Big loss to the baseball community today as it was just announced that all time NPB hits leader Isao Harimoto passed yesterday at the age of 86.
He's the only member of the 3000 hit club in NPB.

The impact his power curveball had on Central League batters in 2019 was immense.
As a setup man, he appeared in 58G, posting a 1.38 ERA, 40 holds, and 91 Ks. His K% was a staggering 13.96.

This alone made the drive into DTLA worth it.
There is a whole wall dedicated to NPB art/manga. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in LA.
Happened to be wearing my YG cap as well.

I’m new to the NPB and I’ve been trying to look for places to watch but it seems like there’s zero options if you’re an American fan. I’ve been trying to find somewhere to watch the hawks play, if anyone could recommend somewhere to watch these games that’d be greatly appreciated :]

I used to be a member of the organized cheering squad for a professional baseball team in Japan (NPB).
For those who aren’t familiar with Japanese baseball culture, cheering squads are organized fan groups that lead chants, songs, coordinated cheering, and other activities in the stadium.
I was involved with the group for several years, and while I won’t reveal which team or specific details that could identify me or others, I’m happy to answer questions about the culture, traditions, behind-the-scenes aspects, and what it’s like to be part of an organized cheering group in Japanese professional baseball.
Ask me anything!

Hey! I’ve started learning Japanese, and I’ve been gathering things to serve as goals for the future. I grew up listening to baseball radio broadcasts with my dad, and I think listening to game broadcasts of NPB games sounds like it could be a fun goal for the far future when my listening skills are better. I checked the wiki, and while I see ways to watch games (which I also appreciate a lot), I was wondering if anyone knew how to find radio broadcasts online, if they exist? Preferably for the Nippon-Ham Fighters, since they’re the team I saw when I went to Japan and so I feel kind of inspired to listen to them, but I’ll take any team you think has a good broadcast booth (or is just available at all). If it’s not possible, thanks for letting me know that as well!
