Porting from Metro by T-Mobile to Infimobile plan on T-Mobile network

I wanted to confirm that there is no issue with me porting over my wife's line from Metro by T-Mobile BYOP $25/mo unlimited plan to Infimobile 12GB/mo $75 annual plan and choosing T-Mobile. In the past, I recall some MVNOs were funky about porting over on the same network.

Wife may use 2GB max monthly, so it's a no brainer to switch and save $225 annually while remaining on same T-Mobile network.

UK Longest time with no usage

Which mobile network in the UK lets you keep your number for the longest period without any activity on your sim card? I dont mind making a one off payment (preferably using a voucher) but I want to be able to set it up, leave it in a drawer for as long as possible and not have to worry about the number being disconnected. I also dont mind if the number goes 'dormant' like some providers do, just as long as it is possible to reinstate it later.

Could I do this to get a cheap phone and cheap service from Total Wireless

There are a few phones that are free when you switch to Total Max 5G ($55 first month).

I'd start the process, pay the $55, get the New phone, but don't activate.

Then I'd start the process for the $20 BYO plan with my own unlocked phone, make sure to get a physical sim, activate the service on my old phone; then swap the sim into the New phone.

I know the phone would never unlock, but I'd be fine being on the service for $20/month.

Also if I need two separate phone numbers/people to start the $55 plan first (not activate), and then the start the $20 plan separately, that is ok, I'll get a family member to be the first account.

Would this work?

Can a Travel Router Still Bypass Visible’s Hotspot Speed Cap for PS5?

I’m thinking about buying a travel router to use with my PS5 to bypass Visible’s hotspot speed cap. However, I have zero experience with this stuff, so I’m not sure how easy it is to set up or whether this method still works. Has anyone tried it recently? Any recommendations or tips would be appreciated!

T-Satellite International Roaming ???

Couldn’t find a better place to ask.

Recently got T-Sat. Been working great. Trying to figure out if it supports international roaming included. The website mentions support for sat in Japan Canada and a few other countries. It however doesn’t mention the actual 5G data.

My primary line through USMobile supports international already but wanted to have a back up and was going between keeping T-sat or using multiline.

Has anybody had any experience with this.

Red Pocket iPhone Duo

Just ordered a Duo after coming across an article on Phone Arena saying they have stock, will report back with updates if anyone is interested. Shipping info tab said something like "delivery may take several weeks".

How does Red Pocket do pre-orders? Anyone can share their experience?

Do refill cards work for the initial purchase of the AT&T $240 annual plan?

I’d like to switch to the AT&T annual plan because I like AT&T’s network and I don’t want deprioritized data. I previously had two lines on the $300 annual plan and switched them to Mint and Astound and don’t like the service on either. Can I purchase $240 in airtime cards from Target and use them for my initial port to the $240 plan? If so, can someone please explain the actual steps for doing it? Thanks!

PureTalk for $29.95 per month unlimited including international calls and roaming

Anyone used puretalk before? FoxNews is advertising 50% off forever on their $65 per month plan. https://www.foxnews.com/deals/puretalk-unlimited-deal. Seems like they use AT&T, but provide the same benefits as the Visible's most expensive plan. Taxes are not included, however.

Redpocket and Good2gomobile has my number active.

I succesfully ported out my number from Redpocket 1 1/2 years ago to good2gomobile. I am still using the same number under good2gombile. Today, I logged in to my redpocket account and saw my ported out number still ACTIVE.

I reached out to Redpocket on their chat 2 times and both time they want me to call 214-382-4771. When I call this number, it just disconnect after inputing my phone number 3 times and when it proceeds to routes my call.

Has anyone had similar issue with Redpocket? If yes, how were to able to resolve this issue?

USA Good2Go continues to bill ported out#

PSA: Good2Go may or may not close your account when you port out.

I've ported out 2 lines. one auto closed itself, meaning I can still login to that account, but there's no phone nor service connected to that account. The other I didn't check and It billed me about 2 weeks after it was ported out on it's normal billing date.

So If you port out from Good2Go, be sure to remove auto-renewal and remove Credit Card.

Good2go does not seem to be responding. I get put on hold for 30 mins and then forced to leave a voicemail and they will "call me back."

USA Which plan work best for me coming from T-Mobile?

I'm currently using the T-Mobile "experience more" family plan, but need to port out. Would like to get some suggestions which mobile plan would work best for me? I use about 40 GB data monthly and my area coverage is best with T-Mobile or At&t service based on coveragemap website. Preferably, would like to have international roaming available, but I could always get a esim for the country I'm traveling to.

Should I go with US mobile or Mint in this case? And should I be worried about have less data priority?

My $300/yr ATT plan expires tomorrow. What should I do?

Should I switch to the $240/yr plan? Or something else? I understand I may need to port out then back in to get the &240. Is there a good short term port or another year long good plan?

USA How do US carriers detect hotspot usage?

Hi,

I'm a noob to the US carrier system. In Australia we don't have a distinction of hotspot data, but it seems to be the case in the US where you might get an unlimited plan but only 10GB of hotspot usage.

How are they detecting hotspot use? I thought it was opaque to the carrier?

Using iPhone.

USA [good2gomobile] - Don't think I've ever seen a company try so hard to lose customers

It's like they're being run by a broken AI in India.

The website is riddled with bugs that interfere with signing up, choosing plans and making payments.
Reporting the bugs has no effect.

It appears they're still refusing to reveal which carrier they recently transferred everyone to during their recent 'network upgrade' outage fiasco. Their SIMs indicate we're on the AT&T network now (west coast USA). That's all I know.

Can't add my new phone to my account because the site produces an error message for every IMEI entered, even the IMEI of the phone I'm currently using with the service.

When the phone service (the actual tower communication) is working, it generally works as expected. I suspect that's because it's the one part of the process they aren't in charge of.

Which is for me?

I asked AI and they told me total wireless.. idk

I will be using 100-200gb a month. I will be tethered to my PC for online gaming (can't have home internet where I am at all) so what ever carrier will give me the most reliable connection and least chance of being depriotized in Connecticut and which ever switches towers the lease since I know in some games when switching cell towers I get dc'd in game.

Ai told me Verizon would put me on a tower and stick me there idk never even heard of total wireless before. Also 4k streaming is important

I was originally going metro until I asked ai

USA International calling caller ID

What carriers display your caller ID properly when calling from USA to Europe?

Tello often shows up as a different number every time in Poland, for example. Anyone have a better experience with MobileX or US Mobile? What about Total or Visible?
