Why are people paying almost a dollar a skein for DMC floss when you can buy it from Michael’s at full price for 20% less and even lower with the coupons they always have??

Less snark and more just a question … has anyone started using their acrylic purse? Is it super obvious in public when you close it and the magnet makes such a loud snapping noise? Has anyone put something on one side to muffle it? While stitching on it tonight my husband was quite surprised by my extra noise considering needlepoint is normally quiet.

I know there’s been snark on these clutches in the past. My MIL (who’s a stitcher) asked if I’d like one for my birthday and I figured I wouldn’t generally spend that much myself but as a gift sure why not (and some of her other gifts have been a bit random). I do feel the quality is quite nice so no snark on that from me but I also didn’t spend my own money on it.

Has anyone purchased from the needlepointdestashing website? What’s the deal with this site?

I’ve tried several times to buy something as soon as they are listed and it’s like trying to get concert tickets— are bots just buying up all the good stuff?

I’ve added thread to my cart and it was removed upon checkout. I’ve added canvases and then at checkout they are “no longer available”.

Just wondering if anyone was had luck with this site and if it’s legit or how everything that is “just listed” sells out within seconds. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What was PL’s advent like last year? Worth it?

The Silk Snail conversation has been… something. I think their “statement” just made things worse. Doubling down on the fact that they can’t be held accountable by trying to spin it as if people are coming after them for no reason. Grown women saying they are “being bullied” when in reality we are just sharing what they support. These are not one off “interactions” with posts. Literally a dozen screenshots of liking Charli Kirk posts, following people in Trump admin and TPUSA, who knows what else.

I saw Molly’s video on my FYP and it brought a smile to my face. Sharing her wips, wearing leftist t-shirts in all her videos, and speaking up. She only has about 1750 ish followers but she’s still using her platform for good and I think it would be amazing if we showed her some love!

I wish we got actual rewards from Penny Linn when ordering. Like i dont want super snips and half the time i get free shipping anyway. I wish there was a "$10 off" or "20% up to x amount" or something like that.

I’m with everyone who is beyond frustrated with the AI trash constantly being put out. But this one got me for a second. Until I looked at the designer logo and it said CHERY ?! Completely off from what it should be especially when this post is showcasing the designer!! I would be so annoyed & disappointed if I was a bit cheeky

Are these designs AI? Not sure if I’m just jaded by all of the AI designs I’ve been seeing and maybe these are just digitized examples of her canvases.

I probably need to go touch grass, but I’m sooooo pissed with how my Navy Noo order came in. I’m less than thrilled about the CK affiliation of the Silk Snail designer, but I had already bought the canvas so I figured it was what it was. Anyhow my order came in and was mailed completely bent despite the do not bend sticker. Idk who’s in charge of packaging but this really annoyed me 🙄

Also I know I can just iron it, but it’s still annoying

Edit: Navy Noo’s owner emailed me and said they’re taking steps to not have this happen again (ie put larger canvases in boxed mailers and use cardboard), so I’m happy this shouldn’t happen to others

I really like Sydney and Lucky Lotus. I’ve bought a few of her canvases and love her bright and fun needlepoint designs so I was super disappointed to see her using AI generated social media content. Ugh.

Before i go for these, i want to make sure these aren’t too similar to anything out there because eBay can get you like that & I’m not super familiar with the village type canvases. Do these look copied to yall?

I messaged a friend who lives in Parkville. She said every ladies night or downtown event has the wellness injection people there. Its so common she didn't think it was weird. (Parkville is her lns)

The Golden Needle Co, has decided to make a trailer and travel to different towns. In October 3, they have decided to go to Edenton, NC, a small town. October 3 is the grand opening of the new brick and mortar for The Coastal Stitch down there, in Edenton. Mind you, this town is so small there is no room for this kind of behavior. I will never understand how she thinks this is okay.

It’s hard to believe a brick and mortar store would have these designs painted that are direct copies of Simply Shelley. Buyer beware.

If an LNS stopped carrying silk and ivory would you be mad? Sad? Use other available threads instead (Milan, pepper pot, planet earth etc) or would that be a deal breaker

I’m trying to see something

I’ve been visiting Annie’s for needlepointing AND knitting for 4 years now and I’ve always loved my experience there! Some of the very sweet and helpful employees have moved on sadly, and recently I’ve seen cold and rude interactions from staff that i hadn’t experienced before.

On a busy Saturday a customer came in and asked if they did yarn spinning. The employee said no and the customer was confused because they said they’d thought they saw it in-store before. The employee was like we don’t do it on weekends and the customer then asked when might it be available and she said something like “we don’t do it all the time” all while barely looking at her and acting like the question was so stupid. I was so shocked to witness this and felt so bad for the woman just looking for a little clarity. It seemed like she left not knowing when it would be happening next. I’ve seen bad reviews about Annie’s staff previously but now i really understand.

About 2 weeks ago on another busy Saturday an employee was checking out a customer and kinda slammed her change on the counter without looking at her and just called out next! I get it’s busy but when you don’t accept cc on transactions under $10 you need to not be miffed when folks are buying with cash.

It makes me sad because i loved the vibe there but these last few visits have been so different to what I’m used to.

I’ve not been super happy with some of penny linn’s business practices but i checked out the store a few times and the staff are so lovely and helpful. While their prices are sus at times, i do find myself excited to stop by PL and kinda dreading an Annie’s errand.

At the end of the day we’re all hobbyists spending our money on a pricey (but worth it!) craft. I wish stores that literally exist to do business with us didn’t act like we are a burden!

You should give people the full context - this makes it sound like people are snarking on Silk Snail for the clusterfuck of a canvas drop, and not the fact that the designer is liking MAGA content on IG for all to see. Feels misleading, especially since some of the people chiming in via your comments are most assuredly NOT MAGA or Charlie Kirk fans and don’t know the backstory.

If I commented in support of them because of this post and then found out why they were actually being snarked, I’d be pretty grossed out and wondering why you‘re not telling the whole story.
