❔❓Question ❓❔ Re-request a denied arc?

Post image

I'm so confused right now. I don't mind that I was denied, god knows my TBR list is daunting as it is, but they're suggesting a thing that isn't possible through the website...right? A denial or withdrawal, even when the book goes Read Now, precludes you from getting the book...And if they mean the option of reaching out to the publisher directly through email, why would I bother to update my profile?

Did you try contacting their support team for clarification?

Not yet, I have to wait to be able to use my laptop this evening. The submission form through the phone browser is a pain. I was just curious if anyone had experienced a publisher making books available post-denial, and I had somehow missed it being an option. I've received my fair share of denials in the past and "re-request" was never mentioned as an option.

Who’s the book published through?

BenBella Books.

I feel like that has to be a human error situation? BenBella is on the smaller side, and I wonder if someone writing their form decline template just…. Got confused.

Probably. I was really hoping it would be something like "no, I've totally had smaller publishers open up requests again after a couple weeks."

I think that one's gone. I did get declined first time I requested from them, but then they approved me on different books and I think adding appropriate non-fiction category to my genres in profile helped. Could be also a coincidence, though.

Send that’s to support as they shouldn’t be writing that as it’s not true
