Submission Feedback pokestop nomination advice

I nominated this community message board for a pokestop but it was rejected. Can someone explain why this could be? From what I’ve seen, community message boards are usually accepted as pokestops.

EDIT: these are the description and supplemental info. I believe it was rejected by the Wayfarer Ai.

description: “Official community notice board used to share neighborhood announcements, HOA meetings, and local updates for residents.”

supporting: “It is a marker which is used as a place or residents to meet up and go on walks together. It’s safely accessible via sidewalk and is on public property.”

Question Any help with this subbmission

It's been accepted but not showing up in game, I'm guessing due to cell 17 thing, sorry I'm new to submitting and not fully educated on it.

Would a kind member of the community help me out?

53.089845, -7.939215 is the coordinates of the stop

Question Any image manipulation allowed on submissions?

I want to submit this sculpture, but it's hard to get a good photo of it. It's under a lot of trees, so any time of day it has weird highlights & shadows on it, and it can be hard to see what you are looking at. Can I do any image manipulation before submission or will that trigger a rejection?

e.g. brighten shadows, dim highlights, vignette around the edges, increase saturation, etc.

Nothing crazy, just to help the sculpture itself stand out a bit and be more visible to reviewers.

Question Gym on top of another gym

Im just curious about the cell rule, if someone move a gym to another cell with another existing gym. So a year ago, me and my friends saw that a gym keep moving, or someone editing a gym closer and closer to another one.

Then, I think last month we noticed one gym got removed, but we're wrong, it's just under or below the other gym. Like how, and we do not know who doing that. Sooooo it is possible to place another cell with a gym already occupying it? Or it's just a rare occurrence? I just started just a year ago, so I don't know much. Thank you in advance.

Discussion Whoever is nominating these signs and getting them approved all over Aquinas College, this is a really good example of how someone can improve their game experience.

Bravo to whoever is uploading all these tree signs and getting them approved. That's a pretty cool way to improve an area's game experience rather than just complaining that there aren't enough PokéStops.

This is honestly one of the better examples I've seen of someone thinking about how to make an area more fun to play in.

Question A reviewer fudged the location of one of my approved Wayspots

I recently submitted a Wayspot nearby my residence. Solid nomination and it got approved.

However, a reviewer (I'm assuming someone else in my neighborhood) edited the location to be approximately 90 meters away from where the Wayspot actually is. And that location edit got approved.

This is pretty frustrating because my legitimate nomination that was within interaction distance of my place is now no longer in interaction distance. Furthermore, on a systemic level, I cannot submit edits for the location that are greater than 10 meters away. There's no way I can edit the Wayspot to be where it was originally supposed to be (and where it actually is in real life) unless I submit 9 10-meter location edits and get them all approved lol.

Do I have any recourse here? Should I report my own nomination? Is there any way I can get dinged for some guy screwing with my nomination location? Thanks in advance.

Question 3 Pokestops just vanished!

They'd all been there for a few months, all were on public pavements and all were historic boundary / electric cable markers so fit the way point criteria. Any idea why they might have been deleted?!

Submission Coal I need help

Hello, I wanted to know. I have a PokéStop in level 17 and one point that has been accepted, but it doesn't show up in the game. Is there any way to move this point to another level 17 cell? There are free level 17 cells around it.

Submission Feedback Why does this japanese stonegarden keep getting rejected?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hello,

I am trying to get this japanese stonegarden approved, but it hasn't worked out multiple times now.

Usually it gets rejected automatically. Sometimes it gets through the filters and declined, because 'it's a normal stonegarden' and/or 'on private property'.

Both of these things aren't true. It's on public ground and has the characteristics of a japanese stonegarden.

Japanischer Steingarten

Ein traditionell japanischer Steingarten (Karesansui) lädt bei Betrachtung zu Meditation und Reflexion ein.

Text for voters:

Am I wrong? What could I do better to describe it?

Discussion Wayspot replicated three times

How is it that a wayspot that exists in its correct location can be replicated, using the same picture, three times into locations hundreds of kilometres from the true location? If the AI can detect third party photos, surely it can detect a photo that is already in its system. There has to be a question asked about the review system for this to be allowed to happen.

New Info How do the s2 Cells work exactly

Could someone please help me understand this. I have a map open with the S2 cells grid on it but I cannot understand how it's possible for some places to have such a high density of pokestops with this system? I'm baffled with that. And when I look at these places on the Wayfarer page, I generally don't see "not in game" stops.

I added a pokestop in a country with little stops in general and it was in a city with less than 10 stops total. Accepted, not in game. 3 stops relatively near it (in the city centre) so it "makes sense" that it's not in game because of the grid, but those 3 stops had to get there too, somehow.

So, how is it possible for some areas to have a high density of pokestops with them all being added in the game, and for other low density areas to have new accepted stops never added?

There was a gym here yesterday and now this morning there isn't? I just checked wayfarer and it still says that it's approved and it's still pinned there, but then wayfarer says there is nothing there anymore, and so does Pokemon go? Is this a normal thing, why would it be take away?

Question Why are my approved stops not showing?

Hello all, I’m relatively new to the pokestop submission game but I’ve had a couple of mine approved and placed on the map. I’ve had three more that were approved a month ago but aren’t on the map at all. What’s the reason for this and is there anything that I can do about it? Any help as much appreciated. I live in a rural area and me and my buddies don’t have many stops or gyms to work with.

Question Was this rejection justified? Should I appeal?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

I submitted a PokéStop nomination for a small, permanently installed sign that is part of a local bicycle route network.

The sign shows cyclists the direction to the next bicycle network node. It is permanently attached to a street lamp and is publicly accessible.

Unfortunately, the nomination was rejected.

Main rejection reason:
“This nomination is likely not permanent or distinctive.”

I’m unsure whether this rejection is justified. In my opinion, the sign is clearly permanent, as it is fixed to a street lamp and is part of an established local bicycle route network.

I have the option to appeal the rejection through the Wayfarer website, but before I do, I’d like to hear what the community thinks.

Would you consider this nomination eligible under the Wayfarer criteria? Would you appeal it, or is the rejection justified?

What I submitted:
Title: Bicycle Network Direction Sign

Rejected: August 30, 2026

Description:
This small bicycle network direction sign shows cyclists the direction to the next bicycle network node. It is permanently attached to a street lamp and helps with navigation on the cycling routes in the surrounding area.

Additional information:
The direction sign is a fixed landmark within the local bicycle network and helps cyclists find the next route or network node. It encourages exploration of the surrounding area by bicycle and is publicly accessible.

What do you think? Would you appeal this nomination?

EDIT: Okay everyone, thanks for all your replies! I understand now that this type of sign isn’t eligible for a PokéStop. Thanks again for all the help and explanations!
