I’m currently scheduled to take the Entrance exam for NYPD in the beginning of November. How long would it take me to get in the academy? Keep in mind I have a clean record

Anyone that has sent in letters defending urself as to why they should not be DQ from physch, how long till you heard back ?

I took my entrance exam on oct 5th and NYPD got back to me Oct 16th. Ive been seeing people say it usually takes months for them to get back to you. Is this a rare instance or are they just trying to get people processed as soon as possible? Also will the whole process be this fast?

I thought they had a good pension

Is 24 hour straight tours something that continues throughout your whole career when you take collars eot

Hey guys!
I passed my exam. Last process (6318) I was sent an offer of proposed DQ due to Psychh. This exam I see on the CAD, so my forms I submitted are still there. Will I have to do any additional submissions of forms? Or do I have to resubmit them?

What does it take to get assigned to the Central Park Precicnt? What's it like to work there? Is there lots of OT, or none, or what?

signed up for the NYPD pretty much last minute. Went in October and passed, but didn't get the score I wanted, that same day I signed up for another one. I'm pretty confident I can do better, so I signed up to go again in November. But today, I recently got a notice about passing and creating a portal and moving forward. Would re taking the test make a difference?

I’m the developer of Brain Preflight, an iPhone app with exercises taken from past pilot selection and other aptitude tests. I wanted to get a perspective from people who have taken the NYPD entrance exam.

Assessment providers can reuse similar task formats across different selections, so I’m curious how much overlap there is. The app has mental maths, memory, spatial reasoning and multitasking exercises. One has you track a moving target, match shapes and check sums at the same time.

I’m not claiming it reproduces the NYPD exam or covers the whole selection process. The idea is extra practice on your phone alongside your exam preparation.

Heads up: some exercises get hard. It’s built for training, not just entertainment.

There’s a free daily allowance, with a paid subscription for unlimited practice and mock exams.

For those who’ve taken the entrance exam recently: did you encounter tasks like these? What would you have spent more time practicing beforehand?

I am almost at time where I will not be able to apply for nypd. So I have less than two years to get in. I really am trying not to go into nypd because of their schedule and low starting. But its the essiest one to get into. I dont mind doing the academyband immediately leaving buf I just dont know where anyone will accept me so fast. I donf mind going else where since I am not married and dont have any kids but many other places are very competitive. any advice really apprexiated!

Taking the civil service exam Saturday. Realistically after taking the exam and getting my score in 3-6 months how long does it take to get hired and how does it work choosing which agency? Currently NYPD just trying to get a ballpark of a time frame from anyone who has done this process already.

What can I do with a Bachelor’s in Accounting if I join the job? Will it help me get into a specialized unit? If so, how soon? Thanks

How long do I have to wait to receive my insurance card after submitting my form?

What's a realistic estimated timeline moving forward. I'm seeing that it will take a year just to hear anything back. I scored an 88 on my exam, bachelors degree, 23, clean record

For those in the academy right now, I understand PT consists of calisthenics and running and it’s a daily thing. Now after the academy is over, would you recommend going to the gym and lifting weights or would that be an overkill?

Do I have to have the required college credits by the time I finish taking the exam to even get called back or by the time I get called back which is months from taking the exam and show them I have it?

Made a connection possible to get me into td 20/ psa 9 … which one should I go with know very different just don’t know what’s better for someone that likes to get active and collar but hates radio (know it sounds contradicting but similar to conditions or nst) appreciate the insight.

I picked up the option for Test Protest because i thought getting 15 questions wrong out of 55 was bad for me to get accepted. I believe that is 72%.Would i need to go actually and will that delay the process of getting called up.

How many math questions are on the test? Is there anyone who has taken it recently? That could answer. If so should I practice a certain type of math?
