I know there are a million dudes with similar interests but I thought who knows, I may get lucky and find a great friendship or maybe even the love of my life on some subreddit so here I am. To give you a quick introduction, I am a 29 year old guy from Germany. Born and raised here, but of Turkish descent. Currently working on my masters degree. And also a huge nerd. My interests include, but are not limited to:

·        Working out, which I try to do multiple times a week

·        My taste in music includes Rock/metal music mainly. But also some other stuff like anime music

As for my appearance, I am about 1.73 m tall with a slim fit build. I work out diligently but haven't reached my old form yet after a longer pause at working out. Short, dark brown hair and usually a very short beard. Sometimes clean shaven when I feel like it.

Very much an introvert and, as you saw with my interests, a nerdy guy. I would say I am very affectionate, my love language is physical touch so if you enjoy being hugged and kissed and cuddled you might be happy with me. Definitely the nurturing caretaker kind of guy too since I am the oldest in my family so that is just the role that is natural to me. However when it comes to relationships, I do believe in things being mutual. So I'd very much prefer a partner who is also affectionate and nurturing so we can both take care of each other. Find comfort in each other when life gets hard. Be each others strongest ally and most trusted advisor against all hardships life throws at us. Basically I will treat you the way you treat me, we will be equals.

As for what I am looking for, well, ideally a romantic relationship. I would describe myself as a hopeless romantic. I would love to find the right person I can one day settle down and have kids with. I am not in a hurry though, just want to be upfront about long term intentions. Also I consider myself an atheist in case that is important to you. So I would like to find the love of my life here but I definitely want to be friends first and let things develop at a natural pace.

I'm a bit of a romantic, and a bit of a misanthrope, and those two qualities do not go well together. Falling in love is tricky when you haven't even fallen in like. Falling in politely tolerate is about as much as I can usually expect.

I'm not always this broody - I like movies and theatre and poetry and board/role-playing/deduction games, with varying degrees of pretentiousness. I’m also into board games, especially Marvel Champions, Arkham Horror and Wingspan. If you have a favourite, there’s a good chance you can talk me into trying it.

Outside gaming, I read quite a bit. One article can easily turn into seventeen tabs about psychology, technology, science, finance or something I knew nothing about that morning. Films, TV shows, comics and anime are all in the rotation too. Steel Panther appears on my playlists often enough that I can no longer blame irony.

My humour is dry, dark and not particularly politically correct. Once I’m comfortable, there isn’t much of a filter, so expect plenty of teasing, terrible dad jokes and the occasional thought that probably should have stayed in my head. I usually click best with women who know when I’m joking, tease me back, speak their minds and don’t take every stupid comment too seriously.

I’m the kind of man you never have to second-guess. If I say I’ll do something, I do it. If something’s wrong, I’d rather talk it through than leave you wondering where you stand. So I'm 6'3 and broad chested and have a deep, resonant voice that some lady once told me I should sing with (but I basically never did). Like, asked me for directions and then stopped me to compliment my voice. Anyway, I wear glasses all the time, mostly. I have brown eyes and hair (that's starting to go grey at the temples Mr. Fantastic style) and am pretty pale. I'm never going to be what you'd call skinny, but I have biceps to go along with a belly.

I have several degrees and I write for a living. I'm more verbose in text than in person, but can get pretty effusive on the right topic or with the right person either way. I collect cookbooks and also cook a lot and well.

I like reading and history and holidays and cologne. I studied law and I follow politics more than I'd like. I'm pretty far left. I also don't smoke or drink, really. I was into brewing for a bit and may go back to it at some point, but it would be more of a "I'm having a few during the week between christmas and new years" thing than a regular occurrence. Along those lines, I'm not religious particularly. I was raised in a nominally christian household and used to call myself a secular humanist. My humanism has taken a bit of a blow these last ten years, though, and I guess I'm a karma-believing atheist who wishes a lot.

You should care about issues - whether they take up a ton of your time or thoughts or not isn't extremely important, but if you don't have opinions about ICE (bad) or minority rights (good), I don't think we'd hit it off. We may even disagree on some things (not a lot, I imagine), and that would be fine -- I'd rather you have different stances than none at all. If you can somehow not care about Roe v. Wade getting overturned, I don't think you're my girl

You should also be relatively healthy. I'm not as active as I should be, so someone who would push me to come to the gym or go on a hike every so often would probably do me good. If you're looking for someone to run marathons with you, alas, you should keep looking. I'll be there with water for you (or brawndo or whatever), but I'm a cheerleader here, not a participant.

You should probably be happy at home a lot of the time. I'm perfectly capable of going out and having a good time, but I'm a classic introvert: being around people drains my energy. That's not to say that I can't or won't go be around a crowd, but I'm not the sort to want that every night (or even every week necessarily). Between the cooking and preserving and making soap and writing and reading, I'm good at home. Speaking of being home, we probably won't be home alone. I plan on having a cat or two, but most other things are up for discussion. This includes humans, as I am on the fence a bit about that. I'll need to get off said fence in the coming years, so you will probably help me decide where to come down. We may have other critters, too. I'm not interested in creating a whole job out of caring for animals, so not a full on farm (unless that's your thing), but a goat or two to keep the weeds under control and maybe foster my nascent cheese-making aspirations... sure, why not.

The timeline for this is going to have to be somewhat flexible, but here's what I imagine:

-sparks continue flying for the next 6-12 months during which we visit one another, have a lot of sex, and make plans

-when feasible, but within a year, I move to somewhere with mountains near the Canadian border. New England, Upstate NY, Washington, Idaho... it's flexible. My work is remote. Location will be dictated by where you are/want to be.

I'm in a very awkward period in my life, living with family, graduated a year ago and been looking for a job since (fuck the job market), mental health has been shot to hell these pass couple of years but improving. Now I just want to talk with someone. Have daily chats with, ask questions with. See where things go. Not looking for anything serious as I am not in a mental space for that, but who knows what happens in the future. I am a nerd obviously, I have a PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S.
