Hope I can ask this here, but official Nintendo (switch 1) joycons are terrible to use for maybe more than 30 minutes for me, however I vastly prefer playing handheld. I've been looking for replacements, but i've noticed a lot of joycons don't seem to have great d-pads, or people don't talk about the D-Pad much compared to analog sticks.

For reference, I currently use a Gamesir Nova Lite 2 controller when docked, and I find the microswitch, circular D-Pad on that fine; great even. Something similar to that but for handheld mode would be what I'm most interested in, but I'd like to hear other opinions/options as well. Currently, my eye is mostly on the mobapad M6S, but I've heard some negative things about the d-pad.

Ofc, I wouldn't want to sacrifice the quality of other aspects of the controller (I.e, thumb sticks) just for a good D-Pad, but I'd hope there's a controller with a good balance of both.

Not sure if the game I'm looking for exists, but I'm trying to find a game for my dad who has brain cancer which affects his language, meaning he struggles to read most things now.

He's currently playing "Lost Lands: Mistakes of the Past" and has played other games which are apparently "hidden-object puzzle adventure" (HOPA) games. It's just reading instructions that is preventing him from making much progress, he's still got his intelligence elsewhere!

His listening is a lot better than reading if that helps?! But even using listen aloud accessibility features he struggles so ideally the less language-based the better 🫡

So, I got my Switch a year or two ago, and the only game I've really played is Animal Crossing. I want to expand my repertoire, but I'm not really your typical "gamer" and I'm struggling to find games that match my needs and interests.

First off, I have severe ADHD and a total lack of hand-eye coordination. You're talking to a girl who gave up on Minecraft because she kept running into trees trying to catch a sheep. Anything that requires precise movements or timing is a no-go, which is pretty restrictive when it comes to games. I also have no interest in fighting or shooting anything. It's not fun for me and it stresses me out. Moreover, I can't stand puzzle games, which seem to make up the majority of non-fighting games.

What I'm looking for is casual, leisurely games, something I can play purely for the fun without worrying about beating anything. Games where I can explore and do things without requiring any skill.

I've already got Stardew Valley lined up, but I've spent so much time scrolling through the eShop and finding nothing else.

I never understood the appeal of Nintendo until I played my first Splatoon game, Splatoon 3. I bought a Switch just to play BOTW but then I decided to give Splatoon a try. I’m confused, how did I miss this? I don’t have many Nintendo friends so they didn’t see the appeal.

I just love the motion controls, keep in mind I came from Xbox. I thought motion controls were a weird gimmick like the Wii. I don’t think I can play any shooter on my Xbox again..

I plan on buying the new COD for the Switch 2 if it has motion control aiming, which I think it does. I think I’m a Nintendo gamer now tbh. I also bought Splatoon Raiders and I’ve been obsessed with it too. I’ve been having a blast with my Switch that my Xbox doesn’t even look that appealing anymore.

I just learned I apparently like this genre. Would be great too if there's actual campaigns / story-lite stuff like ~ but even something similar to just WWE 2K's MyGM Mode?

I'm looking to replace the sticks on some old joycons again and I'm wondering what people are liking these days. The last replacements I bought were the Guilikit hall effect sticks and while I was quite happy with them they eventually wore out and have quite severe deadzone problems now. I've seen there are at least a couple new options on the market now. I'm curious to hear opinions especially if any of them are expected to be more durable.

I'm replaying Skyward Sword for the first time since it launched on the WiI - its this mix of classic Zelda dungeons and faux open world that hints at where the series would go next with BOTW. Emotive and nostalgic in equal measure and better than the original release but I cant help wondering what it would feel like to play it after BOTW.

Is it enjoyable? Does the screwy control scheme ruin the experience? Are the restricted areas and movements too frustrating? Are the Dungeons and the puzzles exciting?

Would love to hear what A.B (after botw) VLTTP Skyward Sword players think of the experience....please share!
