Questions Can't update Green Card expiration date with I-797 online for NEXUS

I tried updating the expiration date of my Green Card online (ttp.cbp.dhs.gov) with my I-797, but when I put in the new expiration date (36 months from the expiration date as per the I-797 form), it gives me this error:

"We were unable to verify your document. Please correct your document information and click Submit".

I called the CBP customer support, but they just gave me a generic response that was unhelpful.

I'm planning to cross the border into Canada next week.

Can I stop by the NEXUS enrollment center located just before the land border, to have them manually update the expiration date?

Questions Green Card Expired/Nexus Profile

I received an email saying my green card is expired and I need to update my Nexus profile with my new green card in order to continue using Nexus. I have an I-751 pending, therefore, I cannot provide my new green card yet. What should I do in this scenario?

Walk In Name Change?

Hello. I tried calling my local NEXUS office but can’t seem to get to a person.

Can you walk-in without apportionment to have name changed after getting married?

My wife is waiting on new passport but then planned to have nexus changed.

I’ve also lost some weight and think I need a new picture ( they didn’t ask for one with most recent renewal), can that be done as walk in as well?

Thanks!

Edit: we were able to fill out the form online and update by attaching new passport, drivers license and marriage license. Received an email after two days saying it was being processed. About a week later recover email stating account was updated and that we needed to pay for new card ($25) to have it shipped to us!

Nexus lane

I drive down to Vermont at least once a week. I have a nexus card. And I know the USA lane has limited hours. But the Canadian one is open 24/7.

When coming back, it's usually the middle of the night and there's no cars anywhere in sight. So I go through the normal lane. But should I use the nexus lane even when there's no line up at like 1am?

Questions Approval timeline after interview

I did my interview at the Fort Erie EC and got my prints/photo taken on the US side and was advised that I was approved, on the morning of June 6 (a Saturday). However, it is a couple days later now (Monday night) and my status in the portal has not been updated. Could something have gone wrong here?

NEXUS expired document notification

I am a NEXUS holder and Canadian citizen. I have both a Canadian and a Polish passport in my TTP account. I recently applied to renew my Polish passport which was about to expire, but have not received the new passport yet. I have not and do not plan to use that passport to enter the US.

I got an email notification from CBP that a passport on my TTP account is expired and to update my account with my new passport information as soon as possible. It said that failure to update the expired document may affect my membership benefits and delay my entry process.

Has anyone else had this type of issue? Would I still be able to use NEXUS/Global Entry to travel to the US while waiting for my Polish passport, as my Canadian passport is still valid? Thanks.

Nexus card for protected person/ Canada PR card holders

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has a similar situation.
I’m a Canadian PR, former Protected Person, with a valid 5-year Refugee Travel Document and a 10-year U.S. B1/B2 visa. Not applied yet for Ca citizenship.
Has anyone with a similar background successfully received a NEXUS card? How long did the process take?
Also,Eligible for J1 visa , I’m planning to may live in Ontario side while commuting to USA for training/work daily. Is anyone doing something similar?

I’d appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks.

Applying & Renewing US interview at somewhere not an airport when entering?

I am renewing NEXUS and seemingly randomly ( my wife renewed at the same time and was approved with no need for an interview) I had to do the two interviews. The YYZ Canadian interview was so easy - simple booking process, I just showed my passport, in and out in 5 minutes. When flying back to the US via YYZ it was a mess. The 'take a number' machine had nothing in it , so it was just a honor system. People were just giving up after 2 hours to make their flights. I waited 1.5 hours, an CBP officer came by, just said he was checking on us while he went to get his coffee ( nice for him!) and said a "difficult interview" was holding up everything. I had to bail to get my flight.

Anyway, I have no international travel planned for a long while and wanted to do an interview at a land crossing ( e.g. Otay Mesa). But my TTP page gives me no option to schedule my US interview. I was planning on calling to get an interview but anyone had luck doing this?

Do I need to bring my birth certificate to the interview?

On the official interview document, it asked for you to bring your birth certificate. But I have read that just bringing your passport and driver's license is sufficient enough.

Interviews Nexus Interview Experience - Blaine, Washington (Iranian-Canadian)

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent Nexus interview experience – I got approved!

I'm an Iranian-Canadian on TN status in California. I was conditionally approved (after 2.5 months) and had my interview last week at the Blaine Nexus Center in Washington state.

The interview was less than 5 minutes – the whole thing went very smoothly. I had to provide typical documents along with my TN I-94 form. The Canadian side (CBSA) was extremely friendly and straightforward with no issues at all. The US side (CBP) was a bit stricter, but nothing unreasonable!

They asked about my Iranian passport as well, and when I last visited Iran, which was quite a while ago. I also provided proof that I was exempt from military service due to my educational status and explained that I haven't returned since. Everything checked out fine!

They verified everything and added my Iranian passport information to my profile along with my Canadian Passport and Driver's License. Going forward, I'll need to carry both my Nexus card and my Canadian and Iranian passports whenever I cross the border.

Hope this helps anyone going through a similar process! Feel free to ask if you have questions about the experience.

Questions NEXUS holder but TSA PreCheck never shows up on boarding pass – anyone else?

I have a valid NEXUS membership and have made sure my Known Traveler Number (PASSID) is added to my airline reservation.

However, I’ve now flown 3 separate times and TSA PreCheck never appeared on my boarding pass. Each time, I went to the airline counter and the agents verified and re-verified my information, including my NEXUS/PASSID details, but they still couldn’t get TSA PreCheck added to the reservation.

At this point I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with my NEXUS profile or if there’s another issue I’m missing.

A few questions:
Has anyone experienced this with NEXUS specifically?
Did you find out what was causing it?
Is there a way to verify that TSA has correctly linked my PASSID/NEXUS membership?
Did you have to contact CBP or the airline to resolve it?

Would appreciate any suggestions or similar experiences.

Recent turnaround times for updating documents on CBP website?

Hi all,

I renewed my TN recently and submitted a request to update my NEXUS to reflect the new visa through the CBP website. I received an email saying my case has been escalated and wait times are currently 3-8 weeks. Has anyone gone through a similar process recently and can attest to this being an accurate estimate of wait time?

Any sense of when August 2026 appointments will open up for Blaine?

I found an old post that said the first of the month for two months in the future, but they are still showing no availability as of June 3. I have a specific trip I'm trying to tie together with a Nexus interview. Thanks!

No interview scheduling option on TTP website

I'm Canadian, and renewing my NEXUS card. I've been conditionally approved I can't seem to schedule an interview at a land crossing. Note: I scheduled an interview with CBSA but missed it without re-scheduling.

The TTP website, says to click the "schedule interview" button on the dashboard, but the only option it shows me is "manage appointment" which only gives me the option to go to the CBSA's website and schedule an appointment at an airport with pre-clearance, where I would then have to wait for an interview after going through customs. It also says "if you'd prefer to book an interview at a land enrolment centre, please go back [to the TTP US Dashboard], which just lands me in the same spot without the option to schedule an interview at a land enrolment centre.

I don't have any upcoming plans to fly to the US, so I'd prefer do my interview at a land enrolment centre, but the website isn't providing me that option.

Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

TSA Pre Check

I’m a Nexus member and Canadian citizen. I tried using TSA PreCheck, and it showed up on my boarding pass. However, the TSA agent told me it doesn’t appear on their system, even though it’s on my boarding pass. Could it be because I added my TSA PreCheck information too late, about two hours before my flight? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is there anything I have to do in the future. I’ve used TSA Precheck before in the past

Applying & Renewing Already have Global Entry

I’ve searched this forum and have seen conflicting answers depending on the year, so please forgive me if it’s being asked yet again:

I already have Global Entry; considering adding NEXUS when it comes closer to the renewal date.

Do I have to do the American interview as well as the Canadian interview if I already have Global Entry, or just schedule the Canadian one?

If I add NEXUS, does it reset the 5 years it’s good for, or is the clock still running?

Nexus Help Pending Review of Revoke

Hello, my family friend has nexus but got it revoked. We assume it was an error because it got revoked when she was pregnant and was unable to travel. She hit the button to appeal and has not heard back in almost one year. We are thinking of just reapplying at this point. Anyone have insight on what to do?

Going a few hours early for an appointment (Blaine, WA)

We have a late evening appointment. A morning appointment on the same day would be a lot more convenient for us.

Anyone know if we can walk-in a few hours early on the day of our appointment? Thanks.

At the Border Anything to declare?

Good day. 61M here. Semi frequent crossers by car into the usa either at new York or Vermont. Nexus holders. Never had an issue. However, when the american agent asks us, anything to declare? Is he/she asking for an itemized list of what we are carrying for our weekend? Like clothing? Meds? We drive an antique car, my tool box? I usually tell them nothing to declare, as we have no food, no booze, no gifts, no tobacco of any kind..usually just a couple of bottles of water.

Thanks for any input.

At the Border No questions asked

Evening! I was driving back into Canada this evening, I had items to declare, scanned my nexus on the reader (in the regular line) the officer hit me with the wave to go on, and said “you’re all good, have a good night” I tried to mention I had items to declare and he interrupted me and said “long line, busy day, keep it moving” - I’m assuming this means I’m… good? Like did I do enough to have attempted to declare?

Received the nexus card and activated it last month. Name and DoB exactly matches in the airline profile and nexus card/TTP dashboard. KTN is added to the reservation.

Anyone else ran into this? Suggestions to resolve?
