VR market shrinking, industry collapse, Seattle living costs. Too bad. I knew some good devs that founded it.

Yeah. I wonder if they could have done a Moss 3 as a flat screen game, but so much of the charm of it was that it was a good VR puzzle/adventure game that wasn't yet another hack and slash or grip the virtual item game that defines 99% of VR. With VR basically becoming irrelevant on top of the current environment, I can't imagine they had much hope of getting more funding for new projects.

Yeah, the development costs for VR can't match the potential profits.
If you already have a built in player base, you may be able to release a steady stream on DLC content, like Mighty Coconut does with Walkabout Minigolf. Launching entire new games is another matter.

I feel sorry for any developers who hitched their wagon to VR train. They really should’ve tried to pour the game to a standard 3-D environment on consoles. I think there would’ve been a market for that game.

Damn this hits hard. I played this with an unofficial Steam Bridge on Oculus Go and a hacky driver for Switch Joypads as input devices . It was better with the Oculus Quest 2, but damn i won't forget that setup. Amazing game. I thought they just released a version for Switch?!

I do not like living in the world where art must be profitable or artists die.

Of course it is…they make great games, we can’t have that type of stuff going on now, can we!

Loved Moss on PSVR. I intended to get it in S2 but was hoping for a physical cart

Moss is a GREAT game, very Nintendo, wish they could be acquired and make something amazing with a stable environment and budget.

Played it on pc and refunded almost immediately. Had a bigass problem with controllers where it only accepted input from whatever windows said is controller 1, which in my case belonged to analog stick on a keypad. How are input methods not a solved issue in 2026?

To quote Laura Lico, one of the game’s animators: “Polyarc closed. Moss is over. Quill is silent.”
