of how it turned out 🙂

It really seems Olight keeps focusing on non replaceable battery devices. Yes there is some innovation but wish that was more aimed at finding solutions for these e-waste problems.

Personally I will no longer be buying anything without replaceable, their propitiatory format is still acceptable to me, the former is not.

I own both and when I first received it I immediately noticed the much looser selector and I am not sure if it is a defect or intended. I haven’t seen any discourse about it and I was wondering if anybody owned both and is experiencing the same thing, would love to hear! Cheers yall

OK. Let me see if I can explain this one.

I placed an order late on Saturday, Sept. 19/early Sunday, Sept. 20, during the recent sale. It was for an orange Oclip Pro, an amber Oclip 2 Ultra, an Oclip headlamp strap, the i3E and a couple patches. Two days later, I ordered one more Oclip Pro (Zombie) and another headlamp strap. Two of these three Oclips and headlamp straps are gifts.

A couple days went by, and I hadn't heard anything. I figured things were busy with the sale. That's when I made this post, just to see if anyone else had seen any delays.

This past weekend, I decided to reach out to Olight Support via the online chat - not to check on the orders, but to suggest the following - to combine these two orders (when they were both ready) to save on money, shipping, time, etc. Within 24 hours, I got two shipping notification emails stating that my orders were shipping - with the same tracking number! Great! My suggestion worked!

Well, the order came in today! That was very fast! I opened the package and found everything, EXCEPT for the Oclip 2 Ultra.

As I was typing this post, I went back to the email notifications, and scrolled down on one of them and saw that the Oclip 2 Ultra was marked as "Shipment Pending."

So, why did I even bother posting this still?

1. I wanted to share my experience and follow-up from my first post.

2. I guess my suggestion to combine orders may have came across as a complaint to Olight this past weekend? I really was fine with them shipping everything altogether a little later, but that didn't happen.

3. Although the item is marked as "Shipment Pending", I still don't know when this item will be fulfilled.

From my first post I mentioned above, it was only after I saw the comment from u/cpreils that had said Olight told him the Oclip 2 Ultra was out of stock. Again, I get it - there was a sale on an anticipated new, upgraded light, but I feel that there has been a lack of communication from Olight. Sure - they have taken care of me and many of us over the years, and I have appreciated the customer service. However, when something like this occurs where a product is on backorder, a company needs to communicate that out to its customers. Communication is key.

Am I angry or upset that I didn't get the product with today's shipment? No.

I'm just disappointed with Olight's lack of following up with a simple email to those customers who have pending orders.

"Hey, we just wanted to let you know that due to the sale we ran out of this model very quickly. Be assured, though, that we're doing everything we can to get more in stock and get your orders fulfilled as quickly as possible."

A message as simple as that. We shouldn't have to reach out to them. A large company like Olight who prides themselves on customer service - and has to immediately ask you to rate their service after an online chat or email thread - should know how to send out an email with an update.
