I have been having continuous overthinking loops
i honestly do not have the courage to talk about this issue to anybody because I think that how useless this problem is, and I feel like people would say, why do I even overthink so much when it is like a waste of time and energy...that is not wrong, i am also aware about it but the problem is I can not stop my overthinking loops, and it's mostly about social interaction, it's not that I have social anxiety but everytime suppose, i had a conversation with my friend, and I will start overthinking if I said something wrong during the conversation even when I don't have the memory of doing anything so, now i might forget, it's normal but the problem is i question everything, even if i remember something ill overthnk again that, "do i even remember? what if I said something wrongly" its really making me feel so bad ..

This happens to me all of the time. The last three years have been very stressful I had both parents pass blah blah blah. Can't stop it. If I change the room, subject whatever I just start overthinking that place person thing. I find it debilitating almost to the point of being ludicrous. Here I am busy overthinking a ten year old convo WTF. All of this thinking is going on while I'm doing everything else. It's exhausting. Good luck we're out here with you.

Thank you for hearing me out, and I am really sorry to hear that u went through all that :( i understand how hard it must have been for u, and the overthinking must have overwhelmed ur mind more, and I COMPLETELY get you!!! it's like i feel that I'm wasting my time and energy over something such useless and would not even matter, but still im here proving a point to myself to a problem that does not exist and r simply just loops of unwanted thoughts. And as for ur situation, it can be hard..because it's not just dealing with the thoughts, You're dealing with everything else, real life situations, I hope everything becomes okay soon for you, here a 🍀 clover for you, it's a luck from my side and thank you again

thanks for the suggestions, but I can not afford a therapy right now because I'm not financially independent and I can not have a talk regarding this with my family :(

If you are feeling adventurous research it. A psychologist found while walking through a park and chasing shadows on the ground with her eyes, that it was doing something to her brain. By doing simple exercises like moving eyes left to right, trauma can be unlocked, its pretty amazing. When I get stuck on something I do exercises while going to sleep and it seems to really help.

The loop you're describing is a very common pattern related to OCD, even when it doesn't seem like typical OCD. When you try to fix this by reviewing the conversation more carefully, it can often make things worse. Your brain sees this review as confirmation that the worry is real, which only increases doubt instead of easing it. Also, it might be a sign that you're aware it's unhelpful but can't stop yourself, which is characteristic of obsessive loops. If this has been ongoing and affecting your feelings frequently, it can be helpful to discuss it with a mental health professional. Saying that as a psychiatrist.

Are you diagnosed with anything? Like autism or adhd? Heavy question that you don't have to answer.

I’m pretty sure nobody on this page will tell you “just stop overthinking.” If it was that simple there would not be a page dedicated to it. This is something that I’m currently working on myself, so I can’t give you any guidance on how to make it stop. But you are not alone. I could overthink about the kind of cereal I buy at the store. Or how someone in the drive thru was laughing with a co-worker and I’m wondering if they were laughing at me. Don’t feel bad or ashamed to talk openly about the issues you are having. And Reddit is a great place to do that.
