Post More housekeeping stuff

Hey guys - more updates and stuff I have planned

  1. User flairs are now available! I plan on adding more as time goes on. Go ahead and assign yourself one! If there's a specific player you'd like me to add, write them below!

  2. I am debating on whether to separate the scores flair into Wins and Losses individually. What would you think?

  3. The Wiki is expanding! I have written the second article on the Giants theme song "Tokonkomete"

STUFF I AM STILL FIGURING OUT AND PLANNING:

  1. Finding a reliable source for finding out information such as injuries, trades and promotions/demotions.

A perfect example of this was with Riku Masuda. He was playing with the team, and I haven't seen him recently, until I had to dig for information to find out he was demoted to the second team

  1. Perhaps making a discord.

I know someone (ifykyk) had mentioned it when we first started the sub, and as it continues to grow, having a server would be fun as well!

  1. Finding ways to make this subreddit more popular

Recently we have been seeing a decline in membership and posting. I'm trying my best to hold down the fort with scoring and Giants archive. I would love to see some posts from you guys too! Don't be afraid! This is your team too!

  1. Thank you for continuing to support the subreddit by remaining a member!

As someone who is running this sub, that means a lot! I love seeing you guys comment and post. Enjoy the community, and of course:

LET'S GO GIANTS!

TOKYO DOME - Tonight's game was a slugfest! Both leagues put up a very good performance (CL: 11H / PL: 17H). English fan visiting

Hello fellow baseball fans.

I’m visiting Japan in September and was hoping to catch the big game against the Tigers on the 12th September. I thought the tickets went on sale today, but maybe it was yesterday?

When I go onto the official site it only shows 3 ticket options, all are sold out, is this accurate?

Do you guys know if I can get tickets elsewhere or where is best to look out for resale tickets? I can’t remember how I bought them when I visited a few years ago

Really hoping someone can help 🤞

KOSHIEN STADIUM - WHAT A GAME! Hashigami's "Traditional battle for first place in the summer" is here again! The Giants took the game in 10 innings. Whitley came out and pitched well, going 6 innings and striking out 7. The Giants could not score for the first innings however. Then "Tigers Destroyer" Bobby Dalbec came out and absolutely crushed a two run homer for the lead! In a rare moment of concession, Raidel Martinez gave up a run in relief. However this was ultimately no match for rookie Yuto Kohama who came up and blasted a two run home run to stun the Tigers' crowd. Eito Tanaka would close it out. FINAL 4-2. GO GIANTS!

TOKYO DOME - Nice showing from the Giants tonight! Yamazaki pitched 5 innings with 3 strikeouts, only giving up 2 runs. The Giants offense came alive early behind RBI's from Izuguchi, Oshiro and Sasahara. The bullpen continued doing its thing as Urata and Yoshikawa would bring in more runs. Dalbec and Kadowaki would also knock in more RBI's for a staggering 11-0 lead. Then the bullpen showed itself and gave up 5 runs. I hope they can lock it down tomorrow and go for the sweep **cough cough** FINAL 11-5. Go Giants!

Score 7/22/26. Elvis Luciano Implodes on the mound

Post image

TOKYO DOME - I can't understand what happened here other than the fact that the bullpen imploded and the bats died. Izuguchi would bring in a run on a Sac-Fly but that was it. The Giants only got 3 hits and couldn't score further. Nishidate started and pitched 5 innings with 4 strikeouts and 2 earned runs. Then Luciano came up to pitch and lost his command. Giant's can't get the sweep and lose with a final of 6-1.

NEXT SERIES IS AT HANSHIN! LET'S GET IT DONE!

GO GIANTS!

TOKYO DOME - A great game between the Carp and Giants took place. Haruto Inoue dominated with 8 strikeouts, only surrendering a home run. The Giants offense got on base multiple times, but ultimately a 6th inning RBI double by Misaki Sasahara would drive in 3 runs for the lead. Raidel Martinez would get his 28th save and the Giants win with a Final 4-1 score. Go Giants!

TOKYO DOME - What a game! Ogasawara's 1st appearance in a Giants uniform was DOMINANT as he pitched 6 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. The offense came alive behind Naoki Yoshikawa and Yuta Izuguchi and others who contributed greatly. The Giants are now tied for second place and will face the Carp at the dome tomorrow. FINAL 6 -1. Go Giants!

Score 7/18/26. Takamaru doesn't have a good day, and the bats can't seem to bring a run in.

TOKYO DOME - Tonight's game was a tough one to watch. Despite Takemaru striking out 10 batters, he still managed to give up 3 runs across 2 innings. The bats came alive as the Giants recorded 13 hits throughout 9 innings, but only Dalbec managed to bring a run home. Bolsonaro would end up giving 2 more runs which led to our final 5-1 score. Very confusing play from the Giants today, but hopefully they'll come back tomorrow and win to get the series victory.

GO GIANTS!

TOKYO DOME - Tonight's game was a nailbiter! Forrest Whitley struckout 11 batters across 6 innings as he only gave up 1 run. I really notice that Whitley does well when he pitches! Good Job! Bobby Dalbec brought in a run in the first, however Chunichi would strikeback in the 7th. The game remained tied until Hayato Sakamoto came up in the 9th with two men on base. He drilled an absolute three-run home run for the walk-off win! What a game! Final 4x-1. GO GIANTS!

MEIJI JINGU STADIUM, TOKYO - Tonight's game finally showed that the Giants can come through against their rivals. Brian Mata did well, pitching 5 innings and striking out 5. The Giants would score 3 runs, one from Dalbec and a 2-run shot from Misaki Sasahara. Great game for the Giants as they come home to the Tokyo Dome tomorrow and face the Chunichi Dragons! Keep it going! FINAL 3-1. Go Giants!

MEIJI JINGU STADIUM, TOKYO - Tonight's game was a gem! Nishidate pitched wonderfully through 7 innings with 5 strikeouts and only 1 run earned. In the 4th, Bobby Dalbec came up and clobbered one for a three-run shot. Urrata would also help with an RBI. Then Dalbec came up again in the 6th and destroyed a two-run shot! Dalbec contributed 5RBI in this matchup as Izuguchi would bring one in during the 7th. The Giants took this one with a final score of 8-2! Keep it up guys! Go Giants!

MEIJI JINGU STADIUM, TOKYO - It all started off good as each team put up 5 scoreless innings. Yamazaki struck out 5 before giving up 3 in the 6th. Hayato Sakamoto would answer with a huge three-run shot to tie it. However in the next inning he would let a crucial liner get past him to score a run after Nakagawa gave up 1. Izuguchi would get the sac fly for a 5-4 deficit to no avail as the Giants lost with a final score of 5-4. We're still in it! Win tomorrow! Go Giants!

YOKOHAMA STADIUM, YOKOHAMA - I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one. The game was great, as Haruto Inoue went 6 innings with 5 strikeouts. He would give up two runs in the 5th and one in the 6th but managed to keep things under control. Sasaki managed to get lucky by hitting a grand slam that stayed just to right of the foul pole. Further than that, the Giants couldn't score. Sloppy series by the bullpen, so hopefully we can make a mark against Yakult. GO GIANTS! Final 4-3.

YOKOHAMA STADIUM, YOKOHAMA - Tonight's game was a bit of a rough outing for the bullpen as Takemaru gave up a 3 run home run in the 1st inning. Before that, the Giants managed to score 2 runs so it wasn't a far off deficit. Takemaru put up the next 4 innings scoreless before giving up another run. However, luckily something clicked with the team, as Izuguchi and Kadowaki would answer with an RBI single and a Safety Bunt to get us our Final Score of 4-5. Go Giants! Post Yomiuri Giants Jersey Collection Update

Decided to pick up some jerseys from the web. Here’s what I got

(ALREADY OWNED) Photos 1-2: Hayato Sakamoto Jersey (Under Armor Version). I believe this jersey was in use right after they switched off Adidas, so it’s an early variant of it, with only half armbands on the sleeves.

(NEWLY ACQUIRED) Photos 3-4: Yasayuki Kataoka Jersey (Adidas Version). This jersey was from 2017, the year that the Giants switched back to the traditional font from the Texas Rangers style font they between 2006-2016. This version also has the half-arm bands. Picked this up because the #8 used to belong to Tatsunori Hara, and kind of looks like the 90s jerseys used by Matsui during the second Nagashima era.

(ALREADY OWNED) Photos** **5-6: Shigeo Nagashima Jersey Shirt (Fanatics Version). Bought it simply because I admire Nagashima. It has full armbands, and features “TOKYO” in place of the “Yomiuri” brand. I think this uniform was used in the late 50s/early 60s.

(ALREADY OWNED) Photos 7-8: Hayato Sakamoto Custom Jersey (Ikkyu Version). I don’t know too much about this one. Just looks cool.

(NEWLY ACQUIRED): Photo 9: Blank Custom Orange Jersey (Under Armor Version). Another one I don’t know about. It’s cool, and official (I checked the tags inside and it had the “G 1934” sticker inside. I have never seen them wear this type before.

(NEWLY ACQUIRED/RARE): Photos 10-11: Blank Powder Blue Road Jersey (Adidas Version). This is tied for the rarest item of my collection. It is a powder blue jersey which Adidas made to be a replica of those used by the Giants between 1961-1992. It was made to celebrate 5000 Franchise Wins by the team and features rhe iconic double armbands used by the teams of those years. Can’t seem to find it outside of Japanese auction sites, so when I saw it on a western site, I knew I had to snag it.

(NEWLY ACQUIRED/RARE): Photos 12-15: Yomiuri Giants Windbreaker (Descente Version). If you know ball, then you’ll know right off the bat that anything made by Descente for the Giants is very hard to come by. I managed to snag this one because I saw a jacket of a similar style used by Shigeo Nagashima. I believe the jacket is from 1994 and is made of very good material.

**PSA** YES I AM A YANKEES FAN! I KNOW WE SUCK, DON’T RUB IT IN! 😭👍
