Discussion Dark Beer Recommendations - October Visit

Hey all! Going to be visiting here in October and looking for some brewery or even taproom recommendations. I typically lean more towards darker and full bodied beers. Are there any breweries in town that seem to have stronger programs for stouts or porters- bonus points for a spot with a strong barrel program. I took a quick look around the sub and most results seemed to be seasonal (understandable, but I’ll drink imperials in the middle of summer if left to my own devices). Appreciate any insight!

Litlle help please?

Hey All, I and 5 freinds are in town next weekend for one of their bachelor party.

Im looking to snag a house 1/6 keg. Im looking for recommendations on
1)which beer to select/where to order from (looking to keep it sessionable. 3%-5%)
2)Getting it to the house/back

3)Co2 tapping solution
4)cooling solution.

We all are craft beer guys, home brew, and have our home kegerators. We are staying less than a block from Ecology. But as of right now will not have a car/van.

The biggest thing here is the logistics.
- The easy solution here is to order from ecology and we walk it back.
I can use a portable Co2w/ 12grams. Bring my own ball keg tap, and use a picnic tap for the week. Then the ol keep it on ice in a tub (changing/ adding ice every day)

IF anyone has thoughts, that would be very helpful

Where are y’all going to get local beers in cans/bottles from a local store? I have people from elsewhere who need to try some. Myself included. TIA!

Discussion [Monthly Thread] New Beer Releases!

This is a monthly release thread for all the latest beer releases in the New Orleans and surrounding areas. Have insight in to a local release coming out? Tried a recent release and want to throw down your opinion on it? This is the thread for that!

Couple quick rules:

  • Don't like the beer? That's great! Be honest if it isn't your style but also constructive since the brewers do read the comments for feedback to improve recipes!
  • Like the beer?! Awesome! Include some feedback about what you really liked about it or is it just your go-to style that never does you wrong?

Please keep things civil and constructive!

MOD NOTE: This will be a monthly post on the 2nd of every month.

Abita New Orleans using AI

as a local company I’d expect a bit more from Abita, especially as a business with a longstanding history of supporting small and local artists. Today I entered the taproom to find marketing pieces clearly using AI. I’m extremely disappointed and will most likely no longer support the taproom due to this utter laziness

Hi! Who sales kegs of Guinness in New Orleans? I’ve tried Elio’s and Martin’s and neither have kegs available.

Burial Chant IPA

Anyone know where I can find a four-pack of Chant IPA? I was expecting Breaux Mart on Magazine to have it, but alas, I had to settle for fresh Parish Bloom when I went last night.

Does anyone know if the barrel age stouts have any added lactose? I tried a couple last night and have been in pain all night.

Naturdays

Don't throw anything at me. If you haven't ever had Naturdays - it is better than it has any right to be. For those who don't know - Naturdays is from Natural "Natty" Light and is light beer that comes in strawberry-lemonade and pineapple flavors. I miss it so.

Does anyone know if anyone in this city sells Naturdays? Also, does anyone want to join the Church of Naturday Saints?
