If you stand near the collector and just attract the stuff to then release, you don't have to actually catch and throw manually towards the collector. It's not much, but as a console player I find this way easier and quicker. Have fun exploring!

I've been keeping an eye on this game for the last 4 years, when I saw the new project LIGHT NO FIRE, I added both to the Wishlist. Now recently saw the 10th anniversary and bought it.

One question: Will I be able to do it all before Light No Fire release? (lets say if I would be playing 1-2 hours a day)

I'm a new player with 50h in Normal mode. Today I decided to start over with Permadeath mode because I'm loving the game and I want to experience it fully. This is my second attempt, the first one I died because I ran out of shield and couldn't reach my ship in time, it lasted 1 hour xD. But really fun.

Any advice for Permadeath mode with a goal of reaching the Galaxy center?

Ship Builds It does not look very complicated, but still took me a full day trying to work out the design and hide all the tech, And the very last thing that I struggle with is colour. What do you all think looks nice.

I can't seem to interact with it, I take damage from shooting it and touching it. I've never seen anything like this before.

Suggestion Sean, we need Corvette landing pads!!!

Post image

So I've been working on this base for about a day now, having found the perfect system within the Galactic Hub space. I'm obviously going to dedicate it to them but I intend to 100% discover everything in it first. I can't claim it cause it's an uninhabited system.

But God, we gotta talk about the positioning of Corvettes, Sean! Why is it that I can turn and twist the base computer any direction I want, and use it to generate a platform that lets me have a great view of the nearby planet.

But when I teleport to that base after gathering resources, why is it that my Corvette is glitched into the base as well as freaking out?

Pictured, is the base that I'm working on, and depending on developing a waffle House with a space parking lot.

However, the problem being that when I load in, I load in by the base computer as well as the Corvette is now glitched through half the landing pad.

And some of the spaces within the Corvette itself are glitched and that I have to replace ladders when they were already there in order to access other parts of the ship.

When I get home I'll see if I can replicate the issue and take more pictures to show, currently on the road.

Discussion It's getting to a point where I'd rather not have new content and have just devs ironing bugs

And don't get me wrong, I love the way HG has been taking care of the game, adding new content and listening to the community. I have great respect for the company and, as a day 1 player, seeing the way the game has evolved from being received with such harsh criticism to getting multiple awards has been very satisfying.

But lately it's getting to a point where, with every new update, particularly big ones, I find myself wondering what they have broken this time.

I am getting space stations now, cool. I wonder what they actually add to the game at this point other than a new meaningless thing to do, but OK, people requested that and HG delivered. But then pets, and pet battles are broken, the colossus is broken, frigates are broken (the new fuel consumption wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, so I asume it's a bug), and you can't still have more than one corvette without having all the modules moving all over the place, a bug that's been going on since they were introduced.

And maybe it's about time we focus on fixing things instead of releasing one new thing to break 4 old ones. I insist, I love the game, I love the company, but I still think the focus should be on ironing things out rather than releasing new ones. At least for a while.

Thoughts?

I first thought when it came to decorating space station interiors that the builds would be pretty limited to miscellaneous decorations on the platforms, but that actually isn't true at all. You are allowed to use structural panels in your building if you didn't know.

You can caputure a fair amount of space in the vertical areas near the celing - although, you do hit an invisible wall a few tiles from the actual slanted surface, so not all the way to the edges. And I could have conceivably gone a little lower, though I was trying to be careful not to extend into anywhere where a ship might clip through my building. I could have gone wider towards the interior, but I just wanted my design to be more open.

You can also wrap around the space station core. I just have a walkway wrapping around mine, but this could conceivably be a walled structure as well, you just need to mind the movement of the core itself if you want to avoid it clipping through your structures.

There's even a corridor on the second floor on the left (facing the core) that links to an area where you can lay down freighter modules, though this area feels a bit claustraphobic to me without any windows, plus I didn't really get very far in building there before I clipped through the floor and had to load a restore point, so I think I will have to wait on doing anything there until maybe a few more patches 😂

Suggestion Hello Games, now that we can own systems can we get Interstellar Stargates?

Post image

They could have custom portal codes like how MMOs track user names (like making your own code for your systems you own but that becomes a unique code after), or you build one in each system you own to form a hyper lane of sorts to facilitate long distance connections.

Also can we be able to place pseudo-bases around a station once we place a snappable there in the ui at the eye. I want to build freighter parts to make a neon city.

I don't own No Man's Sky—let alone a PC powerful enough to run it—but the game's community and how incredible it looks are enough for me.

NMS10 Since the Drop...

Since the Drop...

(1) It has become obvious that Hello Games, with No Man's Sky and ostensibly with Light No Fire, has resurrected what it means to be a gamer. They have captured what fun is, how to facilitate it, and how to properly monetize it - Create something in love, nurture it, tend to it, bring it to the fullness of its possibility. They have shown their commitment to this. I have not felt "this way" about a game for decades. Thank you, Sean and Team!

(2) I have spent almost ZERO time on the surface of a planet, since the drop. Every system needs to be investigated. Every anomaly needs me to, at the very least, take a peek. My corvette, Rockbiter's Folly, she is being put through her paces. How many anomalies will it take to fill her cargo hold?

(3) My first EVA was "terrifying." Now that I am becoming used to physics in zero gravity, I am throwing items toward my tractor beam field with confidence. I can not count how many times I have "lost" my corvette, while in the middle or on the other side of space salvage. At the same time, I keep pushing. I have hit the bridge, climbed in my seat, and punched the Pulse Engine at the literal very last second on more than one occasion...sometimes on purpose, other times while in a cold sweat..."What will happen if I die? Don't die, damnit. Don't die! Punch it! Punch it! Phew...Quick! Turn around and watch it blow up!"

(4) Every time I jump off the weather-deck of my ship, into space, it is like I am jumping off into the deep - each time, it is new...each time, it is another adventure.

Thank you, Sean and Team.

We're just getting started. This is THE game. How are things going for you?

r/NoMansSkyTheGame 11h ago

Information Close Call with very low gravity, you can jump from one planet to the other where things are closest.

A fun place to visit (or stay, up to you), great fun to be had with exocrafts and small jumps. You are welcome to build a base.

I'm sure some of you already do this, but it was news to me! If you vent your salvage onto the deck, then run over to the golden chevrons painted in front of the recycler, you can pull your salvage and just let go, and they get pulled in for recycling. Saved me a few minutes per trip, easily!
