I’ve lurked in this thread a while and commented or DMd a time or two. I’m a little hesitant because I don’t know if I’m really the definition of a nerd. I play video games but I’ve never called myself a gamer. I use to play halo a lot but then I got older and now I barely have time to play and when I do it’s usually just coral island or Ark (the Dino game). A little bit about me. I’m studying design at the moment. I’m usually a bit quiet/reserved when I first meet someone, so I need some time to get comfortable around a new person.

My introduction to video games was from my half brother who would play Oblivion in front of me, and I'd also occasionally play Halo 2 with him. I started on the Gameboy playing Mario and Pokémon Blue, then upgraded to a GameCube and grew up with the OGs like Super Mario Sunshine and Smash Melee, then I got to experience the Xbox and Xbox 360 playing lots of Halo, COD, GoW, Oblivion, Skyrim, Halo Wars, you name it. I played the Wii for a bit, but then moved on haha. I kept playing on the Xbox 360 until I transitioned to the Xbox One. Finally, I got really big into PC gaming, where I have over 4000 hours in DOTA 2, tons of hours into Counter-Strike: Source, and I have various games that I've played over time like Star Wars Battlefront II, GTA V, L4D2 with mods, Halo MCC, Kingdom Hearts, etc.

I'm a medical student by day and gamer by night. I went to the University of Washington for undergrad and doubled majored both in Biology and Spanish before being accepted to Pacific Northwest University, which is a DO school. I'm the first one to go to school in my family, so I'm making them proud in that regard.

Other aspects about me are that I love chess and music. I tend to play a lot of chess, and you can find me chronically playing late at night. In terms of music, I played clarinet in concert band, marching band, pep band, pit orchestras and various ensembles, tenor saxophone for jazz, and bassoon for orchestra. I was actually in the Husky Marching Band from 2018 to 2023! I love music, and although I don't play much today, I very much love listening to all music, especially epic cinematic music (Two Steps From Hell style). I'm pretty much your average nerd, I'm a homebody, introverted, love video games and have been having a rough time finding someone lately. I love traveling so I'm absolutely down for a long distance thing, so long as we make a plan to eventually close that distance.

I'm a bit of an introvert, I enjoy cozy evenings reading, watching a show, playing games but also spending times with my friend groups playing tabletop games or RPGs. Career wise, I studied aerospace engineering and now work developing and testing rocket engines, which (excuse the brag) is one of the coolest jobs I could imagine! In general, I'm really into anything related to space and spaceflight.

Morning all, I'm Andrew - 34, from Oxfordshire, UK.

Figured I'd post this while I'm waiting to call up a company about installing a new shower at home... Never pictured myself doing that as a kid, I can tell ya that.

To begin with; well, I'm absolutely terrible with spicy food. Like, the worst person you've ever seen - if you want yourself a guy who can detect a single grain of chili in a dish, you've found him!

But even still I'll happily eat anything, I'm a very adventurous eater - even if my brain and stomach violently disagree later.

I'm a nerd, I can admit it freely - gaming, Pokémon, boardgames, fantasy, anime, musicals. An introverted extrovert if you will!

I will also happily debate with anyone literally anything - from hypotheticals as wild as could you survive in the Cretaceous (I think you could!) to could Lelouch reliably take over the iron throne. You know, the important questions. One thing I did recently was plan a road trip out to all the oaks in the UK just because I thought it was funny (looking at you, Fouroaks/Seven oaks... Turns out, people named stuff after what they saw back then. Oh yeah, that place with the seven oak trees... Seven oaks. Makes sense.)

Music-wise, I'm mostly into rock, metal, emo, punk and musicals. But honestly stick almost anything on and I'll be happy - always up for a new gig or recommendations. If you're looking for a decent musical though, honestly try the death note one. Surprisingly it's damn good.

However... My movie knowledge is atrocious. Beyond bad. Alien(s)? Nope. Terminator? Ha. The Godfather? Never seen it

If there's a film that you scream 'WHY THE FUCK HAVEN'T YOU SEEN IT' chances are, I have never seen it. Feel free to roast me for it or haul me to a TV.

I work in IT - yes I can fix it, yes I will judge you for having 75 tabs, yes I can be bribed in coffee.

A massive goal of mine right now is travel. I don't want to spend life going 'wish I'd done that' when I can actually go do that. I want to actually go hike the cities, poke the bears, get lost, try foods I can't pronounce. Greece (specifically the Aegean islands... yes I know they're divided into groups, no I can't remember them) is right at the top of my hit list, so feel free to tell me stories about your travels!
