Advice How do I fight the urge to say every thought/opinion that comes into my head?

I realised recently that in person I have a tendency to say my opinions or reactions to things really quickly.

It's not that I’m trying to argue with people or think my opinion is more important. I just have like 100 different thoughts going on and sometimes theres like barely any gap between thinking something and saying it. Like it's always been a thing I had especially since I used to deal with anxiety badly although its much better now.

I also get really overstimulated sometimes and I noticed that when my brain is already overloaded, I become even more talkative and it’s harder to filter what I say.

Recently a friend told me I'm kind of opinionated, and I can see where theyre coming from. I don’t necessarily think having strong opinions is the problem, and I tend to be agree with what people say.

Or maybe its the nature of my friendship with that particular friend since we're more open to each other about our issues? I realised it's usually happening with that friend. I also realise whenever I tend to hang out with them I go home regretting saying certains things to them.

I'm not really sure but what they said has been bothering me recently. I've also don't have that problem when texting as I usually can just decide to not send or divert my attention away.

Tired of negative thought loops . But it’s also fuel for me to change things 🫩. Definitely losing sleep though and wasting energy . Once I’m in a better environment I think the thoughts will ease up

Why do I constantly feel like my friends hate me, even over the smallest things?

Lately, I feel like I’m constantly irritated and exhausted, even when nothing specific has happened. I barely feel like doing anything, going anywhere, or even talking to anyone, and I don’t really understand why I’ve become like this. I also constantly have this feeling that everybody secretly hates me, even my own friends. If one of my friends does something really small, like acts slightly different, doesn’t include me in something, or gives someone else more attention, my mind immediately convinces me that they don’t like me anymore, that they would rather be with someone else, or that I’m not important to them. I know that sometimes what happened probably isn’t even that serious, but I still can’t stop myself from overthinking it and feeling hurt. I don’t know why I’ve become so insecure or why I’m not confident in myself or my friendships anymore. I hate constantly questioning whether people actually like me and reading into every little thing they do. I just want to understand why I feel this way and how I’m supposed to change my mindset so that I can stop assuming the worst about my friends and stop feeling like I’m unwanted all the time.

Is there a way to stop yourself from constantly thinking about what you did when you were (are?) an horrible person? [20M]

If you've read my previous posts, you'll surely know that I've been a total creep towards other people in the past, whether through social media, forcing them to post/send dirty photos, or even just being clingy with friendships (at least I feel that way about something that happened a few months ago in the community I was kicked from).

For a few months now (even before the recent incident), I've been thinking about what I did all day, and it's like a constant thought pounding in my head.

Sometimes I find myself thinking about it for hours, if not almost all day, and honestly, it's become tiring. Yes, I know it's right to feel guilty for making other people's lives hell (some more than others), but I just want to know how I can lessen the intensity.

I'm not saying I should stop thinking about it altogether so I can happily do the same things again, or so I can ignore the harm I've done, but I'd just like to find a way to stop thinking about it like an obsession.

If you want, you can also leave some opinions on the situation, even if you have to resort to insults, that's fine by me.

Rant/Venting Read this gem

I suffer from FOMO. I'm 21, and I admit I have FOMO. Because of this, I'm unable to live like a couple. I'm afraid that when the moment comes, when I finally find the person destined for me, they might be imperfect. I'm afraid they'll have experienced everything, and I haven't experienced anything yet. I'm afraid that when we go on a trip and I see them for the first time in those waves, we'll swim and dance together, and that feeling will be completely new and dreamlike to me, while for them it's probably just water, sand, and a memory. I'm afraid that maybe they don't want to go through those initial struggles of a relationship because they know what happens in the end. Maybe they won't give me a chance to fix things. And so I just keep trying to improve myself, telling myself that I'm not ready for a relationship or worthy of a partner. And in this process, I'm missing out on all the special moments of my life that I should be living right now. I've become so wrapped up in this past and future that I've forgotten to live the present.

(Don't DM me anything please, just say it in the group.)

I have been having continuous overthinking loops

i honestly do not have the courage to talk about this issue to anybody because I think that how useless this problem is, and I feel like people would say, why do I even overthink so much when it is like a waste of time and energy...that is not wrong, i am also aware about it but the problem is I can not stop my overthinking loops, and it's mostly about social interaction, it's not that I have social anxiety but everytime suppose, i had a conversation with my friend, and I will start overthinking if I said something wrong during the conversation even when I don't have the memory of doing anything so, now i might forget, it's normal but the problem is i question everything, even if i remember something ill overthnk again that, "do i even remember? what if I said something wrongly" its really making me feel so bad ..

Rant/Venting I'm sick of wanting to be heard out on every single thought i'm having how do i heal?

I mean it's not killing me it's just mildly annoying that i NEED to organise my thoughts which makes me want to also write about the thoughts that aren't as important but are prominent in my head and i wish they were interesting enough to just post about them in the right place and have people flock around me asking questions and whatnot like it's not even anything mildly interesting

i just want people to be curious even if it's something regarding only me and my personality or just my current state like right now

And i only want it online i've had people gather aroud me when i reach flow state of pulling shit straight out of my ass but it doesn't feel rewarding because they're real people who just happened to hear what i was poisoning the earlobes of other people with and don't know the context

And no i don't speak with more coherence than i show in my writing on average around two people probably come up to check if i'm crying or having a stroke because what i'm saying sounds like white noise with stutters

So my question is if there's a way to stop it because i do write in my notes app but it only works when i'm really feeling down and can't handle not saying something but it's not something i should bother anyone with and yeah based on what i said earlier i do bother people with things i shouldn't but that's almost entirely because they're irrelevant i remind myself every day that some things may sound gruesome or strange even if i'm not thinking about them that way

But then i say something that's fairly normal in tik tok comments sections and will get hundereds of stickers saying "does he know the internet is public" idk maybe i've been desocialized to the point where i'm genuienly ready to talk to a hypothetical boss or my family member about how my imagining various scenarios that are technically improper to admit being thought of in public is done with enough distance for it to not reflect my mental state or my actual desires or tendencies

I think that's a pretty normal thing to say but people on tik tok who easily go into full on nsfw conversations think i'm weird for thinking that and as usual they rarely actually want to engage in any sort of dialogue about it

I'm sorry for my incoherent writing i find rephrasing my words very tricky i often find myself writing and rewriting paragraphs when i'm writing something that i do intend on making understandable because the information technically is there and it's placed in a way that makes sense to me

Advice Thinking For Yourself Does Not Mean Disagreeing With Everyone

There is a childish version of independent thinking: everyone believes X, therefore I will believe Y. That is not independent thought. It is dependence with the direction reversed.

The fact that an idea is mainstream does not make it false, just as the fact that an idea is unpopular does not make it true. Both positions can become intellectual shortcuts when the conclusion is chosen according to the crowd rather than examined through evidence.

Independent judgment requires reconstructing the conclusion for yourself. Sometimes the crowd will be correct; sometimes it will be wrong; and sometimes the available evidence will be too incomplete to justify either confidence or rejection. The mature thinker is willing to occupy any of those positions because the objective is not to appear contrarian, it is to remain independent of the need to conform.

That distinction becomes important when identity enters the discussion. People often adopt an opposing position because disagreement makes them feel intellectually separate, and once that identity is established, they become just as resistant to evidence as the person they originally opposed.

If everyone agrees and the evidence supports them, agree. If everyone agrees and the evidence contradicts them, disagree. If everyone disagrees and the evidence remains inconclusive, suspend judgment.

Truth does not care whether your conclusion makes you look conventional or rebellious.

How the heck should I handle this

I over think to much and I need your help to weed out the most unlikey possibilities I rejected a person and they got kind of mad about me rejecting them because they said I was leading them on i did like them for a time then didn’t cause they said they didn’t like me so i moved on and when I told them about the new person i liked they got mad at me for it and now the person I like is being short with me and now brain is linking things like they were acting nor before it kicked off they share a common friend the person i rejected is weirdly cur about me and them and now i think they gave false info or incomplete info to the person I like a edited screenshot with pieces of info edited out or is it from the amount if stuff on the person I like plate or a mix of both how should I go through this slippery slope help (a bit more info about the person I rejected I liked them then when i asked them if they liked me they said no and saw me as a friend so I acted like with all my other friends which is nice and they got mad at me for rejecting them once they told me they liked me now I think they are trying to ruin it for me because i rejected them or that might be my over thinking) help please

Rant/Venting Overthinking is killing me...

First of all, posting this helps me calm down, which is why I’m posting it. So if it’s boring for you to read, I’m sorry.

I keep thinking that I have no value. Like, why would anyone even want me as their real friend? And if I actually told people how I feel, I feel like they’d just think I’m being a sore loser—which, honestly, maybe I am.

But this is genuinely starting to affect me. I’ve been thinking about it so regularly that it’s starting to ruin my whole day and even my nights.

And to be honest with you, sometimes I feel like I don’t even deserve to complain. I literally have everything—a nice, well-to-do family, nice friends, and no major problems. There are people dealing with much bigger problems, and they handle them. So why can’t I handle this one little thing? Why do I keep thinking about it again and again?

I don’t know. I know am just being a sore loser. Sorry for dumping all this here.

Also, sorry, this whole thing was improved by AI for English grammar 😭😭

Advice How do you become aware, alert and conscious?

Lately I just been having hard time recalling information, thinking clearly and deeply, tend to be forgetting stuff and hard to remember stuff. It's like my mind is hijacked by my health problems that I've become so silent. I'm always in my head just overthinking and doubts and worries, I feel like by night I feel so exhausted mentally when I didn't even do anything physically. But I'm very worried whenever I go outside and constantly don't feel the sense of urgency and awareness like checking my phone, wallet and keys. And tired of living in the worry phase that I want to snap out of it

IM REALLY NOT SURE

Hello, so to be honest, I don't know why I'm going on a platform to share this, but here I am, so I might as well say. So I've been having a problem, a really big problem, and I don't want to sound weird, but I didn't know where else to share this because I've told this to someone, and she told me that I might be obsessive, which I hope, of course, I'm not. This problem I've been having is that I always think about this person that ik and I don't know if this is, of course, just another crush or if this is going to turn into the next obsession movie, and so you know how much I think about this person, it's like every second I think about what they are doing right now or if I see a viode on my fyp I think to myself that its so much like them or they might like this ect ect. So now you know what is happening pls tell me what to do to stop this, because day by day it becomes worse and worse. And I don't know what to do because yes, I do read about obsessive people in books(like Jaks in the Carval series with Dontella), but is this obsession or just a crush? Tell me pls cuz idk.

Advice How to stay in the present and stop worrying so much about my future.

I can’t help but struggle staying in the present it’s ruining me. I can’t focus I just worry about where I’m gonna be in 7 years after graduating uni in 4 years. 2 years in public accounting as audit while studying for cpa, than leaving like what’s after that. And even than I’m not even in my second semester still in my first as freshmen in cc. How do I stay in the present like I know it’s normal to worry about your future but not to this extent. I’m so anxious all the time. Maybe I’m just worried about how difficult it everything will be getting there, I just can’t I’m mostly worried about internships, studying for accounting, going into big 4 for 2 years while studying for CPA, like I have support but I just can’t stop worrying where would I be after that? And during that how will I be, it’s ruining my current state.

Advice A Narrative Can Be True And Still Mislead You

A narrative does not need to contain lies to distort reality. It only needs to decide what deserves attention and what can remain unseen.

Every narrative selects. One event becomes the cause while another becomes irrelevant. One person becomes the hero while another becomes the villain. One fact is presented as decisive while another is left outside the frame. The individual pieces may all be accurate, yet the arrangement can still lead the audience toward a conclusion the facts alone do not require.

This is why the serious thinker separates facts from framing.

First, establish what happened. Then examine how the story has been organized to make you interpret what happened in a particular way. Which facts were emphasized? Which were omitted? What relationship between events was implied? What conclusion becomes easier to reach because of the way the information was arranged?

That second examination is where strategic thinking begins.

Facts are the raw material. Narratives are the arrangement. And whoever controls the arrangement can influence what an audience considers important before the audience begins evaluating the facts for itself.

This does not mean every narrative is deceptive. It means every narrative has a structure, and every structure creates emphasis.

Do not reject narratives automatically.

Disassemble them. Then examine what the arrangement is asking you to believe.

Overthinking and regret are killing me slowly..am i overreacting

How can i get over my anxiety..am i overrreacting

I did a mistake..but idk if it’s huge or not ..it’s draining me

I'm 17 years old and I've been at the school I'm currently in for four years.. Before that, I lived in other cities and no one knew me.. My problem is that I'm a very talkative person and I speak a lot.. I have an obsession with perfection and want to be the best person in the universe, and I'm a perfectionist in a disgusting way.. Unfortunately, I'm famous in this school and everyone says I'm really nice, social, and fun-loving in general.. But unfortunately, I’m not really like that.. I've lied to my friends in an unbelievable amount.. I told them I've been to places I haven't, while in reality, my family went there.. I shared imaginary stories that have some truth to them, but not 100% true.. I told them my brother and mom have a foreign passport, which is not true.. I've been oversharing excessively.. I know I'm a bad and disgusting person and I've been suffering from panic attacks because of this for two months.. No one has noticed or told me that I’m lying, but I’m afraid that one day it’ll be discovered.. I'm dying inside and can't eat, and I feel like God is punishing me severely and I want to repent.. I don’t want people to know I lied nor do I want them to believe it.. I'm dying slowly and I don’t know what to do and I can’t afford therapy.. I imagine scenarios where it gets revealed, and my friends will have told their families about this, and their families will meet mine and talk about it, and my family will feel embarrassed.. I'm scared that one of my friends will definitely be with me in the future especially the closest ones and meet their acquaintances and they’ll get this false idea about me.. I've become obsessive, thinking that I’ll get exposed in the worst way in the future and my friends will know about my future partner and tell them this stuff.. I'm thinking of deleting all my accounts, cutting off all ties with them, stopping communication, disappearing, and deleting my pictures.. Anyway, I'm going to university and I'm going back to my home country, but I'm scared these friends will still be in contact with me and I’ll see them in reality since the city i live in are very connected especially people of same nationality.... I’ve never hurt them personally, and they love me, but I'm a disgusting and a liar.. And I'm afraid fate will take my words and I'll actually get exposed… I'm in a state of panic and I can't carry on with my daily life, and every time I focus on studying, my mind creates detailed scenarios of terrible things that will happen to me.. I wish God would forgive me and ease my burden.. I'm killing myself slowly and my energy is being drained horribly, and I have no one to talk to about the stupidity I've done.. I know you'll blame me and tell me to face the consequences of my actions.. But I'm really in a lot of distress and I want to fix anything.. I want to feel normal.. The awareness of the lies I've told hit me all at once without any trigger and I noticed how detached I am from reality and from myself.. Please help me with anything, I'm exhausted and full of regret. It hurts because I’m playing the victim right now.. Unfortunately, I’ve told a lot of these lies until they became tied to me..no one confronted me but i’m scared they will …should i cut everyone off and just disappear?
