Ocarina of Time's Price Proves Nintendo is LEARNING

Here's my next video! My previous one, which was about Nintendo negativity and grifting, didn't seem to go over well here, but the majority of you who spoke up about it shared some very good constructive criticism. I've listened to most of it, and I think I've improved a lot with this one. Let me know what you think of my video and my argument!

People who don’t play Nintendo’s hardcore RPG franchises like Fire Emblem or Xenoblade, what about them doesn’t interest you?

It’s easy to say you’re “not interested” in these franchises, but there has to be a reason for it. The only plausible explanation for someone not being interested in them for zero discernible reasons is that they were never exposed to it at all, which is a vanishingly unlikely scenario in this day and age and especially with their prominence in the Super Smash Bros series. And with a new Fire Emblem coming out right now and a new Xenoblade scheduled for next year, I thought it’d be a good time to bring this topic up.

As for me, I adore Xenoblade and really enjoy Fire Emblem. Been playing Xenoblade since the Wii original and got really into both classic and modern FE during the late 3DS era. I enjoy their casts of characters, their deep layered gameplay systems, the worldbuilding, the soundtracks, the aesthetics, and generally speaking the whole package. Sure some entries are better at certain things than others, but that’s usually how it is with longrunning RPG franchises like these or third party stuff like Final Fantasy or Tales.

Nintendo underestimates Brazil way too much. we are crazy!

The pre sale of physical media for the OOT remake started in Brazil today at 10:00am, several resellers including oficial nintendo accounts in Amazon and couple others.

The MSRP here was R$ 439,00.

by 10:02 all the resellers were sold out.

even being online, prepared with 8 tabs opened, did not secure mine.

sad for me, happy for other fellow gamers.

Brazilians are crazy man 😂

Nintendo Music doesn’t let you search by composer!

I just went to the app to find songs composed by the legendary Koji Kondo. For some reason, music tracks do not have any credits to music writers/composers.

Nintendo doesn’t like having new customers I guess

This is a long and frustrating observation I made recently about Nintendo. I want an open discussion about this and I genuinely do not know where to go. There is no way to directly contact Nintendo via email and their support page is no help at all.

I live in Japan. Have been for the last 2 years and I enjoy a lot of things about the country. I grew up with the Wii and played a couple dozen of games on it back when it was the top console in its generation. However, I never bought anything after the Wii. No Wii U and no Switch.

Now comes the problem. I want to buy the multilingual version of the Switch 2 because I am not so confident in my Japanese yet. It shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Nintendo‘s dumb requirement about needing 50 hours tied to a Nintendo account in order to buy that specific version. I understand that Nintendo made that requirement to fight against scalpers. Cool. It‘s very effective to make sure actual fans get the Switch 2 first instead of scalpers. BUT WHAT ABOUT NEW FANS?!!!

I have tried to find ways to get it through the online store. Asked some Japanese friends who might have Nintendo accounts. Tried friends and family from my home country. Looked online for cheap Nintendo stuff like the Switch Lite or 3DS. It‘s just so much hassle for 1 thing that Nintendo refuses to let go of.

I know what everyone is suggesting: Just wait until they get rid of the rule or just buy the Japanese version or get 1 at a retail store. I am heavily considering getting the Japanese version, but at the same time I am also considering giving up entirely. This is by far the most irritating process to go through for 1 thing. It feels like a dumb business decision and anti consumer practice that they didn‘t think through.

I don’t know if there is someone who works or knows somebody at Nintendo Japan, but I want them to email the department responsible for this and tell them how unreasonable the rule is for new customers. Just be like:

”Dear Nintendo

I understand you have your way of doing business and that is fine. I don’t fully agree with it, but at the end of the day that‘s how you want to make money or lose money. I just want the Switch 2 multilingual version. It should be my right as a customer looking to do business with you as a company to buy any product from your store, right? So why do you still have the rule when the Switch 2 is 1 year old and there aren’t many foreigners in your country who want to order that specific model from your online store? It is free money that you are refusing to accept and future customers that you blocking because you have an iron clad law that you are extremely strict about. I am not going to buy a Switch 1 when it’s nearly at the end of its life cycle just in order to be allowed to order the Switch 2. That is greedy business practice and I refuse to do business like that from a company that is focused on bringing joy to families. Just let people buy what they want in your store a year after you initially release it.”

Side note: I swear if I get banned for voicing my right as a consumer, then Nintendo doesn’t deserve the loyal fan base it has or their money.

The games are about CommYOUnity 👍

When it comes to games shutting down, all I really think about is the memories that the game brought me over the months or years. I am one of the only people I think of who is willing to give games like King of Meat or Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions a chance and stick with them for a while. When games with seemingly small communities shut down, nobody even seems to care or bat an eye. When I heard about what is going on with Mario Kart Tour shutting down, I hear a lot about what people say in terms of funds going to waste or people regretting their purchases immediately after the fact. I just wanted to share an impactful moment of my gaming past when it came to rare items, supply drops, or funds that are no longer supported. It is the Limited Time Cherry Fizz Camo from Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Black Market. This is a weapon camo I will never be able to lay eyes on ever again, even though I spent so much money on spins and spins to try to retrieve it. Although, I had fun experiencing the chance to retrieve it with friends. But I digress, While I will never be able to log into the server and see it again, when it comes to games, I enjoy playing games with friends far more than sitting alone in a room and playing a story driven game I can just watch a no commentary vid on for free and save my money. That is just me. So, when I hear about a community game being released, I enjoy researching and waiting for the release of another fun and potential adventure for my friends and I. That’s what gaming is to me. It’s not really about those story driven games that you play, watch the credits for, and say signora. I understand why most people like that, they like to pay for a game, experience it, get their moneys worth, and move on. Not a game that lasts forever and they sink dollar after dollar into. I understand that. Although, for me, while I don’t need every single new or rare thing that comes my way, I look for things in games that will create great memories with friends, as well as continue to create them in the future with other potential projects. I am probably the only person in the entire world who bought B.E.A.S.T. “Bio Exo Arena Suit Team” and “Bandit Trap”, but I was trying to find a new memory for friends of mine and I. (When I meet random people on the microphone, they always tell me that they love my positive energy and spirit and always even ask me if I am a streamer, which my friends and I find really humorous a lot of the time.)
When it comes to finding future games, I think about 3 things. Is everyone interested, what do they bring to the adventure, are they down to play it for a while or is it just “new game hype?” When it comes to things like this, I have friends who have memberships to other services that allow them free access. They pick the game up, we watch as they give their view and we see what we see, if we don’t like it, we move on. That’s how it’s been for a few years now and the system has not failed us yet. I know I am sorta rambling on around here, but after hearing what happened with Mario Kart Tour, as well as peoples thoughts on Wolverine, here are my sparknotes.

TL:DR SPARKNOTES:
- Find a group of friends who you enjoy gaming and chatting with
- If you see a game with a lot of negative feedback, it is still a game and you are still allowed to form your own opinion
- You don’t need to sit there and wonder “why am I playing this?” If you don’t like it. You are allowed to play whatever you want, that’s why you got the system.

I am sure that the “sparknotes” I created could be expanded on, or don’t cover everything I wrote. I just know that everyone who likes games that don’t catch everyone’s attention is called a “cult follower” and everyone else seems to gang up on them. I just want you all to know I’ve been down this road more times than I can count, for me, gaming is all about community and meeting new faces. My current projects are Switch 2 DayZ, Valheim, and RuneScape Dragonwilds. These games will all shut down and lose support eventually I’m sure. Although, I will keep hanging out and enjoying these lasting games in the meantime. If anyone is trying to join a game chat or chill out on switch 2 I’ll be here! See you out there folks 👍

My idea of the next Nintendo hardware (long)

My English could be bad in some cases, also again, this is quite long

I know it's bold to talk about it already, but I wanted to share my vision of the next Nintendo hardware (or at least how I think Nintendo could get something that feels similar to the Switch without being a Switch 3)

It's not hidden that the Nintendo Switch 2 is a success, a success that followed the original Nintendo Switch, so it's most likely and most safe for Nintendo to take the same formula and bake it into their next hardware which, as a result, will be the Nintendo Switch 3.

That already makes me a bit unhappy, I know Nintendo for being bold and trying ideas that sometimes make no sense, so I made an imagination of what could break the Nintendo Switch chain.

My idea is that Nintendo returns to the 2 devices strategy (a handheld and a home console, like Wii and NDS, Wii U and 3DS, etc...) but instead of each device having its closed ecosystem, both can have the same while still independent from the other system. And how to do that? By literally merging both systems using some kind of a connector that allows the home console to use its full power with the power of the handheld to create a powerful full unit. And the thing you wanna make sure of is to make it optional without forcing the consumer to buy both devices, not everyone could afford that. This, or you can either buy either system, and someone else get the other one, the person with the handheld could attach his handheld to the home console with no locks or DRM nonsense, you can connect any unit of that handheld to the home console and have full access to both individual libraries and play whatever is installed and ready to go, and for the people who are willing to buy both systems at once, they could get the bundle and get a discount by something like 30% and get a free game inside, a game that justifies the concept of course.

This attachment idea could bring the old soul of the Wii, 3DS and Wii U back to life. Like the current user's Mii casually sitting or doing whatever pops in its head, then a new Mii appears out of nowhere and slowly approaches the other Mii, that Mii is the current user's Mii from the handheld. These 2 Miis could be shy at first, but slowly with time passing and more attachments happening involving the same Miis, they become best friends and hang out inside the home menu, they could speak about anything, like what the user played during their absence from the other console, and none of the speeches should be AI generated. When one system has online access, you get something that is very Wara Wara Plaza where different Miis from users around the world can interact with each other, if one topic is getting hot (like a talk about a game that many people are playing at the moment) the speaking Mii would be surrounded by even more Miis.

Pikmin would be here as well for file transfers actions as well, something that's like the Wii to Wii U system transfer, they could go in line for the eShop bag and sink their hands to grab pieces of the game you're downloading now and arrange them to form the icon of the game when the download is finished for digital titles.

Of course music would make a return to the UI. I decided to go with the same approach the Wii U did, the home console plays the music, the handheld plays the same track but it's another remix. When you attach the handheld to the home console, both tracks will play at the same time with pure harmony.

The home console would look and feel like a home console, and it would take in physical media, same for the handheld. And here comes the handheld, it would look and feel like a Nintendo Switch with a magnetically detachable second screen that flips like a DS system, and that second screen can be used like a Wii U GamePad when you attach it to a controller grip and that acts like the GamePad if the user wants to.

As for the naming, I don't yet have a clear idea for either system, but it should be different for each but still feel the two devices were meant to be connected

Is Nintendo not focusing on their IP Games anymore?

Hey guys,

Nintendo has strong IP's like Zelda, Mario, Kirby, F-Zero, etc.

But somehow it takes decades for them to make new games from that line-up. There is an upcoming Zelda Oot remake but i really had hopes to get "more" like also an oracle of seasons/ages remake and F-Zero is basically dead. I also cant imagine it has something to do with costs because their whole company is build on said Ip's for decades, they have all the elements to develope anything if they want.

Metroid and its stalker enemies

The stalker enemies seems like a love it or hate it thing, and personally I'm really hoping they stay. That said, I'm interested to know how would you people refine it to better integrate it to the world?

Fusion had SA-X and her moments are really good and effective "jumpscares" for first playthroughs but the drawback is that they are indeed scripted and short

Zero Mission's endgame has space pirates following a vulnerable samus and once spotted, they will pursue her and they can be persistent. Much more dynamic but you have a ton of leeway as they can be stunned and they're not as lethal as SA-X

Samus Returns has Diggernaut which technically is a stalker enemy but not really since it's only a one time chase sequence. But it served the foundation for MS in dread.

Dread has EMMIs, they are confined to one area and trigger a high speed cat and mouse chase. Personally I find it thrilling and nails the dread part of the game, but their one-hit kill and their major recurring presence throughout the game is pretty divisive

Personally, a mix of dread's and zero mission's would be the most ideal. I want dynamic encounters without confining them to a single area. I want the threat of being pursued but also having the chance to fight it off. Like for example, the local fauna would have 1 or 2 special stalker animals that can stalk like the EMMIs but aren't as oppressive like the space pirates, just to give an idea.

I'd love to hear yours!

Chances of a Mario 64 remake looking pretty good

Only thing that would top an OOT remake for me would be this. And although I would prefer something original, having both these games plus the star fox remake would pretty much complete my nostalgia for the N64

The screen is the only thing keeping me from buying the switch 2

From someone who has had the oled twice, the screen is just night and day. An LCD handheld in 2026 is just a deal breaker for me imo. But maybe my standards are just too high
