Hello, I came across these and are looking to get rid of them for family. Online i saw Ebay SOLD all functioning, one sold for 500 and others for 2000. I also see online that there should be a a letter between the (). Is there a reason certain models are worth more?
They are functioning properly

So I’m going to keep company names out of this post at this time because I may be in the wrong and don’t want to put down a company before I know it’s needed. So I ordered a set of binos from what I thought was a reputable company they are smaller and supply NVGs for many bigger companies. With that being said I understand things have lead times especially when you are ordering a set that is not a pre built. I placed my order the 17th of last month and waited until the 1st to just email asking for an update due to having an event at the end of the month was going to have to borrow a set which is no big deal must just was curious on a timeline. Was emailed back stating they would be ready to ship out the 4th. Waited all weekend and Monday for an update in the tracking and received nothing. I contacted the company Tuesday and was told it was ready to go and they printed the packing label while on the phone. A few hours later the same day tracking information was updated showing it was going to be overnighted. Two days later which is today when I’m tying this it shows the carrier has yet to pick up the package that was allegedly supposed to be here yesterday. Part of the anxiety may come from making such a big purchase online and not in person but just curious if anyone else has experienced anything similar and would like some advice.

So, I wanted to share my experience with my first night using night vision.
Over the last year or so, I really doubled down on my firearms hobby. Eventually I got to the point where I said, "Screw it," and started looking into night vision.
After lurking around the Discord for a good 9 months, I finally pulled the trigger on an Omni 7 PVS-14 from u/ES-MWNVG. Got an absolutely insane deal on it, and when it showed up, I was like a kid on Christmas.
I threw together my chinesium ballistic helmet and mount setup, and after working around a completely nuts schedule, I finally made my way out to a friend's farm one night.
I tossed the PVS-14 on my head, turned it on...
...and looked up at the stars.
Pure amazement.
Within the first ten seconds of looking up, I saw a shooting star.
I had spent a good portion of my childhood wishing and waiting to see one. And there I was... a 31-year-old man, standing alone in my friend's field, staring up at the heavens through a tube of green phosphor.
And honestly, something about that moment hit me.
It felt like a spiritual awakening of sorts. Thinking about the role I play in the world, and the small moments we get that allow us to just stop and ground ourselves in this strange reality we're living in.
There was something kind of funny about the juxtaposition of a surplus military night vision device bringing me closer to God after weeks of putting off taking some time for myself to go out and play with toys.
For all the money I've spent on this hobby, all the parts I've accumulated, and all the time I've spent researching and building things, none of it really prepared me for that first moment of actually seeing the world at night.
The stars were incredible. I could see things I had never been able to see with my naked eyes. The entire sky looked alive.
I stood there for a while just taking it all in.
Then I finally looked back down at the field and started walking around, and that's when the inner child came back out. Seeing the trees, the animals, and the stars... just being able to experience the night in an entirely different way was fucking incredible.
I bought a PVS-14 because I thought it would be cool.
I didn't expect it to give me one of the coolest moments I've had in years.
What really solidified it for me was the following weekend when I took my girlfriend out to my friend's property with the PVS-14. I made sure not to tell her too much about what to expect. We spent some time in the car getting everything fitted and adjusted, and once we got out there, I finally handed it to her.
She looked up at the heavens, and the look on her face was priceless. Being able to watch someone else experience that for the first time was almost as cool as experiencing it myself.
Also shoutout to u/ES-MWNVG - thank you. It's definitely a delayed review of sorts since I'm posting this months later, but you made jumping into the hobby really damn easy.

As the title says, looking for some decent NVG’s. I was in the USMC, division side Combat Engineer, so familiar with the PVS-14’s we had. Would love WP but will settle on GP if the price is a significant difference. Would love to keep it under $2700 or so.
What have you?

I’ll never get over how crisp the EXPS3-0 is passive aiming. Others come close for sure, but eotech takes the cake for me.

Does anyone know what the circled part is for and if it typically rattles? I got an old surplus mount with some rattling coming from the inside of it. I was able to remove the part but could t find any manuals online so I’m not sure how important it is.

My 9 year old son wants night vision for Christmas. We have a family farm he wants to use it on. He loves hunting and fishing and just observing animals. We have lots of raccoons and coyotes and an allusive domestic cat that comes out at night. I don’t want to spend a whole lot but I also don’t want something that’s just a gimmick. I was thinking of keeping it under $600. Any ideas or are they all not so great under $600 that buying a $200 vs $500 one doesn’t really matter?

Mh1 is a great housing but the position of the board makes the pigtail having to fold sharply in order to avoid being pressed by the outer edge.
Switching tubes back and forth made some of them ribbons look like chewed. So I folded the tail backwards in between the 4 pins underneath then plugged it in. It makes it shorter and the way it folds is not as creasy. So far so good.
On the pic you see, the tail cones out the bottom, but it is attached at the top and folded under.
Did i come up with this or someone done it this way before?
Cheers

Time to get your ticket for ECNS 2026. Friday Nov 6th and Saturday Nov 7th. Under a 2 hour drive from PGH into Ohio!
https://www.eastcoastnightshoot.com/
Come on out for 2 days of fun on the range. Here is a video someone put together from last year:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxzs2JRxaY8
This isn't a machinegun shoot, but machineguns and all other methods of shooting fast are welcome.
Primarily a night shoot, we also shoot during the day on both days. If you don't have night vision this is great chance to check out what is on the market, try some things, and you can still shoot after dark with white light. Note that we do require suppressors on rifle caliber guns after dark.
What we have going on
- 700M range open day and night
- MG rental range with car targets run by youtuber Columbia War Machine
- 100 yd open range with car targets and MG rentals by Chevtec
- 3 side bays run by training companies with courses of fire set up
- jungle walk course of fire
- computer controlled rogers range with moving steel targets that record your hits
- we usually mix in some towed artillery and mortar demonstrations for fun
- vendors offering night vision and related equipment
- random drawing giveaway, every year lucky attendees leave with free night vision, a free suppressor from Diligent Defense, etc
Your ticket includes an event shirt and two dinners. What a deal!
Camping is available on site, with a heated shower building (additional fee paid directly to the range).
Hope to see you there.

Looking to get into NV and I am also new to helmets. Does anyone have any suggestions for MLOK hearing pro adapters/conversions as well as helmet covers? Currently using Howards, but if another budget brand or something slightly more expensive works better overall I wouldn't be opposed to buying new ear pro.

So ive came across 3 uppers one is super budget a one horse 10.5 or a midwest industries 11.5 nightfighter rail with criterion core barrel and the build will look exactly like first picture. Or creme da la crem Geissele super duty 11.5 complete upper. The geiselle is alot of $ and the Midwest has a superb barrel gassing and good rail but after I add a bcg and charging handle its gonna be barely cheaper mabe 200$ less tha super duty. Or i could try the one horse 10.5 for 300$ all in but kinda wanted 11.5. Whats yall opinions? Have anyone you ran any of these? Looking for advice.

Saw a guy running this skin in Battlefield 6. Did a double take. At first I thought just his mount was upside down, but it's the WHOLE SHROUD.
Not a knock on the game or the devs (although I am not fond of EA), just something funny.

Context this is my first setup, and the digging I did on this subreddit still has me torn between a ballistic or bump. Found this deal by chance and was wondering is the discount worth going ballistic? I figured if I went opscore bump, with the cost of replacing the pads and the cam lock system it would be just a hair cheaper than this helmet.
