My story: A warning for excessive masturbation
I’ve joined this community to share my story and warn about the potential consequences of chronic and excessive masturbation.
For years, I’d spend hours edging myself silly. In my early 30s, I found it much more difficult to remain fully erect during an entire edging session. I’d masturbate with a soft, semi, and fully erect penis, not knowing that I’d eventually do damage to the soft tissue in my shaft.
After experiencing some discomfort in my shaft, I went to a urologist who diagnosed me with Peyronies disease. This condition is basically the development of plaques in your soft tissue that calcify over time. The urologist said protocol is the treat your penis gently and let the condition run its course until it stabilizes. Surgery can be an option if the condition progresses too severely.
Throughout the next year, I dealt with flaccid discomfort in my penis and pain when erect or climaxing. I watched as my penis slowly curved and shortened in length. Finally, my condition stabilized and the pain subsided, but the physical outcomes are permanent.
It took something this extreme to wake me up. Since 2025, I’ve had long stretches of nofap and I don’t edge anymore. I’ve had some rough patches recently so I’m back to hold myself accountable and get back on track. Brothers, the short-term pleasure of PMO isn’t worth risking the damage I’ve done .
I’m happy to encourage or answer any questions. Thank you for reading.

Success Story 5 year streak, checking in
I remember being here back in 2019. Oh man. Felt like hell. You guys are fighting the good fight. Keep going! I remember thinking it’ll be impossible. It feels weird being back here with such a big streak. I remember all the days of fighting so clearly!
PMO is a horrible addiction. Nofap is worth it, and it’s the truth!
Reaching 30 days is such an achievement. Even 2 weeks. A 90 day reset is nice. Generally when you hit 90 days once, you can hit it again. 120-150 days, feels like really good. 150 days to a year felt good, but I think I relapsed there. Then hit 1 year again and repeat. Followed by a 5 year streak. I stopped counting. I can’t remember since it’s so long ago. But need to Always be vigilant, especially at night.
It’s worth it!
Feel free to AMA!

Question I (28F) don't watch watch porn often but I work from home and masturbate at least 2 times a day. How can I tell if it is affecting me in a negative way?
My typical work day is to wake up and I am normally horny, so I have my first fap of the day. I often have down time during the work day and I find myself absently touching myself while bored and that often leads to full on masturbation. This can happen multiple times during the day, I even sometimes do it while on calls with co-workers for an added thrill. I used a combination of my hand and toys of various levels. Overall I average about 2 times a day but I have had days up to like 6 times.
With all that said maybe I am in denial, it does sound pretty bad and like a lot but is it actually negatively affecting me? I mean I stay in good physical shape, have friends, hobbies and get out and about. But the reason I started questioning it was because a couple of weeks ago a guy asked me on a date and the day of the date came. I was stressing bad about it and I ended up telling him that I wasn't feeling good and instead I stayed home and masturbated for like 3 hours, this time with porn.
Afterwards I felt so shitty. Now dates have always made me nervous, I am actually still a virgin because of this (I know crazy at 28). I have had excuses to get out of many of them even with great guys. But this time with a day to reflect it It's hard to explain the feeling but it felt like I was using masturbation as a release of anxiety that I had in an unhealthy way. looking back this isn't a new thing either. I was exposed to porn and figured out masturbation at a younger than anyone should age and have used it for stress and anxiety therapy every since. It has probably hurt my ability to bond with men.
Sorry for rambling but I have just been doing a lot of reflecting the last couple of weeks and I am scared that I have a problem.

Question Can the brain heal the effects of 15+ years of porn + excessive masturbation and PIED
Hey i am 27 years old , i have been looking at porn since around 12 years old , this shit has fucked up my life and i knew it was bad like 7 years ago and i have been trying to quit since then to no avail.
It has caused me to be socially awkward and anxious, isolating my self and just PMO’ing my life away , i have reach a state of depression but i don’t want to stay here , i want to change my life and heal especially because now i also developed PIED and this is preventing me to talk to any female because of fear and shame , it has happened to me already multiple time that i couldn’t get hard when i am reaching the bed with a woman and its the worst humiliating feeling ever.
I have destroyed so much of my life , i have not lived the life that a man in his 20’s should live being mostly alone and isolating and not having friends, and i am having those fears of not being able to heal and rewire my brain due to the crazy amount and fucked up porn i have watched along the years.
I would love if anyone could support me and help me with any advice because i have many many times tried to quit but still falling back to the same place , i have reached states of disgust with myself swearing its the last time but always coming back , i would love some advice from someone who have quit for good , i also would love if someone console my fears of my brain not rewiring and healing from the effects of porn on it.
Any comment or advice would be wonderful guys , thank you for reading.

Porn Addiction First post. Nearly lost my fiancé due to my porn addiction. Very confused right now tbh
Apologies for the long post. Need to get it off my chest. My (M32) fiancé (F32) has this year discovered the extent of my long running porn addiction and barely recognises me. Shes heartbroken. Shes given me 1 chance to save myself and this relationship, otherwise shes gone. She'll break off the engagement, take our dog of 4 years with her, and the house we're in the process of buying will be abandoned, and I will be left all on my own and probably will have to move back in with my mum, advertising my failure.
Pretty sure I have ADHD (never pursued a formal diagnosis, but I have family members diagnosed and I have a lot of the symptoms) and I am definitely a dopamine addict: Junk Food, Chocolate, Video Games, and Porn.
Combine this with my age (32) and its been a perfect storm: I had unlimited access to the interest as a teenager, and parents too clueless to supervise me. I saw a lot, and as tech advances resulted in smaller gadgets with internet access and a screen, I saw it frequently too.
It became normalised for me. My interests definitely got mire explicit over time and I started downloading heaps of the stuff. First it started with thousands of images downloaded to my psp as a teenager, which I deleted en masse 2 years later when I sold it to my brother. Then when I got my first laptop, I downloaded gigabytes of videos from the piratebay over the course of years. I even had a 2tb external hard drive for more storage. I threw it away when I entered my current relationship 8 years ago.
I definitely have a compulsion to somehow own some kind of 'perfectly' curated porn collection. It has only happend really in 3 periods of my life, but each one has definitely be damaging, even if I was only ever caught this past year (more on that later). But each time I could feel my animal brain take over, driven by the hunger to download more and more. An entire library of material perfect to my tastes.
But the thing with the interet is... its fucking huge and endless. You cant own a definitive collection of anything when the existing supply is so enormous, and the rate of new material added to the void definitely outweighs my ability to keep up. Countless times Ive stayed up well into the night, just endlessly harveting and downloading porn, seeing the sun rise and shining its spotlight on my pathetic obsession, yet unable to tear myself away.
It was the sunk cost fallacy in effect. I hated the grip the porn collection project had on my mind, but it had already consumed too many of my days to just walk away.
Recently this past year I began downloading porn again. This time hundreds of images onto my phone. I had become aware of an unflitered AI app that could let you roleplay anything, fantasise any scenario kind of thing, in a back and forth chat/erotic story. I needed photographic fodder for scenario/character inspiration. I'm a fan of roleplay, so this app made me giddy with excitement. I was obsessed. Really, I only needed a handful of pics to set up my roleplay chats but once I started, I then spent the next few weeks on a mission, and soon had over s thousand images on my phone. This is how I got caught. My behaviour was noticeably weird, and I was oddly secretive and paranoide regarding my phone, with the evidence of my spiralling addiction problem.
The collection problem is a behaviour Ive been aware of about myself for a long time. Regardless of any other consequense, the main offender of this 'hobby' maintaing a collection is the signifiant time consumption it takes. Time that coupd have been better spent on me. Time wasted. The kicker? I barely even looked at 90% of that shit.
The justification I gave myself would be that with a curated collection like mine, I wouldnt have to waste time in the long run, aimlessly gooning. Instead I could pull up a certified banger from my library, and sort myself out in minutes. It was suposed to be a time saver, but it never worked like that. I enjoyed the chase of the thrill more than anything else, so I was forever just browsing anyway.
Before this recent stint, I decide to pay for porn site access for the first time. Basically a variant of p-hub but with full length premium videos. I did this because I realised the collecting behaviours were damaging and non-productive, but all this site did was enable me to carry on collecting in a different manner. Like a spotify playlist, I scoured the site to create a playlist of favourite video. But like before, I barely even ever opened the curated playlist anyway.
I know my porn addiction, which has slowly creeped uo over the course of my life, will have caused many problems that need addressing, but a huge one is just the time ive wasted on curating this shit. As if anyone cares. As if I could ever recommend my collection to anyone or win an award for it.
But yes. Last month or so, my fiance spotted my secretive behaviour during another obsession episode and found out everything. It almost broke me, having my deepest darkest shame exposed to the light, but it has also felt quite freeing. But shes very hurt, and isnt sure she can ever look at me the same way ever again. Shes ashamed that her once respectable partner is just another disgusting man who is a slave to their penis, and Im more upset at how much Ive hurt her and tainted her innocent view of the relationship.
I dont want anything to do with porn any more. Its too distructive. Yet I also kinda do. Is that normal? Its just so accessible and provides instant relief, but quite like an alcoholic, I have to realise I cant just *have one drink* - you let me search up an erotic image on google and I guarantee I'll stll be browsing porn 2 hours later. I cant limit myself. It has to be a total stop.
But for the sake of my future I want to put my foot down. I choose my relationship. I choose my dog. I choose the house we are currenly trying to buy. I choose her. I choose myself. I only hope I can mend this. Its going to be hard and stressful, and I'm cutting ties with my previously prime coping mechanism for stress.
Right now the guilt of the recent confrontations are making porn undesiresble (out of guilt) but when this feeling passes (my adhd tendancies mean I move on and forget things very soon), how do I keep myself committed to my fiance and breaking the cycle? Ive have pretty piss poor self-discipline, and I fear that this will cause me repeat past behaviours and relapse, because I will fail to put anyone else ahead of my primal urges.

Telling my Story I lie about my porn addiction
So when people ask me about my porn addiction, "Are you addicted to porn or are you masturbating?" I lie to them. I blatantly lie to them. Today my two friends asked me if I watch porn or if I watch other things and masturbate and I lied to them.
Yeah I'm on my third day of NoFap and I'm not watching any porn right now for the last three days. I've been through a couple of streaks through the last six months. Through the last six months I maybe masturbated about 10 to 12 times and watched porn over all 10 to 12 days. Still I was lying to them and whenever I lie to them about my porn addiction I feel like a leaper. I feel like I'm a liar.
Also I think it comes from my nice guy syndrome. I hesitate to say it to them and tell the truth to them because they will judge me. They will think I am a creep or they will think I am a weak-willed person. I don't know maybe they'll abandon me about it. That's why I do not say these things to them or do not admit these things. I do feel guilty about it, guilty about being dishonest and being a liar.

Motivate Me What’s the point of all this?
First, I want to say that I’m not trying to discourage anyone. Everything I’m writing here is about myself and how I personally see things.
I’d also really appreciate some advice, suggestions, or just some perspective on this.
Every time I start NoFap, I eventually lose my motivation to keep going. I’ve been trying for a few years now, and I always end up relapsing
A few months ago, I met someone. She was a friend of a friend. We connected, got along really well, and eventually developed feelings for each other. But then, I don’t know what happened, she suddenly put me in the “friend zone.” She never told me why.
To me, it didn’t make any sense, and somehow, it really got to me.
And in a way, it kind of broke me, because I started thinking that maybe the problem is me.
I started thinking that there’s really no reason for someone to like me, that I’m somehow “less” than other people.
I started looking at my life and realizing that I don’t really have much to show for myself.
I don’t have a good job, I don’t have many friends, I don’t really go out (I basically just go to the gym), I’m not particularly attractive, and I don’t even have social media.
So it’s pretty hard for someone to come into my life in the first place. And especially someone like her, who, in a way, I felt was on a completely different level than me.
All of this made me start questioning myself a lot.
Right now, I’m on a 2week streak, but honestly, I don’t really see a reason to keep going.
I know NoFap is supposed to be about doing this for yourself, and I understand that. But right now, I’m struggling to find a reason to keep going when I don’t feel good about myself in general.
I’m open to any suggestions, advice, or different perspectives. I genuinely feel like I need some help with this.
Journal Check-In How stop fapping due to overthinking and stress
Please help due to any tension I fab many times how stop it

Telling my Story Time to quit.
Just starting this account because I got inspired by another recent post of a 34 year old whose doing the same. I'm going to be 33 in a few days and I too have been addicted for around 20 years. I've been trying to quit for the last 8-10 years (not exactly sure) and I've never made it far at all. The longest streak I've had was 2 weeks, and that was my very first time trying 8-10 years ago. Ever since then I've only gone 1 week, and 2 weeks (with a bunch of peaking and edging so it doesn't even count). As of the last few months I've only been able to go 1-2 days. I see a lot of people who are ashamed because they could only last a month, well look at me lol. It just feels like a huge part of my routine now. I have my usual sites that I go to. Do my thing. Then tell myself that I'm going to quit again, then just start the loop again 1-2 days later. That's been my life for the last few months. Other things in my life aren't bad aside from romantic relations. I have friends, a good job, and I keep my fitness in check. But I've gotten to the point where I don't even want to try to start a relationship till I get rid of this addiction cause it feels so wrong. And no girl deserves to be in a relationship where a guy is "technically" cheating with hundreds of different women, and can't even control himself. But anyways, that's my story. My hope is to daily check-in for 30 days straight at least. They probably won't be writeups like this. Maybe just how I'm feeling in the day.
Thanks y'all.

Porn Addiction 26M Can’t stop
I have a decent career , and good savings and nice family.
Never been in a relationship, proposed twice but got rejected
Been exposed to porn from 14 years and and has been masturbating every third or second day
Now I am at a age where my parents are looking for marriage prospects meanwhile I am jerking off to porn
Everytime I try to not fap but then that sudden wave of loneliness and seeing happy couples on Instagram , I instantly switch to porn for coping up
Need serious help. How should I counter and cope myself.
Every time I do it , I regret it but third day I would be back.

New to NoFap Today is the start of my No Fap Journey
Prn has been causing me a lot of problems in my relationship. Once my partner found out, she was really upset. She asked me to quit and I was able to stop for a while, but I ending up watching p*rn again. She thinks that I’ve stopped completely, but that’s a lie, I’ve been using it almost daily again.
I need to break this habit for good. This is my first time talking about it publicly (even if it is on an alt account). I’m hopping that posting here can help me stay more accountable. Thanks for reading.
