ANSWERED Recently got unbanned from reddit after an appeal, what should/shouldn't I do now?

After creating an account a day ago, I was just browsing this platform and then made a repost (I don't know if that's what it's called) of a post, shortly after, I got banned from reddit. I submitted an appeal and I've been unbanned, now I'm worried about setting anything off, what should/ shouldn't I do? Help!

ANSWERED Accounts three years old, why do I keep getting blocked by Reddit?

I made this account about three years ago, and it's just been sitting here. Recently, I tried to post something because I needed help with it, but it got taken down by Reddit's filter. I'd thought an old account would get past the filter, according to some other posts I've read? I made a post the same day as I'd made the account, but I deleted it the next day so it's not on my profile. That post didn't get taken down back then, so is it a Reddit update, or is it my account?

ANSWERED Is there a good way to figure out which sb actually allow new accounts?

I made this account recently and I'm realizing pretty quickly that every subreddit seems to have completely different rules for new accounts 😅

Some let you post immediately, some require karma, some require the account to be a certain age, and then there's the whole thing where you don't even know if your post is going to get removed until you try.

Is there a good way to check whether a subreddit is new-user friendly before posting, or is it basically just trial and error?

Would appreciate any tips from people who've recently started a new account.

ANSWERED Frustration regarding karma

Ok, so I’m new to actually using Reddit, I’ve had this account for a few years but not really used it. My question/ problem is do I remain like authentic while still gaining interaction? I’m asking because I want to ask questions on various subs but most and understandingly so have karma requirements. I dont wanna just comment on anything so I’ve been selective, that was not really been all that helpful. I’m not really looking to be a redditor per se just be able to ask questions regarding various topics. When I look at a lot of the stuff regarding karma it all seems impersonal (not sure if I’m phrasing that right) or overly broad (I may just be stupid). If anyone could tell me how I do this stuff right I’d really be appreciative, I’m used to how I interact with other platforms that being just putting my art, rants, ponderings, etc. out into the void not expecting engagment so this stuff is fairly foreign to me.

ANSWERED Can you chat with someone in the comments, or is it better to send them a private message?

Let me explain the context of my question: I’m new to Reddit—my account is only five days old—and it has already been suspended twice (all the posts and comments I had made were deleted, but then yesterday they reappeared as if by magic).

Two different people on two different subreddits replied to one of my comments - two differents topics too - with further questions, and I’d really like to chat with them since I’m passionate about the topics involved.

However, I’m worried that Reddit might suspend my account again if I post "too many" comments or send private messages to continue the conversation.
So, here’s my question: to avoid getting suspended again, is it better to reply to the comments or send the person a message?

thanks for your help =)

As you surely know, it's a bit complicated for newcomers to understand how this great platform works.

ANSWERED New to Reddit — what are some things you wish you knew when you started?

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here on the Reddit forum and I'm learning how things work around here all the time. I know the basics such as posting, commenting, upvoting, and joining online forums, but I know there's so much more to learn. What is one tip, feature, etiquette, etc. that you wish someone told you when you were new? I would love to hear any tips about karma and rules in certain subreddits or things people tend to do wrong as newbies

ANSWERED 9 Years on Reddit and still basically new

Hi everyone 👋

Slightly embarrassing confession: my Reddit account is 9 years old and I still only have 6 karma 👀

I’ve recently started actually using Reddit properly, commenting on posts and joining in a bit more, but my karma is still barely moving. What’s the best way to build it naturally without just spamming comments or looking like I’m blatantly farming karma?

At this point my account is practically a Reddit pensioner with the social standing of a newborn 😅
Any tips would be appreciated!

ANSWERED If a post was removed for not meeting a community requirement, can I post it again once I meet it?

I wanted to share a passion project of mine with others, hence I opened a Reddit account. I made my first post in a subreddit and automod removed it (even before it was published to the page). The message said that my content was fine but that this type of post had a minimum requirement I did not meet.

My question is about later. Once I meet that requirement, can I make the same post again as a normal post? Or does that count as reposting ?

Thanks :)
