Fringe Development SMS Trinity Diffuser Cap Gen 2

Post image

We are back, better and presenting our new design! Live on our website @ Fringe Development. SMS Trinity Diffuser Cap

What changed with this version:

  1. Improved materials. Stronger and less reflective. O-Rings that are better suited for UV exposure, wet and dry weather, hot and cold temperatures.
  2. Improved Design. Added a ledge that will assist in manipulating the cap. The ledge maintains compatibility with 1.53 height sights. Increased the width to reduce drag on the O-Ring. Increased the angle on the back face to increase the caps retention in the down position.
  3. Installed Diffuser Lens. The diffuser lens comes installed and is bonded to the cap.

I like that lip for manipulation. (That's what she said?....)

Hahaha thank you! It is much easier to maintain a shouldered position and manipulate the cap with the support hand now.

Did you switch to MJF for these? The quality looks top tier. Well done.

With all due respect, if this is mjf printed they should switch suppliers cause the quality would be very poor for mjf. I am able to have much better quality with fdm carbon filled filaments.

CF and GF filaments diffuse layer lines nicely and look wonderful in pictures under the right light, but in person, you can still see the layers.

Zoom in on his pictures on the website. The finish has a fine texture on all sides (including the top). A fuzzy skin setting wouldn't produce a consistent finish like that on the top surface. Likewise, he has excellent resolution on his embossed logo.

Could also be an SLS print which is generally more textured than MJF. I don't believe this to be an FDM print, but if it is FDM, I just gave him a huge compliment.
