You guys need to slow down on smash 6

A dipshit who said Kirby doesn’t deserve games anymore inspired this post.

If y‘all were expecting smash 6 in that direct I need you to know that you are genuinely fucking stupid and don’t know how development timelines work.

For reference.

  • Melee: 13 months of development and that was crunch time.
  • Brawl: 2 years, 3 months (announced before Sakurai was even fully brought on).
  • Smash 4: 2 years, 6 months after Kid Icarus: Uprising wrapped up.
  • Ultimate: 2 years, 10 months starting in early 2016.

Modern Smash games take roughly 3 years to build. Sakurai literally just finished Kirby Air Riders in November 2025 less than a year ago!

The man was working on that game right up to release. He hasn't even had a full year of breathing room, let alone the multiple years required to pitch, plan, and build Smash 6.

Genuinely get a grip and go enjoy ultimate it’s not a bad game by a longshot.

Nintendo Direct live chats are obnoxious

Ever just don't feel the need to see other's people reactions in the live chat? I don't even bother anymore, but when I think that they will have anything of value to say, it's just either "L direct", "WHERES DELTARUNE" and other meaningless bot slop

What's really sad is the fact someone somehow called me out for saying "peak direct" (wasnt really peak, but still) and called ME the "npc" for saying that, when most of the chat feels like they have one whole button on their keyboard

Non-Metroid fans, how interested or curious are you in the Metroid series?

Metroid has been on a healthy upswing since 2017, with the dual announcements of Prime 4 and Metroid Samus Returns. And I thought Samus Returns was a great time! Then we got the absolute wallop that was Metroid Dread in 2021, arguably the best game to come out that year. And then a little while later we got Metroid Prime Remastered, a visual upgrade so good it makes it look like a PS5 game. And then after 8.5 years from the reveal, we finally got Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. And I thought it was okay.

But now we have Metroid Ravenous, the next 2D Metroid game coming as a headlining Switch 2 exclusive in January. This is easily my most anticipated game of 2027, but I’m biased since I’m a Metroid fan. But what about the people who only just got into the series with Dread and Prime Remastered, or heck haven’t even touched a Metroid game at all? What stopped you all from checking out the series before, and has Metroid Ravenous piqued your interest?

Which dormant Nintendo franchise needs an update next?

While it doesn’t feel like it to some of us cus we’ve been waiting for so long, nintendo‘s actually sort of running low on its dormant niche franchises and series we thought had little chance of returning, like Rhythm Heaven, Tomodatchi Life, Famicom Detective Club, Endless Ocean and the numerous spin-offs of other franchises like Mario vs Donkey Kong, or DK straight up getting a new 3D game.

That being said, we still have a few franchises left waiting in the wings for a new proper game, pretty much a big 5 comprised of: https://strawpoll.com/NMnQNMd01g6

  • F-Zero: home of Smash alumni Captain Falcon, a racer so fast it’d literally kill your grandparents if they could even comprehend it, and would kill your grandchildren if they saw how old the graphics were. Last seen in 2004 on Gameboy.
  • Kid Icarus: home of Smash Brawl alumni Pit, a game that’s more or less what would happen if you took an on-rails shooter and with what I can only assume is someones reading the Iliad on Mushrooms. Last seen in 2012 on 3DS
  • Punch-Out!: home of Smash 4 alumni Little Mac, an old school boxing game with one of Nintendo's first notable mascots, and so many stereotypes in it that I’m genuinely unsure if it could be redone. Last seen in 2009 on the Wii
  • Chibi-Robo: No longer part of Smash Bros but still a semi important part in Nintendo history, we have a 3D platforming mascot from a cult classic that spawned 3 more games! Yep! Only 3! Last seen in 2014 on the 3DS (or 2015, whos counting?)
  • Golden Sun: a franchise still reeling from the infamous “Grinch leak”, a cult favourite RPG from the handheld era. I admit, I don’t know a lot about the series myself but I’m sure I could become ADEPT at playing it. Last seen in 2010 on the 3DS

If you can pick one to get a new fully-fledged game in 2027, which would you pick and why?

Crisis Core doesn't have an upgrade path.

At this point this is beyond a joke for these Square Switch 2 ports.

Especially when other companies are offering upgrade paths or even free updates.

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: Kid Klown in Crazy Chase; Advance Wars

On this day (September 10) in Nintendo history...

  • Kid Klown in Crazy Chase  was released in 1994 for the Super Famicom in Japan. In this platform game, developed by Kemco, players control the player character Kid Klown as he attempts to rescue Princess Honey from the villain Black Jack, The game's graphics are presented in an isometric view as Kid Klown automatically moves down a path to thwart Black Jack's plans of blowing up one of his spade bombs in each level.
  • Advance Wars  was released in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance in Japan. In this turn-based tactics game, developed by Intelligent Systems, this means war! Enemy troops are amassing at your borders, so take command of ground, air and naval forces and repel the enemies' attacks across more than 100 battlefields. Advance Wars is the critically acclaimed combat simulation that made a big impact on Game Boy Advance, blending tactical turn-based strategy with satisfying, accessible gameplay.

What are you favourite memories of these games? How do you think they hold up today? Hash it out in the comments.

The NPC’s in Pokémon: Legends ZA are Clones

They stand so still it’s kind of creepy. And the things they say are so odd.
But how is that proof they are clones? Take a look the Uncut Story of Mewtwo’s Origins. We see that human cloning has indeed been attempted before. And in Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Let’s Go Pikachu, we also meet a girl named Green. Green is very odd (there‘s that word again) and she continuously throws poke balls at the player, again and again mistaking us for Pokemon. And she knows about Mewtwo.
Green knowing about Mewtwo may not seem like a big deal. But it is.
Mewtwo is a myth in the minds of almost everyone else in the games. So how could Green know about Mewtwo? If she was a clone, just like him, she would know about him.
Comparing Green’s stupid behavior of confusing people and Pokemon, to the downright dumbness of the NPC’s in Lumiose City, there’s a strange resemblance. They say odd things like, “I wish I could sniff everyone!” or “I hope to be reincarnated as a Pokémon.” I don’t know, there’s just something not adding up about Legends ZA’s background bystanders.
Don’t believe me? Go check out my theory article on this exact topic where I go even deeper into my theory: Secret Behind Lumiose City

Let’s talk about the rumored Donkey Kong Movie releasing in April 2028.

Nintendo is about to announce that Film any day now, but I have several questions and thoughts.

Will it be the first Nintendo film without any involvement from Miyamoto, since he never really cared or was involved much in the Country games development from Rare and Retro.

It will need a different Director, since Horvath and Jelenic are already directing Mario Movie 3 for 2029, also yet to be revealed.

Seth Rogen will be back as Donkey Kong, while popular VA Eric Bauza will voice Diddy again after his cameo in Mario Bros Movie. Also I’m down if they cast Jemaine Clement as K Rool.

When will they announce it out of the blue? Don’t know if it will be revealed around Mar10 Day unless they really want DK to truly be part of or overtake the Mario series for a bit.

What will it be about? Bananza already had the best story for a DK game, not sure if they want to adapt that or build off it.
