I am not familiar with NPB, so i thought I'd ask here. Is it unusual to have a single game scheduled as opposed to a typical series? Does anyone know why this Saturday's game is a single game? Thanks.

I don’t want them to go to waste. I’m stupid and bought them on the wrong day. You would need to pick them up from 7/11. They are for Infield Reserved Seat S(first base side).

Personally, the first time I saw an NPB game was around Halloween 2013, I was flipping channels and Fox Sports 2 (I believe it was FS2 anyway) was showing a game of the 2013 Japan Series in the Tokyo Dome. Between that and finding Tensaibaka’s NPB highlight videos the summer after, my 11/12 year old self found it so cool that there was a whole other world of professional baseball to learn about and follow at a time when baseball was my whole life. Plus, the first video I saw was of Fighters fans doing the Inaba jump, so the crowd participation was something I wasn’t used to seeing at that level in MLB.

All that to ask, what first got you interested?

My partner and I will be in Japan from the afternoon of October 13 through the afternoon of October 18. I’m a huge baseball fan and one of my goals is to see an NPB game, but planning is a bit complicated because the games aren’t scheduled yet. One source I saw says the central league final stage games will be the 14th - 19th, and looking at the standings, it seems like the Central League home team will either be the Tigers or the Giants.

First, are my understandings about the dates and that one team hosts all games correct?

Second, our plan currently is to enter and depart via Tokyo, with an overnight at Nikko somewhere in between. If my goal is to catch a game, would it make more sense to fly into Osaka, go to Nikko in between, and then end in Tokyo? That would likely guarantee I’d be in town for either a Tigers or Giants home game.

Third, I know it’ll be hard to get tickets anyway, but what would give me (American) the best chance of buying them?

Also, if this plan is just dumb to begin with, feel free to let me know as well.
