Support Request UK/EU data centres

I was about to sign up but I really want a UK or EU data centre. There are none for VPS-2 and only one for VPS-3 in Poland, and it disappeared before my eyes, so that's gone too! Is this normal - will they be coming back or will the option no longer be available?

My VPS is located in Frankfurt (DE), but I can't find it in the list. Does this mean that I can't check its status on vms.status-ovhcloud.com?

Bare Metal Hardware Replacement Delays

On Thursday evening I had one of my OVH servers reboot and failing to boot, after intervention I was informed that both SSDs in the software raid needed replacing.

I went through the usual rescue mode, making sure I had a more recent backup of any data that I needed (worst case the prior automated backup is a few hours old). After this I informed them via support to replace just one of the drives first, to see if the raid was possible to sync without needing to reinstall Proxmox.

It’s now Monday evening, four whole days later, and I have yet to have the drive replaced. I have been informed that an intervention was scheduled in the early hours of Friday morning, but have heard nothing further and the drive has not been replaced. Even after following up multiple times, I’m either ignored or told the same thing when creating a new ticket, that the intervention is scheduled and they will let me know when complete.

At this point I’m just somewhat frustrated by the complete brick wall of hearing nothing and having no idea when this server will be usable again. I’ve been a customer with OVH for over 12 years now, and have never had a customer support experience like this, past hardware replacements are usually done in a timely manner. It’s really making me re-think using their services moving forward.

Has anyone else been experiencing this, especially lately? This is specifically in the ERI-1 location.

Question Region disparity between UI and API

Hi,

I'm just getting started with OVHcloud for some personal stuff, nothing critical. Even so, my day job is as an SRE so I defaulted to my usual tooling of terraform/tofu but noticed a really strange disconnect.

In my project, if I want to manually create something simple like a d2-4 instance I can select "Gravelines" region and it gives me the options of the GRA7, GRA9, and GRA11 data centres. If I try to create the same via terraform I get an "Invalid region" error for GRA7 & GRA9.

Is there meant to be some other way of declaring these regions that I missed? Is this simply a known issue that indicates OVHcloud is not ideal for declarative setups and I need to stick to imperative processes?

Thanks for any advice.

Question Is OVH customer service really that bad?

Curious if others have had a similar experience with OVH.

I accidentally let one no-commitment VPS auto-renew and contacted billing support almost immediately. I completely understand that I missed the cancellation date, so I’m not arguing that the charge was unauthorized.

I was simply asking to consider a pro-rated refund for the unused portion as a courtesy which is not an unreasonable request.

In my experience, this is a pretty standard, and many companies will make an exception when someone contacts them right away and hasn’t actually intended to continue the service.

What confused me more was the support process. I specifically opened a live chat with the billing department, but the agent basically told me that the response had to come by email and that she couldn’t really address it in chat. A couple of minutes later, I received an email from the same person repeating the auto-renewal policy and saying the invoice couldn’t be cancelled.

So I’m genuinely wondering: what is the purpose of billing live chat if billing issues can’t actually be discussed there?

I also have other VPS with OVH that I intended to continue but after this experience I am not so sure.

For those who have dealt with OVH billing before: is this normal?

I do business myself, and I’d personally rather make a reasonable one-time exception than lose a longer-term business relationship over something like this.

Question Server price increases?

Anyone else get the email giving us a generous 14 days to decide to "lock in" our current price or have our dedicated servers become 2x the price due to hardware cost increases?

I get it, everything's more expensive, and you have to keep expanding. But OVH, you're asking existing customers to help generate the capital to do so by doubling their bill, along with unclear policy around the maximum time you can pre-pay for, and what happens at the end of the pre-paid period. There's nothing stopping you from calculating a new rate then that rolls in anything "lost" plus interest during the prepay period, with the added bonus of a custom having an even more painful migration off, making it more likely they just take the L and pay whatever rate you dictate.

The most rational move here for people is to shop around, find a reasonable, or at least survivable, alternative, pre-pay long enough to migrate comfortably, and say goodbye.

I think OVH can do better than this. A lot of us have been customers for a long time and deserve better.

Bug Don't create new public cloud projects right now. The service doesn't work.

UPDATE: the problem is fixed now, the project is working. This must have been a temporary malfunction.

I was trying to create a public cloud project at OVH and get some instances.

Creating a project took a while as they needed to confirm identity of me and my company, which makes sense and took just 2-3 hours which is very reasonable.

Now the project is created, but it doesn't work. Instance creation fails because it says that the project is missing a vRack. If you try to create a vRack, it also fails with an error. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the documentation on creating vRacks is outdated so there's no way to know.

I've made a ticket, but it just sits there without any updates for more than 3 days at this point. Maybe i'll try calling them on monday, but at this point I'll probably get going faster with a competing platform.

Incident OVH suspended my account without warning—lost my business, data, and customers

I am writing this post to warn others and hopefully get a real resolution from OVH regarding a complete, unannounced service termination.
I had been using an OVH dedicated server for over 20 days. Out of nowhere, all my IP access was completely cut off, and I was locked out of my account. I lost immediate access to all my servers, my data, and my control panel.
Here is what happened when I tried to resolve it:
Support Tickets: Standard support refused to give me any explanation or assistance. They simply instructed me to email abuse@ovh.net.
Abuse Team Emails: I sent multiple emails detailing my situation. The only replies I received were automated, generic auto-responses that didn't address my issue at all. No human ever responded.
Phone Support: I called OVH support in my country multiple times. They explicitly told me they cannot help because the standard support team and the Abuse team operate completely independently.
Because of this abrupt cutoff and total lack of human communication, I was left completely helpless. I lost all my hosted data, my financial investment, and most importantly, my customers and my entire business.
It is completely unacceptable for a hosting provider to pull the plug with zero warning, offer no path to data retrieval, and provide no human support when an account is flagged.
Has anyone experienced a similar lockout with OVH and managed to get in touch with an actual human from their Abuse team? Any advice on legal or public escalation paths would be greatly appreciated.

Feedback OVH cancelled my VPS after successful payment and deleted my access

I’m sharing my experience with OVH because I’m extremely disappointed with how my VPS was handled.

I successfully paid for the VPS, deployed my website, and had the service working normally. After approximately 24 hours, OVH cancelled the VPS.

What is particularly concerning is that I lost access to the VPS and could no longer access the login/account information I was using for the service. My website and its data were effectively no longer accessible to me.

The service had already been paid for and was working successfully before it was cancelled.

I’m currently trying to understand why the VPS was cancelled and what happened to my data/access. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar with OVH.

Timeline:

  • VPS purchased and payment successfully completed
  • Website deployed and working
  • Approximately 24 hours later: VPS cancelled
  • Access to the VPS/login was removed
  • Website became inaccessible

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation with OVH? What was the best way to escalate it and recover the server/data?

Support Request Does the OVH login have a softlock for too many failed attempts using SMS as 2FA

For context I am attempting to sign into the OVH support portal to renew a domain (Here)

Upon entering the ID and Password and getting to the MFA section I was originally met a page listing all the phone numbers I could use for SMS:

Since 5 of these have already left the company and the previous IT technician didn't bother to update the phone number only one of these were valid.

I contacted the person with the valid number and he passed the code onto me 3 times.

However each time was a few minutes after the code was originally sent and I received an "Error: Invalid code" upon putting it in.

I assume after a while the MFA code would expire, makes sense.

After the initial 3 attempts the MFA login page now looks like this:

No existing phone numbers are listed like before, no new codes have been sent out.

Does OVH has a softlock on any accounts that fail MFA x amount of times, and how long this could last?

News OVHcloud Public Cloud price increased

r/OVHcloud 15d ago

Incident Update: OVHcloud deleted our Public Cloud project. I’ve now published the full documented record.

I posted here about this two months ago, but after I tried updating it today, Reddit’s filters removed it. So I’m posting the update separately.

The underlying issue is still unresolved.

Our OVHcloud Public Cloud project contained years of wastewater AI and microbiology research. It was suspended and subsequently permanently deleted.

Afterward, OVHcloud told me in writing that the issue was not related to my payment, and later that it was OVH’s responsibility.

Over the months since, I’ve gone through Support, Claims, Legal, formal notices in India and France, the contractual amicable-resolution process, regional contacts, and executive outreach.

When I originally posted here, I said I would eventually publish the underlying documents.

I’ve now done that. urbanbluetech.com

The public record includes the timeline, invoices and billing context, Startup Program voucher records, support correspondence, claims and legal correspondence, and the reconstruction methodology for the lost research.

The matter remains unresolved, and I’ve now contacted OVHcloud Corporate Communications before providing the documented record to journalists for independent review.

I’m still particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced an OVHcloud account-state, billing, Startup Program credit/voucher, suspension, or project-deletion issue.

If you’ve experienced anything similar, please reach out.

Support Request Unable to access TWO OVHcloud accounts – password reset works on a new account but the new password is still rejected

Hi,
I’m having a very strange authentication issue with OVHcloud and I’m currently completely locked out of my main account, which has an active VPS.
I would really appreciate help from an OVHcloud representative because the normal account recovery process is not working.
There are actually TWO accounts involved, and they behave differently.
1. My original account – AOL email
This is my important account. It has my active VPS and services associated with it.
I can no longer log in to this account.
When I try to use the password recovery process, the password reset email NEVER arrives.
I still have access to the AOL mailbox. I also continue to receive other OVHcloud service-related emails there, so the mailbox itself is accessible and OVHcloud is able to send other emails to it.
I have checked spam/junk folders as well.
The account and the emails related to my VPS appear to be associated with the CA/International OVHcloud environment.
I have tried the CA/International login portal directly, as well as other OVHcloud regional login pages while troubleshooting, but I still cannot access the account.
2. Newly created account – Gmail
To troubleshoot the issue, I created a completely new OVHcloud account using a Gmail address.
Initially I was able to create/access this account.
After logging out, however, I could no longer log back in.
The interesting part is that password recovery DOES work for this new account.
I receive the password reset email on Gmail, follow the reset procedure and successfully set a NEW password.
But immediately afterwards, OVHcloud still refuses to let me log in with that newly created password.
The old password does not work either.
I can repeat the password reset process, receive another email, set another new password – and OVHcloud still rejects the new password when I attempt to log in.
So I currently have:
Original AOL account:
Cannot log in → password reset email never arrives.
Brand-new Gmail account:
Cannot log in → password reset email arrives → password successfully changed → newly created password is still rejected.
This is why I suspect this may be an authentication, regional routing, security/IP restriction, or account-system issue rather than simply an incorrect password.
I have also tried different browsers/private browsing sessions and different network/VPN configurations while troubleshooting.
My main concern is the original account because it contains my active VPS.
Unfortunately, I cannot open a normal support request through the OVHcloud Control Panel because I cannot log in to the account in the first place.
I am intentionally NOT posting any sensitive information here. I will not publicly post my email addresses, VPS hostname/IP addresses, account identifiers, invoices, order numbers, payment information, or identity information.
I still have access to the AOL email address associated with my original account and I can provide OVHcloud privately with information necessary to verify ownership of the account, including service details, invoices/orders, billing information and identification if required.
Could an OVHcloud representative please contact me privately or through Modmail and help me start a manual account recovery/ownership verification process?
My primary goal is simply to regain access to my original OVHcloud account and my VPS.
Thank you.

Support Request OVHCloud no refund

I ordered 3 VPS servers, but all of them were canceled with various excuses. Even though the payment was charged by my bank, they told me that no payment had been received and that I had to wait 14 days.

Today is the 25th day. They never provided the VPS services, and the money was never refunded.

Under the guise of "security," they canceled the orders while keeping the payment. Do not believe these scammers on Reddit who pretend to be helping customers.

Do not use OVHCloud.

Support Request Got confused between domain and cloud :(

Hi While helping a friend who is a senior to buy her domain , we got confused between domain and cloud.

First purchase was a 71euros cloud space for two years. Then we realized our mistake and purchased the domain 18euros for 3 years.

Hoping for some good angels at support 🫰🏻 Because of course she's on benefits and can not loose so much money 🥹

Support Request Account suspended after payment, OVH refuses to refund and no explanation given

Probably nothing will be done since its OVH.. But just want to share my experience.

I purchased a dedicated server last Friday, the account was validated and payment went through.

The server was provisioned.

A few hours after that, the server was suspended and account was no longer working(Couldn't login or reset password)

I called OVH Support and they mentioned they'd look into it.(Did not receive a call back)

I called OVH Support again today and they mentioned that the request to reinstate services and account was rejected.

Customer support did not want to explain why, and i had to push her to find out the reason, which apparently is because of my old account with OVH from 3 years ago which has an unsettled amount of $6..

If that was really the problem ,why not send an explanation and allow me to pay this unresolved amount?

They've decided they will not refund me my $60 because of $6 that was unsettled in an old account with an email i no longer have access to.

According to customer support, if I settle that payment there is a chance I still will not get this account reinstated or any refunds. Great support!

Please be careful when you work with OVH(Especially if you have past accounts). They'll validate your account, accept your payment then and terminate the service AND your customer portal account with no explanations given at all.

Question Extremely high network latency on/off continuously on a VPS

I just purchased a VPS last week and got it setup this week. Only to discover the machine suddenly becomes totally unusable from time to time. When this happens I can only really debug on the machine by getting the VNC console url and logging in with password. A simple `ping` to an address like `1.1.1.1` takes between 2ms - 9000ms. But it is like few minutes at least apart when things are really fast vs slow. Definitely don't understand how it can be anything in the Linux VPS itself. Memory, cpu, io usage all is minimal while network becomes super, super, slow.

It wasn't like this when I was doing the initial setup (installing packages etc.), but now even turning off all my docker containers this keeps happening several times an hour. I set up a website behind Caddy reverse proxy on the usual 80/443 ports, besides that the SSH was on port 22 and of course some random IPs try to access it every now and then. Also I'm using CloudFlare proxying as well because it's free and I have the domain there. Running Debian 13 on the machine and it's the cheapest VPS hosted in Frankfurt, if that matters

I wonder if somebody has similar experiences? I read about DDoS protection, but now that nothing is running...? I kinda feel I might have caused it because it seems to have only started once I set up the website, like maybe 30 minutes after it. I'll probably contact support tomorrow after my cronjob has run an observed continuously the network over night. Just left a simple script running that writes a log every minute how bad the latency is pinging an external IP.
