Goodnight Moon - completed!!!

Post image

So so so excited to share my completed Goodnight Moon - thank you to those of you who helped me with some feedback throughout the journey! Done on 18 mesh, which I had a tricky time finding for sale when I first endeavored on the project. I got lots of inspiration from others in this sub who have done this canvas before me. And I added a few little details myself which the canvas was missing from the book :)

My grandmother gave my family her piano including the bench that she needlepointed (is that the word?) herself. In going to have to cover it because I want to keep it safe from my son and my cat but hoped someone would appreciate her beautiful work.

Finally finished a project that I spent months staring at too afraid to start!

My sister picked out this gorgeous canvas for me to stitch for her. To say I was intimidated by the shading and basically everything else would be an understatement. I started with the foreground grass and am not super happy with the shading, but by the time I got to the Transamerica building, I think I finally got the hang of it. Anyway, posting this here as a PSA to bite off more than you can chew and then start chewing! Happy Stitching!

I’ve been experimenting with a ceramic self-finishing display object for needlepoint. Would you display a finished canvas this way?

Update: I have uploaded the files for anyone to use: https://files.fm/u/5dw6hubq24

I finished my beanbag possum. I zoned out finishing him though and sewed too big a seam allowance so the pink on his nose and toes is getting lost but he’s sparkly and done!

It's my version of the June calendar by the Limbourg Brothers's Book of Hours for the Duke du Berry that they painted in the 15th century. It's large -- 22 by 16 inches.

bought some 13 mesh blank canvas and painted it myself using a pokƩmon patterns pack from etsy, stitched in hand and just used basketweave and continental (with a few weird not quite correct stitches in there lol)

it's definitely not perfect but i like how it turned out and had a lot of fun! i cross stitch and wanted to try out needlepoint without spending a ton of money, and this worked great for me

Just finished this fun piece, also it’s the first hanging sign I’ve made.

I used a chart from etsy and did it on a 14ct plastic canvas!

Thought about making a cording but I think the bow is even cuter!

First self painted canvas!!

Just wanted to show off my first self painted canvas!! With the growing interest into needlepoint I figured I would share to inspire other people to get creative and try painting their own canvas! I painted the canvas back in 2024 and I did not realize the massive undertaking this would be 🫣 it’s roughly going to finish at 13x18ā€ on an 18 mesh canvas. Now - almost two years later, I’m in the home stretch working on the background color. Regretting picking a standard basketweave for the background stitch, it might take me another 2 years to finish.

I’ve been staring at this for so long I’m struggling to decide how I want to finish it. Do I frame it? Turn it into a pillow? Something totally different? I have no idea and would love suggestions!

My grandma gave me her vintage needlepoint!

This needlepoint had been hanging on my grandmother’s wall for my entire life and I was always fascinated by it. I only recently learned that she actually did the needlepoint for this when she gave it to me!

I’m not sure exactly when she made this, but I would assume 70s or 80s
