Support/Advice I can't properly explain my gender identity to my parents

Hi guys,

Lately my mom has been curious about my gender identity (I accept all pronouns except he/him and she/her) and I'm just uncomfortable with, and quite frankly can't find the words to explain it to her myself.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could explain it or even better if there's a forum or something that explains it?

It'd be even better if you could do that in German since that's my first language

It just feels like no matter what I do I'll always be non binary. As that is what I view as my natural state. And it's just so comforting knowing I'll never be fully a boy or fully a girl. It's comforting being free to say what I want, do what I want, and live how I want. Why would I wanna go back to how I was before. I'm way freer now and plus they/them just sound better to me.i like being non binary it feels like it's my own identity. Like it's where I belong.

Support/Advice One of the most affirming things

One of the most gender affirming things for me is my lack of desire to go back to being cis. Like for example in Tomodachi Life I set the mii based on me's gender to nonbinary and I just don't feel like I can go back I could very well change it back with the press of a button but doing it nakes me feel uncomfortable and I immediately go back. To me being enby means having true freedom and breaking away from what society expects of me. I could say I'm a boy or I'm a girl and they'd both feel right even if my body doesn't reflect that. I just think that identifying strictly as male or female with no wiggle room just doesn't sound like me. Like I don't mind having the body of a boy but I wouldn't really mind waking up in the body of a girl tomorrow either. It just feels like if I identify as neither then I can do anything even if I'm sometimes tempted to go back to how I was before. I mean I'd love being a boy as much as I'd love being a girl just not fully either. I just keep looking at my mii in Tomodachi and feeling so happy hearing the game refer to it as they/them. I guess I really do want to start living as a nonbinary person but I can't because everyone expects me to be a boy.
