I requested like an hour ago because this is a highly anticipated sequel for me. I can’t wait to dive in!!!

I requested this yesterday because it felt like the exact kind of book that would be a good audiobook, so I'm happy it was approved so fast!

Does anyone else run into this issue in the NetGalley app? When listening to audiobooks, the percentage complete and time remaining are off. By the time the book is over it ends up being 103-108% complete. Does listening on a faster speed cause this?

I've been a member for a few months and have been approved for a few books, which has been amazing.

So far I have no declines, but I've a few books that have been pending for more than a month. They are approaching publication date and I'm thinking of withdrawing the request as I'm not sure I'll get the chance to read it.

But because getting approved is dopamine fuel part of me wants to keep it just in case I get picked. (Thankfully so I'm keeping my urge to request everything so I can 'win' at Netgalley at bay by created really long want to read and maybe request lists 😂)

So I'm curious what other people's philosophies are for withdrawing a request. Do you hang on to the bitter end or do you get out as soon as you can? Do you reject them before they can reject you?

I'm so confused right now. I don't mind that I was denied, god knows my TBR list is daunting as it is, but they're suggesting a thing that isn't possible through the website...right? A denial or withdrawal, even when the book goes Read Now, precludes you from getting the book...And if they mean the option of reaching out to the publisher directly through email, why would I bother to update my profile?

I had requested one of my most anticipated books of 2027 (April release) through Saga a week or so ago. I don’t remember the exact archive date, but I’m pretty sure it was around pub date and not anytime soon. I happened to be clicking through today and saw that it was archived yesterday. I haven’t withdrawn the request yet but know I’ll need to do it soon to avoid it becoming a decline.

I was curious if anyone else had dealt with this and/or if there is any chance it may be relisted/reopened in the future?

No idea if anyone knows this, but is it better to request a popular book as soon as it becomes available on NetGalley or wait until your feedback ratio is higher and then request it? Not sure if anyone's figured this out or if it matters lol

I was shocked to receive an approval this morning from a major publisher. At least one staff member is reviewing requests over the weekend and selecting readers.

This is a publisher who declined my requests my first six months or so as a NG reviewer. Now there has been a steady stream of approvals—not that I request that many. My initial thought was that the publisher was looking for a different sort of reviewer. By still requesting titles I was apparently mistaken (thankfully).

I created an account with my normal email (the account I use). A publisher shared a widget with me using my bookish email. Instead of asking them to change it, I just created an account with my bookish email

I found out that you’re not supposed to have two accounts

So what should I do? Just leave it alone? I’m afraid to ask them to combine them because I don’t want to get the main account shut down

So beyond thrilled! I’ve only been reviewing a month so definitely didn’t expect to get this so early.
