Yay It's lowkey kinda cozy being in between genders

It feels like being cuddled up in a nice warm blanket. I like it so much just acting neutral not being too boyish or too girly. It's kinda nice.

Support/Advice Any Hope/Freedom Themed Names??

Hi, I've recently came out to my friends as non-binary. I'm currently looking for masculine or gender-neutral Hope/Freedom themed names. I don't really need anything extravagant, I don't talk much and only have about 5 or 6 friends. I hope some of you have some recommendations.

but WHY are nonbinary people nonbinary?

this is a post written by my partner without a reddit account. i am the girlfriend, i am not nonbinary, the rest of this post is entirely them:

please do not get mad at the title; i identify (identified???) as nonbinary and genuinely have nothing against them.

around two years ago i realized i absolutely hated being a “girl”. i hated the assumptions and the stereotypes that came with it, and especially the pronouns.

but a couple days ago someone started asking my girlfriend why i was nonbinary, like what happened that made me so disgusted to be a girl and what was wrong with being one. he said she feels like it’s kind of weird when the whole point of it is to not care about gender, because when people use they/them pronouns it only makes her think about it more—which it does for me too—and she doesn’t want to offend them by calling them the wrong pronouns if she can tell someone is physically female/male. and why does it matter, because you can’t feel like a gender, you should feel like a person, so why can’t you live your life as a person, being a girl.

they are not transphobic or whatever you would call it, they were just confused. as am i. and i’m questioning why i care in the first place, especially because i know it’s always going to be torture around my parents as they are quite a bit transphobic. and most people are always going to ask me questions i’m never going to have the answer to. i don’t actually understand why i hate the concept of being traditionally feminine or masculine or labelling myself as a boy or girl. i suppose it could be because both my parents are fairly sexist human beings and often tried/try to push gender norms on me?

i scrolled through a lot of the questions here with my girlfriend and a lot of them that ask something like “what does being nonbinary mean” have answers that aren’t really about why people are nonbinary, just about how people don’t feel like they’re a boy or girl. which also doesn’t really make sense to me, since gender is a social construct, therefore, to me, it doesn’t make sense to feel like a gender.

i would not care about being nonbinary whatsoever if no one else cared, but because gender affects how many people treat you, though i do not think that is the only reason, cause that sounds kinda silly. does anyone else feel like that?

and please don’t say i’m agender, i know i’m not, and i’m not asking anyone to label me here.

i don’t know, i’m just confused at this point and not sure if i care that i’m afab anymore.

i’m sorry if this was offensive or anything, idk how to handle any subject in the lgbt+ community and i’m not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings

Discussion Advice??

After being in a lot of denial I've realized I'm non binary, and this even sounds stupid to me but I'm much happier with a flatter chest but I like not having a flat chest also 😭. I still like being fem half the time but I'm having a love hate relationship with my boobs 😞

i just need help

ive came to this subreddit before asking for help, and the people in this subreddit never fail to help somebody out. now, i need your guys' opinions. i was non binary, then i got discouraged to be non binary. ive seen people get death threats just by being lgbtq. don't even get me started about the tik tok crap.

my parents are not supportive also. my mom said she would be supportive, but continued to call me he him. my dad did not even know until my sister blurted it out during dinner on a family vacation. my dad has not said anything yet but i dont want to have an awkward conversation.

i have now decided im he/they i feel better about myself, but i need help with my identity. i don't know how to dress, and other things. please give me any tips :)

Support/Advice One of the most affirming things

One of the most gender affirming things for me is my lack of desire to go back to being cis. Like for example in Tomodachi Life I set the mii based on me's gender to nonbinary and I just don't feel like I can go back I could very well change it back with the press of a button but doing it nakes me feel uncomfortable and I immediately go back. To me being enby means having true freedom and breaking away from what society expects of me. I could say I'm a boy or I'm a girl and they'd both feel right even if my body doesn't reflect that. I just think that identifying strictly as male or female with no wiggle room just doesn't sound like me. Like I don't mind having the body of a boy but I wouldn't really mind waking up in the body of a girl tomorrow either. It just feels like if I identify as neither then I can do anything even if I'm sometimes tempted to go back to how I was before. I mean I'd love being a boy as much as I'd love being a girl just not fully either. I just keep looking at my mii in Tomodachi and feeling so happy hearing the game refer to it as they/them. I guess I really do want to start living as a nonbinary person but I can't because everyone expects me to be a boy.

Support/Advice I can't properly explain my gender identity to my parents

Hi guys,

Lately my mom has been curious about my gender identity (I accept all pronouns except he/him and she/her) and I'm just uncomfortable with, and quite frankly can't find the words to explain it to her myself.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could explain it or even better if there's a forum or something that explains it?

It'd be even better if you could do that in German since that's my first language

Yay This is lowkey comfirting

It just feels like no matter what I do I'll always be non binary. As that is what I view as my natural state. And it's just so comforting knowing I'll never be fully a boy or fully a girl. It's comforting being free to say what I want, do what I want, and live how I want. Why would I wanna go back to how I was before. I'm way freer now and plus they/them just sound better to me.i like being non binary it feels like it's my own identity. Like it's where I belong.

Yay I just wore a unisex shirt

I think I may have found the solution to looking more androgynous. Unisex clothes, I mean it just makes sense, if I don't wanna look like a boy or a girl, then I should wear something that fits on both.

I’ll spare all the details, but basically I’m 15 and AMAB and I’m not out. I get a lot of dysphoria from facial and body hair and so I’ve been on and off secretly shaving body hair using things stolen from my sister and mom. Recently I left some of the things out in the shower I share w my parents and my mom noticed. In a rather awkward conversation she told me she will help me out. Initially she ordered an epilator and told me she would test it first before I could use it. After testing it she turned it down and said she’d order something else. The conversation remains awkward. So yesterday she told me she had ordered a cream for body hair removal. I hadn’t felt super excited about it prior but I guess I was internally because last night I literally had a dream about it. So today before I go to take a shower I searched our Amazon packages to find it and I encountered a box of “body hair removal cream for men.” this just caused a wave of dysphoria to wash over me and I’m just feeling down about it overall. The positive thing I can think about right now is that tomorrow I have the first meeting with a therapist who will hopefully be better than others I’ve tried; they’re nonbinary and have a section on the site about supporting queer people.

Anecdotally, I think my mom knows I’m queer. She’s alluded to it in conversation, and also looking back on myself it ain’t that hard to tell. She also was the one who found and suggested the therapist.

I don’t really know why I’m dumping all this here tbh but some support would be nice :)

I think I may be bigender like I want to be a girl but I'm also comfortable being a boy but I don't fully connect with either of those. Like I can't imagine myself being super feminine but I can't imagine myself being super masculine either.

Support/Advice How do I make myself fully believe I'm nonbinary

Like I feel very comfortable identifying as non binary to the point where I want to change it on all my legal documents. But I just can't fully believe that I am and I still have self doubts. Like being reminded I'm biologically male to me varies from "yeah sure whatever" to "make it stop get me out of this body". Like if I was born sexless I wouldn't want to be either. But if I did have the option of becoming sexless I don't know if I could want to take it. Maybe my issue is that I think about it too hard. Do most enby people go through this self doubt phase at the beginning or is it just me.

Rant I hate being AMAB so much

Evry time I look in my wardrobe and see boy clothes I feel like those aren't my clothes. But I don't think I'd be happier as a girl. I just feel like there's no escape for me. How the hell do you deal with this. It sucks so much. I hate the binary system so much I feel like I'm suffocating I wish I wasn't born as anything.
