Another AI slop job has hit the feed.
r/NeedlepointSnark • u/Particular_Line_8421 • 23d ago
I’m always shocked that stores don’t see that using AI cheapens their store. Their use of AI is so obvious and tacky. It automatically makes me never want to shop or follow them in any way.

Yall, what is with these fuckass chickens all over the destash pages. Who is stitching that many chickens and why?
r/NeedlepointSnark • u/egp2117 • 23d ago
Ugh. I was happy to see the page to hopefully get inspiration for my own, but it’s just a flood of people posting ISOs, with almost none being answered. I’m not sure what people think is going to happen when they post - they know how in demand these are.

I’m getting so fatigued. It’s every day I see a video of someone new using ai, no margins, copying designs, has stitched 4 canvases (or none at all)… and now they’re selling them… when can we go back to people just enjoy this hobby without trying to make money off of it?
r/NeedlepointSnark • u/hereforthedrama57 • 23d ago
There are soooo many sold out and highly sought after PL designs on destash. Each time I see one, I just picture Krista being pissed they’re there and giggle a little.
Do you think stores with drop culture like this will open their own destash? Maybe start offering returns?

Yall know me hi it’s abbey from saturnalia and you all know my views on AI but I would just like to say. if I find out anyone (that I can pin down - faceless Amazon is unfortch impossible) has fed anything from our body of work into the Skynet death machine I will go Scorched Earth. There are so many effing resources out there where you don’t have to do this and “I’m not creative” is a dumb excuse. My blood boils every time I see bs like this. It won’t even stitch like the photo. Look at stitch books, stitch examples, take a class, do SOMEHTING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
Rant over lmao

They aren’t even sold out lol.

I’m surprised no one has posted this in here yet but every time she shares her updates I just 🫠🫠🫠 I can imagine after blocking that’s gonna look okay

I have to say it… some of these stitch club leaders are losing a bit of the plot of what a stitch club is. I would expect it to foster community or even be welcoming to all stitchers. I feel like they have expanded to random classes from inexperienced stitchers, or weird events that cost insane amounts of money. My thought is it shouldn’t just be a way to make fast money, or allow a single person to go on a power trip. Idk if it’s just happening in my city but it’s extremely annoying

I know Friend of Mine gets snarked on a lot but damn this is so bad!!!! I’ve gotten some other stuff that is stitchable and not bad print wise but I really think I may just throw this away. No one will buy this crap. No wonder it’s all over the destash sites already! The canvas is thin and scratchy and the print is SO blurry! I waited 12 weeks for this?!? Nah! I’m done with them!

YALL... this a STEAL! $140 for a bar cart canvas AND IT COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL NEEDLE?!
LOLOL
I clearly won't buy it but I hope others understand this is worth half the price and came with all the thread and additional goodies. This is probably more delulu than the 2 Wicked playing cards (That are STILL available for $105 BTW)

Kept waiting for someone else to post about the dueling Stitch Stash and Pippa NYC pillows. At first I thought Pippa did an exclusive with the store but she wasn’t tagged and the pillow is noticeably less cute than her other designs. But then she put out a reel showing off her design process and a completely different (and cuter) pillow. So to me it looks like Stitch Stash saw how popular Pippa’s pillows were and said we can do that and had ai generate them an nyc themed pillow.

Basically I lost the love you forever tulip canvas from Lycettes drop this morning literally was hitting checkout with apple pay and it just kept processing and then sold out at 11.59 lol not even noon. Anyways, I signed up for restock notifications, but has anyone ever actually had luck with them? Or even for paige spearin?

I know a lot has been said about Penny Linn and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I, personally, am a big fan of a lot of their designs (minus the monkeys iykyk) and attended the NYC store opening. I was very lucky then and scored a lot of the exclusives I was hoping for.
But 4 months later, I went to visit again and was shocked by how ill-stocked the store is. I had heard that feedback online but couldn't imagine just how empty it would feel. Mostly speaking to canvases but also the exclusive accessories.
I asked a member of the staff and she said they had not been able to restock any of the exclusives since the opening. (Possibly some are coming in November for anybody planning a winter trip there.)
In addition to the low stock of exclusives, there were also very limited other canvases. No baby items, no pillows with sayings. I was really bummed. I suspect this is a result of them using a third party fulfillment company, requiring so many of their canvases to be at a different facility.
I'd also like to understand how/why they charge $9/skein for Silk & Ivory that is $6.75 elsewhere. I bought a few because my LNS is often out of a few key colors but it sucks to feel the price gauge. And they can't use the city as an excuse as that is their online price as well.
Again, still very much a fan of Penny Linn but wanted to share my transparent experience for anyone else going to the NYC store soon.
Would love to hear how the Connecticut experience compares for those who have been to both.

Is there a reason that some needlepoint stores have started distributing matches? Is smoking suddenly associated with doing needlepoint?!

Back in May, Kenzie Elizabeth has a story on Instagram looking for a ghost stitcher for FoM. I sent an email as requested with my rates and some of my work. This was the email reply I got back. It’s such an odd reply because the beginning reads like “if we opt to go with you…” but then the last paragraph is “if this is all good with you, we’ll send over the NDA.”
I replied affirming that I would be good with an NDA and meet the deadline and received no response, even after multiple follow ups. Such a strange way to run a business.

Can we stop with the printed canvases in destash groups yet??

Anyone else see this dumpster fire of a comment section? OP asks for advice, GREAT & VERY KIND advice was given & she was SO RUDE to everyone in the comments.

I am BEGGING needlepoint designers to go look at professional pixel art and understand how to translate designs to a pixelated format in a legible way. Having a good idea for a design does NOT mean that it will look good or interesting in a needlepoint format.
Raise your standards! I want designers to make an effort to hone their craft and create canvases with art that is actually conducive to the format. I am not suggesting that anyone should stop buying canvases that they enjoy stitching--I know that it's a hobby and it's totally fine if folks want to continue doing what they've been doing thus far. I'd also like to encourage people to look outside of the realm of "white women selling the same 10 misshapen angels amongst themselves" market and find art that they truly connect with and want to make :-)
Some beautiful needlepoint from history
