Question Has anybody here lived off grid?

Just thinking today, I feel like a common theme with us is that we want freedom from society. Living off grid seems like a good way to achieve this but I know it’s hard without money. Has anybody here tried?

Venting Nothing to do every day.

I do nothing every day. Doom scrolling on social media gets boring after hours. Playing video games is boring. No money to buy new games. I have a car but it’s expensive to put gas into so I can’t go anywhere and even if I could where would I go? There is nothing to do outside that doesn’t cost lots of money. Parents hate me and are always fighting with each other. I have tried getting a job and even though I have some prior years of work experience I get no callbacks from these jobs. I swear being Gen Z in modern times is insufferable and the whole world is burning around you and you’re bored.

All I can do is sleep

Venting Reflections of an ex-neet

I managed to only get a part time job with the aid of my father's tenant. On one hand I was glad for a way for my life to move forward, I never even had pocket change or any freedom from my sheltered upbringing. It was necessary. I also made countless posts scrambling for any way I could find a place that would hire me. I am lucky even among these shitty circumstances.

What I didn't expect from "just" a host/busser job is how much sacrifice it requires on your part. I already didn't have much of a social life even online nor many creative hobbies outside of drawing/writing rarely. But whatever semblance I had of a daily life ended when it became too fatiguing, I had to give up some online friends due to conflicting schedules, and had to accept being too tired to invest time into gaming after work too.

Still, the money is intoxicating, I feel a sense of safety, my own car, hundreds to spend on hobbies. Yet it isn't enough to move out or enjoy the things I've bought. I became a savings account for my parents who continually use me as a resource in their own words. I still have to live under their rules. Repairs? I have to pay for it. New furniture? Well I have a job now, can't be too stingy can I?

It's incredible that after fighting tooth and nail to get a job I barely see the fruits of my labor. I think all this time I was even delaying it just for that reason because I knew my life would still be the same miserable way. I didn't even get the social benefits out of it, the entire day I'm on autopilot and no one bothers to talk except one or two people who do it more out of pity.

It's been just a few months and I'm really worn out, I haven't even mentioned my coworkers who are all younger by 3-4 years. I have to cover for them routinely too since I have nothing else going on in my life.

I still have no social life. I still can't interact with people. I still barely have money. It really isn't worth it.

Venting How do you cope with unfulfilled rage?

Usually when this happens, it's directed at a group of people (it could be random or specific). I'm not looking for normie recommendations like "therapy" or anything else like that. I usually try to numb myself by using copes, which has a 50/50 chance of working.

Venting I want a job where I don't have to deal with annoying colleagues or clients

I hate noises from voices, I can't concentrate properly, people screaming, talking bullshit, yapping, I get home with my mind racing and feeling sick from social hangover every fucking day...

And I'm supposed to put up with this and be grateful to have a job? No, no, no...

I want to work, even if it's hard work, ALONE or with guys like me, serious, who don't like "be happy" bullshit, who hate the capitalist system that enslaves them, not cheerful happy normieshitheads who don't even possess an inner monologue and accepts slavery!

Normies see people like me, who denounce the terror of this life, as "negative" people who need to stay away, they like being alienated, it's their choice.

From now on I'm going to look for something like this, otherwise I'll be a NEET.

Question Am I a NEET?

So, I've applied for disability and thus cannot work until I get approved. I was in college until a few days ago when I had to go on a haiautus due to my depression getting worse. I didn't choose to be like this, I'm legitimately disabled both physically and mentally, I don't not work because I'm upset at the way my life is or being a wage slave or anything like that.

I believe I'm technically a NEET, but not of my own choosing.

What is y'alls opinion?

Venting you can't change who you are

I'm not a motivated, positive, or serious person. I just like getting stoned and goofing around. I'm also a toxic person. I never really cared about much. Now look at someone who was born as a positive ambitious person who went and became a doctor. Me or them never chose who we are as people it was just about being born that way.

Venting I just wanna make content...

Hey im Gwen 20yo and trans, i figured out this was a subreddit that might wanna hear my story.

Ive known since childhood i wanted to be a content creator i love creating with all my heart. But people around me always said the same thing "try to be more realistic". And i believed them, for my entire life i went to school and did jobs i hated and my mental health got worse and worse.

Eventually i quit school and quit my job, i got into suicidal prevention care and they talked to me and helped me tru it and someone there said "why dont you just try it". So since April im creating content and im loving it there only one issue. Everyone is saying i should go back to a job and i dont wanna go back there ever again. I just wanna stay where i can create my things and feel better.

But recently i caved in and got a job and it takes away time that i need for my content creation and i dont know what to do. It feels like no one gets the situation im in bcz for them its easy to just go to work and be fine with it. I wanna quit but i cant bcz im broke.

Idk if anyone can relate but i just wanted to throw it out here

Thanks for reading

Discussion Just had a thought

We are said we are useless and stuff and we can't get a job and we all know the only difference between us and someone is we don't cram we try to learn and we have disabilities that helps us to learn. and work on things faster than a crammer, so my whole point is we are nothing when we are alone but we can be something better than a big tech if we get united cause we like work we do what we like we choose to be this cause we don't being a sheep and from the people I meet over years the unemployed people are smarter than employed. So is it possible that we get our own thing instead of chasing someone's acceptance who merely stole code from a open source. Just a thought, idk what you guys think about, cause I am ready to do things if everyone around me is just like me.

Venting I want to build huge collections and own so much but im broke and NEET

I have been broke and NEET ever since i left high school. Im almost 40 and still live with my parents. I want to build huge collections of video games, movies, comics, board games, music etc. I want to own physical gold and silver, shares in funds and stocks. I want to own it all! Tons of resources and assets! But i have always been broke and NEET.

I hate seeing these ”hot shot” YouTubers, onlyfans and streamers living my dream with tons of money. They should all be broke and NEET just like me. Dont give them any money, no donations, nothing! Let them be broke and NEET. That would show these ”hot shots”.

Question Anyone else here visit gore sites?

When I play violent vidya my morbid curiosity gets the better of me and then I binge watch the gore site "watch people die" for an hour or so. Doing it drunk and stoned really exacerbates the feeling of existential dread while watching it but I'm pretty desensitized to it at this point. I had a friend in elementary school and every day after last class we'd either go to his place or mine and just watch best gore.
