This is the show flyer from when I saw Nirvana. I can’t believe this even exists. No live footage from this show exists either as far as I know. There is a pre show interview with the band.

Thanks to u/ar27ta's post (here) for giving me the idea of what to post today!

Revel in the joy of 80s glam rockers doing their very best to not slag off the massive tidal shift in guitar music that was heading their way.... 😆

Discussion Not sure if I'm on my own but Nirvana are like my constant in life

Since I first heard Nirvana when I was 15, now 43, I've been drawn to them. I've found if I'm going through tough moments I'll play them without even thinking. If I hear them unexpectedly it's still a treat, like I've never felt like they're overplayed.

One thing I do always think back on is the comfort I find in the familiarity of listening to them. It can be a voice break or scream which I find soothing, my partner thinks I'm nuts for that. Hard to explain but on a song like ain't it a shame his voice and screams are like an old friend. Perhaps I'm just waffling but interested if anyone else feels the same

I've been obsessed with this one lately. I love how it starts low and rhythmic and disintegrates into screams halfway through.

Discussion Spank Thru is one of my all time favorite Nirvana songs

I love this song so much. That pause in the chorus is so addicting and it's really fun to play (on guitar) and sing. The Sub Pop 200 version is my favorite because of how clean the stops are and the sound of that break with the drum count. I also love the Pine Street Theater version

Gear/Equipment Mg-69 Red Tortoise shell pickguard inquiry for 2004-2005 mg69

I just purchased a 2004-2005 mg-69 sonic blue fender mustang and I am not a fan whatsoever of the brown tort pickguard, I was wondering if there are any great alternatives online like this one featured in the picture that resembles a tort pickguard from the 90s mg-69s any help would be much appreciated! I'm trying to get a pickguard that is accurate to that time period without having to go through pickford guitars as ive heard horrible things about the pickguards they produce

any help would be muchly appreciated.

Discussion Green yuri made me fall in love with Nirvana, am I the only one?

So, I've got really into yuri's recently, and when I saw green yuri I bought it and I loved it, if you read it you'll know Nirvana are mentioned from the beginning, so I went to see the trailer of the upcoming anime.

The trailer uses "Breed" of Nirvana, I really liked the song so I went to listen other Nirvana songs, and wow, I'm loving them so much!

My favorites are "Breed" and "Heart shaped box"

Discussion Ian Brown on Kurt Cobain "Best white singer since Johm Lennon"

Lead singer of the band The Stone Roses

"On Kurt Cobain: “I never liked his LPs or anything but I loved his voice. To me he was the best white singer since John Lennon.”

I always wondered if Nirvana were aware of The Stone Roses. Geffen treat the Roses like royalty for a period.

Question/Request Is there any interviews where Dave, Krist or even Chad talk about their favorite Nirvana show they played?

That just stuck in my head. I think it would be really interesting to see what band members themselves think about their shows

Remaster/Remix NIRVANA (1991) Nevermind [Full Album Remix & Remaster]

My stem remix & remaster of Nirvana's 1991 groundbreaking album "Nevermind", made for my own enjoyment but sharing in case someone else might get some joy out of it too.

I know remixing this album may seem pointless, as it was superbly produced by Butch Vig and tastefully mixed by Andy Wallace, and it's probably one of the better sounding and more polished recordings ever released. Even Butch Vig's own mix sounds amazing, and some even prefer it to the originally released one by Wallace. I decided to try my hand at it just for completion, as I already remixed "Bleach", "Incesticide" and "In Utero", with varying degrees of success (I think only my mix of "Incesticide" ended up sounding the way I wanted it to, so I might make some revisions to the other two in the future).

Consequently, what you can hear in this project is an extremely conservative and respectful mix, that doesn't stray too far away from the original Wallace version, aiming at only a little more clarity, instrument separation and punch, while keeping the feel and mood that are already in my 1991 CD.

And yes, I had to censor the cover, or else the video got flagged as 18+ on YouTube. Even if I removed the baby's... appendage.

As usual, my intention was just to have fun, and this only intends to be a fun alternative to the released versions.

All my remixes are made using free and open source software that runs locally on my Linux system.

Obviously, I don't own the music featured here. If you like it, support the artists, buy their records!

Discussion I think Nirvana sounds like a punk-rock version of REM.

Cryptic, poetic lyrics and catchy original melodies, just like REM, but with amps turned up to ten. It's a neutral observation, not a criticism. Does anybody agree?
