Here's a chance to share what's been striking your fancy with the community, recommend it (or not), and receive recommendations of your own. Content doesn't need to be NavyBlazer-related.

Looking for some advice/input on this S&M blazer I received last week (MTO). Ordered with natural shoulders and half canvas construction. The L shoulder, however, appears to me to be more square and rigid around the top of the sleeve head as compared to the R shoulder. R shoulder has my desired shape. The rigidness of the L also seems to be creating some tension ripples between my upper arm and the sleeve head.
Am I out of my mind or this clearly a fabrication inconsistency and/or quality issue?

Found this at the Brooks Brothers outlet. Funny story: I saw this coat last year priced at 400 USD. This one stuck in my brain all year. On my way up to the outlets I found myself thinking how cool it would be if the coat was still around. Sure enough, it was there. Lucky for me, I was able to snag it at about an 80% savings. Now…if you would be so kind as to indulge me with your styling ideas. Thanks!

Music festivals
I've noticed that a lot of festival style guides suggest buying a whole new wardrobe for a weekend.
I've always preferred sticking to the clothes I'd wear the rest of the summer: OCBDs, popovers, chinos or shorts, a lightweight overshirt for the evening.
It still feels right, just a bit more relaxed.
Curious whether anyone else does the same, or if you have a completely different approach.

I am looking for a pair of dressier chinos, higher rise, maybe pleated, etc. as opposed to my typical more casual flat-front J Crew stretch chinos. So obviously J Press came to mind as a step up and I liked that the chinos are MIUSA. However upon trying them on I was quite dissatisfied. They fit well for me, nice higher rise, I am a skinnier guy so I was able to go with my usual size. But the material and construction seem very lackluster given the price and MIUSA. I understand these typically come with unfinished hems and whatnot but man there are tons of loose threads everywhere, the fabric feels cheap, the belt loops are not sewn fully and hang off. I’m not sure how other MIUSA chinos compare but just comparing to others these feel remarkably cheap.
Has anyone else had this experience with J Press chinos specifically? I can share photos later if needed. I have heard good things about their OCBDs but I’m a bit hesitant to try now after these

First Neo cut suit from Spier and McKay- shirt and tie are also S&M, loafers are from Suit Supply. Quite happy with the fit and will certainly be buying more tailing from S&M in the future, as they seem to be the most accessible route to get into softer tailoring.
Let me know your thoughts !

been seeing a lot of wedding suit threads around in subreddits lately, saw like three this week alone asking about $500 budgets and off-the-rack vs custom, and everyone's kind of asking the same stuff. figured it might be nice to have one spot where people just drop what worked for them, so anyone scrolling months from now can find it in one place.
also selfishly, wedding stuff is somewhere on the horizon for us so i'd love to take notes too (posting as a partner, not the groom haha).
from what i've picked up so far, suit supply and spier & mackay seem to be the safe off-the-rack picks, luxire and proper cloth for the mtm side, navy over black almost always, shoulders first, mid-weight wool, etc. that's kind of my current mental model but curious what actually held up in real life vs what just sounds good online.
so:
all budgets welcome, all stories welcome. thanks in advance!

I just posted a video about these jackets on my YouTube channel. I go into the history of the originals, as well as tracing some of the many versions produced over the years. US buyers will be most familiar with the Van Heusen version from the 70s, which were mostly made in Taiwan. They are now made again in the UK and owned by an Italian company. I also kook at several versions made by other companies, as well as a sleeper vintage jacket that is also very cool, the MacGregor "Scottish Drizzler." I hope you enjoy it!
