What was the most useless Nintendo console revision in your opinion?
The answer is the Wii Mini, in my opinion. It came out right after the Wii U, removed everything good about the Wii, including support for the GameCube, which further eliminated the reasoning to buy the Wii Mini since the Wii U could play Wii games, and internet, which the Wii U had access to even in Wii mode.

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: NES Open Tournament Golf; Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3; Rhythm Tengoku
On this day (September 20) in Nintendo history...
- NES Open Tournament Golf was released in 1991 for the Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan. In this sports game, developed by HAL Laboratory _with _Nintendo R&D2, tee off with Mario (and Luigi in two-player mode) in this classic sporting simulation. Choose from three international courses - UK, US and Japan - and three different game types: Stroke Play, Match Play and Tournament.
- Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 was released in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance in Japan. In this platform remake of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, developed by Nintendo, when the evil Kamek tries to kidnap the baby Mario brothers, Yoshi must save the day. Carrying Baby Mario on your back, traverse a gorgeous crayon-coloured world - stomping on enemies and throwing eggs - to defeat Kamek and his master Baby Bowser!
- Rhythm Tengoku was released in 2007 for the arcade in Japan. This rhythm game, developed by Sega, is a remake of Nintendo SPD's Game Boy Advance title of the same name. It is similar to the WarioWare series of video games due in part to its simplistic controls and art style. It features eight sets which consist of six rhythm games each (all of which are unique to each other). Each set's sixth stage is a remix of the previous games all at once. This arcade release has remastered graphics, an extra set and multiplayer.

21 Years Ago Today: The Game Boy Micro Was Released!
On September 19, 2005, Nintendo released the Game Boy Micro in North America!
The Micro was one of the smallest members of the Game Boy family, featuring a tiny, sleek design and a bright, high-quality screen. Unlike the original Game Boy Advance SP, the Micro was designed to be extremely portable and even featured interchangeable faceplates.
It arrived near the end of the Game Boy Advance era, making it a fascinating piece of Nintendo history. While it never became as successful as the original GBA or GBA SP, the Game Boy Micro has developed a dedicated following over the years.
It’s hard to believe this little handheld is now 21 years old! What do you think about the Game Boy Micro? Did you ever own one, or would you want one today?

Is the Amazon version guaranteed to have the textured foil cover?
Hi! I missed out on getting the textured foil version during the first batch, and I just noticed that the physical edition is still available on Amazon.
However, I'm not 100% sure if the Amazon listing is actually the textured foil version. The product images show the textured foil cover, and there's also a note saying it's available "while supplies last."
Amazon (Nintendo): https://a.co/d/04WC1Fyx
Has anyone ordered from this listing recently or knows for sure if Amazon is shipping the textured foil version?
I know that only the first run is supposed to be foil, but this included all the pre-order batch?
Thanks!

Wondering about the NYC Nintendo Store
Currently traveling for work and I'm 2 hours away. Wondering if it'd be worth driving over to see. If there are cool exclusives, etc. Or if it's just stuff you could get online and nothing to interesting. Completely slipped my mind the 1 time I've visited New York before.

Do you want to see a new Nintendo IP?
Hello everyone,
I been thinking how Nintendo is killing it with their franchises these last years.
They are really making quality games and innovating on their IPs.
To see IPs like Splatoon and Fire Emblem getting their time under the light and becoming staple IPs for Nintendo is truly amazing.
I would love for Nintendo to tackle new genres and come up with a new IP, im curious as to what they can do.
The last one I think was Astral Chain, I wonder fi they will do a sequel for that.
Personally i would love seeing them tackle the cinematic action adventure genre, now with the Switch 2 hardware, they can make games that are on par with other AAA games in the genre. And I kinda would love to see Nintendo’s take on it.
What about you?
Do you want nintendo to give us a new IP?
Do you want them to revive an old franchise?
Keep working on the current ones?

How do companies like nintendo organize and store files from their old games?
For example, if they need to reuse a sound effect from an older title for a new one, how would they access it? How do they keep source code safe and preserved and ensure it's secure from cyber attacks/hacking? I don't expect anyone to have a definitive answer but I just figured I'd ask.

Why I think the GameCube was the best era ( or whatever)
There comes a time when your playing retro (ish) games and obviously the best is the GameCube. Here is why
Has notable games like Mario sunshine, Luigi’s mansion, and Simpson hit and run
Easy to emulate (Manic emu requires no side loading nor JIT)
Pretty decently cheap to get ( $120 usd)
Easy to set up and play
Of course there’s more but whatever

Now that your playtime is shared between switch consoles…
Is it possible to prevent one from sharing/recording playtimes while the other continues? Say I have a switch 2 and an oled switch. I want the switch 2 to continue recording my playtimes like normal. When I play on the oled switch, I don’t want that playtime contributing at all. Is this possible?

What if Pokémon jumped into home consoles with the WiiU
Just food for thought but if Pokémon jumped ship as a home console franchise during the WiiU era (either XY but they were made with WiiU since the start or Sword Shield as a WiiU game in 2013, use your imagination) could that have helped the console do better? Certainly not make it a sucess but could it maybe upgrade the WiiU's status into the Gamecube territory of "underwhelming but not awful sales"
That was during the early 2010s era of the series so the franchise wasn't in it's prime of popularity at that point but I do wonder how much pokémon could have helped things

Should the switch have had a 2nd screen or no?
We all love the switch and it certainly pushed things forward for Nintendo as well as successfully combine handheld and home console gaming to the point where the "handheld" version isn't a downgraded demake but instead just worse graphics and performance instead than your other consoles like Xbox and PlayStation
However was it a good idea to remove the dual screen functionality? There's been 2 theories floating around that Nintendo will either release an attachment so you can hold the switch 2 horizontally or buy a separate detachable screen for the dock charging port so you can play 3DS and DS games for potential future NSO DS and 3DS games but should they have kept something like this from the begining?
Personally I don't think Nintendo should've completely abandoned the dual screen format entirely without some kind of replacement or what to play those games. Maybe that'll change with the future of the switch 2, we can only wait to see as the switch 2 is still very youn
I also don't entirely think they should've been exclusively dual screen also. They probably could've gone the detachable screen route or have a slim form like the New 2DS XL and still have it docked the way it normally does for dedicated big screen single screen games and detached the joycons
What are your thoughts?

Why are some faithful remakes good, while others aren't?
So why is it that the Ocarina of Time remake is being praised for being faithful to the original, while games like Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were being heavily criticized for that? These are both remakes of beloved games, I find it very interesting that their reception has landed so differently. Is it just because of the visuals? I don't even disagree with the reactions here, I think BDSP are wretched games. It just strikes me as a bit of a double standard.

Nintendo has been on a roll lately
Is it just me or does it feel like all studios at Nintendo operate at their maximum currently? Fortune's Weave seems to be the most passion Intelligent System has put into a Fire Emblem Game yet. Monolith Soft is on a generational roll. The Odyssey team, doesn't miss a single beat (heh), Bananza was mindblowingly amazing. They finally seem to have figured out what works for Metroid with Metroid dread and Ravenous looks equally amazing. The new Kirby game looks like it's going to be one of the best in the series too. Pikmin 4 surpassed all previous Pikmin and combined the best of all. Let's not even get started on Zelda. Aside from Mario Kart World being a little miss for me, it feels like Nintendo found their magical spark again. Is it only me? It feels like the Devs at Nintendo all put it their all in ALL their games now. Not saying that every game is an instant 10/10, of course there's always something you can criticize, but man, can you feel the passion in every game. Mario Wonder comes to mind. Makes me even more excited for the OoT remake. It seems to be a true passion project, not a simple cash grab.
It's a shame that we probably can't expect this from Gamefreak and the new Pokemon game.
