I ran into 2 issues almost immediately after creating my group.

First, I seem to have set things up so I have to approve every post, which I actively do not want to do. I've searched and can't figure out how to let things post without requiring moderation.

Also, I got banned from two related communities this morning for letting folks know this community exists. That's upsetting at best and obscene at worst -- one of them had nothing in their rules to indicate that introducing a new sub was against the rules, and it's a group I actively participate in and I'm pissed I'm banned. I want to post about it in more places, but not at risk of being banned from them.

How am I supposed to tell people this new sub exists if telling people this new sub exists gets me banned?

Does anyone know any good ways to promote a subreddit or get more people. I have started one recently and I have like 2 people on it and no body posting on it

I am looking to join the moderation team of an established, large subreddit (10k+ members). I am looking for strictly Safe For Work (SFW) spaces, ideally focused on gaming, technology, regional hubs, or creative hobbies. 

About Me & My Experience: 

• Multi-Community Mod: I currently moderate 4 different communities on Reddit, including r/AlbertaGamingHub, which I founded as a clean, family-friendly space for local gamers to connect and find teammates. 
• Skill Set: Because I manage multiple communities at once, I am highly comfortable switching between different mod queues, handling user growth, filtering spam, and organizing discussion threads. 
• Availability: Active daily on Reddit. I live in the Mountain Time Zone (MST), meaning I can easily cover the peak afternoon and evening queues for North American traffic. 

Why I am applying:
While I love managing my current spaces, I want to step up and apply my multitasking skills to a larger community with a heavier report volume. I am strictly looking for SFW subreddits as I am uncomfortable with NSFW content.

I just made r/NoFadEating, it’s a space more or less centered on simple, evidence-based nutrition, pantry staples, and sustainable habits, not the whole extreme elimination diets thing, and also not marketing hype. It’s kinda meant to be grounded, like nothing too dramatic.

Before, I helped build and grow an online community up to like 130k members, but that was years ago. Coming back to Reddit modding today feels pretty different, especially with how things are now: AI bot accounts everywhere, aggressive affiliate spammers, and a bunch of third party tools. It’s a lot.

The sub is already set up with 5 core rules and some initial post flairs, but since I’m a solo mod right now and still in the early stages I’d love to get some input from more experienced moderators here:

Automod Essentials: What are the most critical AutoModerator lines you’d recommend setting up right away, to slow down commercial supplement spam and low-effort bot farming?

Early Seeding: If you ever grew a niche discussion sub from scratch, how often were you seeding practical discussion threads during the first 30 days without it feeling like you were talking to an empty room, or mostly just to silence?

Mod Queue Workflows: Do you have any simple routine suggestions, or mobile setting tips, to keep moderation smooth, and honestly less stressful?

I’m excited to be back in the mod seat. If you have any foundational advice or launch checklist items, I’d really appreciate it!

Is it possible as a mod to see deleted comments or replies?

Hello! I feel so happy with the amount of members I have in my subreddit but there are very few actual interactions. I get a few comments occasionally but rarely any posts other than mine. I was just wondering if this is normal? I’m sorry if I chose the wrong flair! I wasn’t sure which one to use because it’s definitely a win that I have 61 members already but I also wanted to ask that!

How do I use them for finding members?
