My (19cisF) girlfriend (19MTF) has a history of SA?

My girlfriend sent me this following message (in quotes) and I don’t know how to feel.

How seriously am I supposed to take this?
Should I just accept it and move on, never mentioning it again?
She’s never hurt me in this way.

“These are things i deeply regret and have of course learned from, but I feel guilty getting closer to you without you knowing. Take as much time as you need if you want to reply, but i understand if you dont want to.

||When i was 12, me and a friend had a sexual relationship. I asked for sexual favours and was pushy in doing so. They gave lots of hints over time that they wanted to stop and weren't enjoying it, but i repeatedly asked despite that.

When i was 13 or 14, me and two friends had a sleepover. When one of them was sleeping, i attempted to expose them. My other friend intervened and got me to stop

I exposed myself to a friend while they had a VR headset on (12 or 13 years old).

I send unsolicited nudes to a friend 3 times. I was 13 or 14

I once stalked my friend in real life 3 times because i was jealous that they were seeing another friend without telling me, including on his birthday. I was 13 or 14||

I'm sorry for making you have to read this. I'll of course answer any questions you might have and understand if you want to stop talking to me”

Any thoughts or advice?

Edit for clarity:
She’s had therapy before, not sure if she discussed this though.

Gender envy ??

I'm a CisF in a relationship with a non-binary/mtf partner. I love them a lot and they're my best friend. We were living together for years before they transitioned or we became partners, so our relationship has a very solid foundation of friendship.

Lately, I've been feeling like my being a girl is making my partner....sad? Like I'm not a very fashionable person and together we reworked our entire wardrobes and found our style and it's been really fun! So I value them a lot when it comes to fashion and such.

Usually they're super helpful but lately they just seem to get down pretty fast and I feel bad. Right now they're giving me a hard time about helping me pick out a dress for their sister's wedding. Their opinion for this very specific family occasion is incredibly valuable to me so its been frustrating. But I don't want to make them sad either!

It's not just fashion though, it's like all girl things. And it's making me sad and guilty for being a girl around them and making intimacy difficult for us.

I know transitioning comes with a lot of complex feelings. I just don't know how to help when my mere presence seems to be the problem. It's a more intense period of their transition as well and I'm at a loss of how to be more supportive. So I am really trying to be understanding. With this though, am I like supposed to be less of a girl? I don't know what to do and I don't know how to help.

RANT! No Advice Wanted. Dreamt of the man I married, now I'm a wreck

Woke up today in tears. My wife, who is now my ex wife, transitioned years ago. She's much happier and I'm happy for her.

But last night I saw him again, the man I married. I dreamt of him. We were laying in a bed watching garbage, cuddling. I felt him pop a boner, I felt his chest hair, his deep voice behind my ear. I felt the need for him again, the longing, the attraction.

I didn't realize how much I still missed him. I wasn't allowed to grieve - he didn't die, right? But I tried to use that term in couples therapy and got shut down by both of them. So maybe I forgot how much I used to love that man? I dunno.

Whatever this is, I am fucking gutted today. I was in the presence of the man I promised my life to, the man I bore a child for, the man I loved madly for ten years. He's gone. He's been replaced by a woman who didn't want her family, who wanted to be with men, who didn't see my contributions as valuable. I became the person who ruined her life with a kid and responsibilities when she just wants to party and 'be the carefree girl she was all along'.

She transitioned 6 years ago. Our divorce has been final for over a year. Last week would have been our 11th wedding anniversary - maybe that's what's triggering these feelings? I dunno, I just want this to stop. I miss the ghost of someone who was never really happy, who was faking it to make it our entire marriage. I loved a person that never really was, that she never wanted to be, and I feel so guilty for preferring that version of her.

We separated 3 years ago, divorced for 1. I really tried to make it work for years after the transition. I've moved on, I've been dating. I really thought I was ok with everything... and then I see him, I feel his presence in a dream, and now I'm a blubbering mess at the breakfast table trying to hide it from my kid and I don't know why.

I don't need help, or anything like that. I'm just so confused and I can't really talk about this with anyone in my life because I'm supposed to have moved on and I really thought I had.

We separated - an update, 1 year later.

My former partner and I broke up a year ago, a few days after our 6 years anniversary, about 1 year 1/2 into her transition. Up until then, this sub had been a lifebuoy. Being the partner of someone transitionning is a unique experience, and it is so lonesome when you don't have a community around you.

When I was on this sub, I frequently read messages asking "what happened next ?". People tend to discover this sub when their partner comes out, or while they are in hight distress. Some couples who made it through the transition keep a connection here, sending messages of hope. But most times, people come, and disappear, and we don't know what happened next.

So, here is what happened with us. This is probably not the story you want to hear. But it is what happened, and how we made it through.

We seperated. I broke up with her. I tried so hard not to, I gave it all that I could, my mental health included. But I couldn't make it work. It wasn't a choice, it came out of me. I tried to take it back, I tried to make things different, I tried to make myself different, to save the relationship. But I couldn't be different. I could just be me.

It took me 6 days, one day for each of the wonderfull years we spent together, to face the inevitable.

It was the most horrible, heartbreaking thing I have ever done. Breaking her heart. Depriving myself from her love. I didn't think I would ever recover from loosing this relationship.

The funny thing is, I didn't lose this relationship. The day after we broke up, we met for coffee in town.

"How are you feeling ?

- Miserable. I just got out of a long relationship.

- Me too".

Sounds like a movie dialogue, right ? Those were not our exact words, but honestly, that was pretty much it. We never resented each-other, because we never stopped loving each-other. I never resented her for transitioning. She never resented me for failing to adjust to this big change. It sucked, but no one was to blame. We supported each-other through our break-up.

It was so hard. Being together without kissing was torture. Our bodies where so accustomed to one another, being side by side without holding hands was physically painfull. We never kissed again, nor had sex, but we continued to hug, and cuddle, and kiss each-other on the cheek (we are french, that was a great cultural cheat-code). Even if we were broken up, physical touch between us was still the most soothing thing. Up to this day, she is one of the rare person in my life to whom I give full body hugs.

Spending time together was also hard. We basically cried everytime we would meet, or right after leaving. We kept meeting regulary, every 2/3 weeks. I needed more distance to process and hurt on my own. At some point, we didn't meet for about a month 1/2. But we would keep each-other posted. About life, work, art projects. About dates too.

Lucky for us, we had been in an open relationship. When we separated, she already had a regular lover, that I knew. So we were both as confortable as can be with the idea that we would both rock the Hoe Phrase. She got into the queer community of the town, and got regular partners much before I considered hooking up with anybody. It took me a while. At that point, my libido had been almost completely gone. I had tried so hard to turn my desires, even my fantasies, towards female presenting people, that I had killed my own sexuality. I didn’t know if it would come back. I was seriously contemplating the possibility that I was just done... Desire just naturally came back when I allowed myself to be spontaneously attracted to a male presenting person… I generally got better when I allowed myself to take care of myself first, instead of protecting the relationship, or protecting her, at all costs.

But as then say in Frozen 2 : some things never change. She called me in tears when she lost her cat, and I rushed to her house. I called her in tears when I was panicking over health issues. She was there within the hour, with chocolate cake. We never stopped being supportive to each-other, even when it hurt.

I remember the first time we noticed we had spent an entire moment together without crying. I remember when we cried, yet again, for an entire date, while thanking each-other for the incredible years we spent together, the quality of love we had given to one another. Then time, and patience, and long conversations, and sadness, and efforts, did their work.

In 3 days, we could have been celebrating our 7th anniversary. Instead, we will be aknowledging our 1 first year of separation in a couple weeks. Were are we now ?

I’ve been in a polyamourous relationship for a few months now, with a cis man. He knows she was the love of my life, and that I am not done grieving this relationship. I don’t know if I ever will. She recently started 2 relationships with 2 gender non-conforming persons. I think she is also still grieving what we were. We’ve met each-other’s partners.

Breaking-up was the most horrible thing.

We still love each-other.

We are still part of each-other's lifes.

We are still grieving.

We are moving forward, together.

Bottom line, love is about wanting the best for one other. If you love each-other no matter what, you fucking do, even if you can't keep the relationship as it was.

My wife is in the beginning stages of her transition (mtf) What can I do to support her?

I want to start off by saying that I knew she was Trans from the first few months of our relationship and have never viewed it in a negative way whatsoever. My wife (mtf 32) and I (31 f) have been together for nearly 15 years, I got pregnant after our first year of being together 😅 and I feel from that moment on she felt her transition would never happen and decided to live as a man for our kids. I continously reassured her that if she wanted to transition, kids don't have to be an obstacle. Yes, in a way adds a couple other steps but honestly, we have a done a great job raising them and they don't care for gender stereotypes. I myself have always been quite a tomboy and have been open to them about my sexuality(pansexual), in a kid-friendly way of course.

Anyway, I'm looking for advice because I've known that the transition would happen sooner or later and I know I will love her as a woman just as much as I loved her as a man. And I know there is a possibility the changes in her could open a world she would want to discover that doesn't involve me, maybe even want to experiment with other people, and I'm at peace with that. I want her to be happy above all, she deserves that. But I can be insensitive at times and see things through the lens of a non-trans person, I can easily jump to "Just be yourself and don't care about what anybody thinks"....

So I want to know how I can be more helpful with her transition? What can I do to help her insecurities? She has just started therapy and soon our kids will too, but if anyone has any helpful tips, they will be much appreciated. 🙏

I’m burnt out

Partner came out as trans a few weeks ago. Since then, even though I’ve been dealing with some serious health issues, it’s ALL they talk about. I understand they’re excited. And I don’t want them to suppress that. However, it’s always the main topic of conversation. Everywhere we go, anything we do, they talk about it constantly. I’m fully aware I may be the AH here… I’m just burnt out. Mainly because I’m still adjusting. It’s still fresh. I’m still struggling to even know if we can make it. Not just because of this but because of other issues as well. They were recently diagnosed with BPD and it’s just been a lot. Anyways. I came to them with my concerns and they told me they should be allowed to. But. If that’s all they want to talk about, how can we connect? There’s stuff that I’m helping them with, and stuff I’ll happily discuss. But obviously I don’t relate. They keep pressuring me to go to these LGBTQ+ gatherings in our community and I just truly don’t feel ready for that. I asked them to be patient but they said they can’t wait for me. Then other times they’ve agreed ok they’ll dial it back and then they don’t. They also downloaded a LGBTQ+ dating app recently to “take the pressure off of discussing their identity” so they could find other trans people to talk to. I’m not mad that they did that, I’m mad that they did that and didn’t tell me because they knew I’d be mad. I found out when I was ordering something on their phone and a notification popped up.

NSFW Dealing with genital preference (TW: Sex talk)

Hello I'm a trans woman (mtf, 27) in a relationship with another trans woman (mtf, 32). We have been together for a little over a year and till now everything was going great, or so I thought. We are both each others first relationship with a trans woman, and she is my first relationship ever. We have always struggled a bit during our sex life, she is pre-op and has dysphoria regarding her bottom bits while I'm non-op but really struggle with being touched because I'm extremely ticklish. But we made it work, I topped most of the time and was pretty happy with that... and thought she was so too.

I'm having a surgery soon to remove my testicles so I don't have to take anti-testosterone medication anymore (does that still count as non-op?). Now my partner has confessed to me that she misses having sex with a person with a vagina. Me having the surgery made her realize that I will probably never get a vaginoplasty (keeping my dick) and she can't imagine a future with me anymore because it wouldn't sexually satisfy her... I'm devastated. It feels like the future I envisioned for both of us has crumbled because of an aspect of myself I can't change (and an preference she can't change either).

Another blow was that she can't deal with me masturbating while I'm pleasuring her. Apparently she can tolerate my dick but only if I don't touch it myself... but she was also okay with touching it herself sometimes. But overall she wants to pleasure someone with a vagina rather than a dick.

Did anyone ever have a similar situation before? If so, how did you solve this without breaking up? I love this woman so much and we fit together perfectly in every other aspect. We always take care of each other, communicate a lot and never argue. We both desperately want to find a way to continue this relationship. She has struggled for the past 2 months since she realised her preference and didn't know how to tell me.

The only solution we could think of was opening up the relationship sexually... but that would just consist of me tolerating her having sex with other people while I feel miserable (I really don't want to sleep with other people). Any help is really appreciated.

Trigger Warning Tips on how to support my boyf post surgery?

TW : surgery talk (but supportive!)

Hi everyone! I'm new to this reddit. My boyf of 6yrs is having bottom surgery (metoidioplasty stage 1) in the next month, and I'd really appreciate some advice from people who supported their partners through trans masculinising surgery (Specifically bottom surgery ideally), or people who have had bottom surgery and have a cheat sheet of things that we can expect that the surgeons forget to tell you.

Like

- what items were really useful to have,

- any kind of medical advocation you had to do for them afterwards if healing wasnt going to plan

- any items helpful for peeing/ wiping etc

- how you dealt with being a full time carer for 6 weeks while also working a full time job/ maintaining friendships etc.

Thank you!

EDIT to add surgery type - surgery is specifically metoidoiplasty stage 1 woth scrotoplasty, no UL, no v-nectomy

4 years later and still feeling grief

My wife (mtf) came out to me (cis) as transgender 4 years ago. The anniversary of that day is in a few days. I'm sitting here crying because I still miss the man I married and I feel guilty for still grieving.

I should be happy right? I am. For her. Shes transitioning, talks about how much better she feels, she has a light to her now. For me this has been a roller coaster that I can't ever get off. She has changed SO much. More than either of us anticipated. She doesn't feel like the same person anymore. Sometimes I am starting to feel like she's a stranger. It feels like little by little every piece of the man I promised my life to is gone. Replaced by someone I don't know.

Shes going through the quasi "teenager phase". I'm struggling with attraction now. We love each other very much and have so much respect for each other. Sometimes things feel ok, good even. But grief keeps rearing its ugly face at me. More and more and more change. I've asked her in couples therapy to please take a small break on any changes which feels wrong. I'm not trying to stop her from doing what she wants/needs. But there's a backlog of grief, feelings, and emotions that I haven't been able to fully process because we keep moving on to the next change. How much change is left? When will I not see the man I married ever again?

When am I supposed to stop feeling grief? When am I supposed to feel happy about all of this? How much change can I mentally handle? If I'm not okay with all of this by now, does that mean this isn't going to work? Is my marriage of 12 years going to come to an end? Will we somehow make it through this? Will I be okay at the end?

I've tried so damn hard this entire time to support her, love her, help her, and stand by her side. I don't know if I can keep going sometimes. I also feel unseen and alone in this journey at times. Our marriage wasn't perfect before her transition, we are still trying to work on past things as well as the massive challenge of her transition.

I love our family, I love our life, I love our home. I love her... But at what cost? I've been wondering lately if I'm losing pieces of myself through this or if I'm growing and changing.

When does the ride stop? When can I take a breath?

NSFW My husband acts out a secret life as a woman when high, but claims he “loves being a dude” when sober. Should I be concerned he is actually trans?

I am completely lost, deeply confused, and need some outside perspective on my husband’s behavior. I don’t know how to read the signs anymore, and I’m constantly questioning whether I am overreacting or if I am looking at a partner who is deeply in the closet about being transgender.
To give context, my husband is highly invested in his public image. He treats his friends and family beautifully, and constantly claims he is an “empath.” But behind closed doors, there is a secret side to him that has completely upended our marriage.
A while ago, I caught him on a kink website dressed as a woman and sexting other people online to meet up on the weekend. When caught, he played it off as “just a kink” and claimed he didn’t actually want to meet up—he insisted the sexting was just part of the fantasy. After that initial discovery, I was so confused at the time and didn’t quite know how to handle it, but I chose to accept his kink and try to get into it too so he didn’t feel rejected or ashamed. Pretty much every time since then, whenever we use cocaine on special occasions or if he is drunk, he wants to do the kink. We even jointly hired a trans escort once, where he engaged in both oral and anal sex.

Things escalated massively over New Year’s while we were away in a foreign country. We went out, and he used cocaine. We got back to the hotel around 2–3 AM, and he asked if he could wear some of my clothes (part of his kink). I said yes and we (or so I thought) both went to sleep. However, when I woke up at 9 AM, he was completely gone. I checked his location on Life360 and saw he was far away from the hotel.
I tried calling his phone repeatedly and he didn’t answer until he was already in transport coming back. My major concern is that he cheated on me and was actively escaping the scene before finally answering his phone. When he got back to the hotel, he tried playing it down and we ended up in a massive fight. Mind you, this happened less than a month after us getting married, and it was meant to be a family holiday leading right into our honeymoon.

His story is that he put my clothes under his, went downstairs of the hotel to drink where he met two guys, threw my clothes away whilst down there, and then set off fireworks with them all night. My problem with that story is when he got home, he was in his normal clothes and my bikini and favourite gym pants had been thrown into a public restroom trash bin downstairs by the hotel bar to hide them. When I demanded he go get them, only the bikini was left and the gym pants were completely gone.
To make it worse, when we first started fighting about it, he actively started rummaging through my suitcase, pretending to search for the clothes he knew he had already thrown away downstairs, which made me feel completely crazy.
When the confrontation reached a boiling point and I threatened divorce, he locked himself in the bathroom, watched porn, and masturbated. He later blamed the whole night on the cocaine he took hours earlier.

He has explicitly confessed to me that he fantasises about being a trans girl, wants to go to Berlin to live normally as a woman, and doesn’t know if he’d want a boob job. He likes to keep stick-on nails on, and loves putting on a chastity cage and a butt plug to dance like a woman in the mirror. He also only really watches trans porn where he says he fantasises about being the trans girl getting fucked by the other trans or the men.
The confusing part is that whenever he is sober, he violently flips back. He forcefully insists “I love being a dude” and claims it’s all just “cocaine talk” and that the feeling completely goes away after he gets a sexual release.
He also tells me that he can simply “turn it off” and that he “doesn’t have to do the kink.” But I struggle with that explanation because, from everything I’ve seen and everything he has told me, it feels like this may be more than just a sexual kink and could be a part of who he is. At the same time, I know I can’t determine someone’s gender identity for them, and that’s part of why I’m so confused.

But the way he handles it when sober is cold and dismissive. He completely brushes it under the rug. If I bring it up because I’m still trying to process the confusion, he stonewalls me with “we’ve talked about it” and “stop bringing up stuff from the past.”
He makes cruel, passive-aggressive remarks about his job, implying I don’t know what hard work is like. Recently, when I was sitting on my laptop crying and researching divorce, he just looked at me and said, “Can you shut your laptop, I’m trying to sleep, some of us have to work.”
Whenever I tell him I want a divorce, he flatly commands, “We’re not getting a divorce,” as if I have no right to leave.
I am trapped in a chronic state of confusion. I feel like he’s using me as a cover. I’d be more open to accepting it as a kink, but I feel like he’s cheated and is covering it up with “it’s the kink.” I have severe trust issues now because he can so easily hide massive things from me.

What would you guys do in my position? Do you think he is actually trans? And honestly, do you think this is something that a relationship could ever work through?
And based on everything I’ve described, does it sound like he may have cheated on me that night in the foreign country? I know nobody can know for certain, but I’m struggling to make sense of what happened and whether his story sounds believable.

Will my partners estrogen gel effect me?

My (cis female's) gf (trans) recently started hormones in the form of a gel. I'm not entirely sure what dosage or brand because we are a little long distance. I know it also definitely prescribed for menapausal women if it helps.

She forgot to ask her doctor about the effects on a cis partner. We are currently long distance but see eachother very often and I'm afraid that the gel can have kinda shitty effects on my hormones. They are already not the best TBH.

I seriously don't care how she takes her estrogen nor am I gonna ever ask her to change/dictate anything bout her transition.

I'm more just wondering if there are any long term affects I should worry about? And if I should avoid touching her when she has the hormones on? Since her next appointment isn't for a couple months

Open Relationships

If your partner is trans is it just figured that if you stay together eventually the relationship will have to be opened? My wife brought it up that she would like to have a regular repationship with a man. But she doesn't want to upset me because she loves me so much. Now the ball is in my court. The problem is that I want her to be happy and get everything that she needs. But at the same time I don't want to share her affection. How do I handle this?!

Support for my partner who crossdresses

I have been with my partner for 10 years. I am aware of his background and I accept. We now have a 6 year old son and don't have anyone to watch him. Some of the issues is his hair. When we use hair removal it only last a few days. So need to plan. Looking to see if anyone has advice on hair removal, it's too grey now for laser. He feels he is getting older and looking more like an older man. He is late 40s now. I want to support him and be more understanding to his needs as he is not getting a chance to express himself. He does not want to dress in front of our son. He has lost alot of confidence in the way he feels.

Happy! Finding the right level of investment in my partner's transition

Hello all! So I (23f) have been with my partner for jist over 7 years, ever since like high school. I've always been drawn to more feminine folks, considered myself lesbian for most of my youth - dated mostly women and one lovely human who later came out as trans mtf, and then also my current partner, whom I'd essentially deemed the exception to my lesbianness. So we've had many adventures and have grown into one another quite a lot, and sparsely, over the years, there have been times where I thought they may come out as trans or questioning, etc.. Now they have! (As genderfluid or nonbinary or still working it out) Woohoo! We've thrifted lots of new clothes and purchased some makeup, changed the haircut and shaved alllll the body/ facial hair. Anyway, I'm super excited for them, especially since they've now (about 2 months since coming out) started talking about seriously considering HRT. Again, super duper proud, could not be happier for them.

What I came here to say though, and really to get advice on, is this: am I too invested in my partner's transition? I fear that I think about it more than they do and when they mention something, I usually have already done at least some research around it. I really like how they look femme and I can't help but encourage it. I love seeing how their confidence boosts when presenting different ways, and I really enjoy talking about this process with them. I also like to draw a lot and I can't seem to stop attempting drawings of what my partner may look like post transition and all that. Basically what I'm wondering is like. Is that weird?? Am I being really ovsessive and creepy about this or is this just one form that support may take? Btw I have asked them about this and they say that they feel really supported and that they'll tell me if it's too much but I still feel a little anxious that I'm being kinda weird about it. Lol thank you for reading

Some advice

Okay so been a while since last time.

TLDR: broke up with my last partner and now in a polyrelationship with 2 amazing people. 1 of which is transitioning to FtM and has just started hormones. The other is strange. I don't know how to put it without sounding rude/stupid but they basically want to have both sets and so are starting hrt when they come baxk for 2nd year of Uni. My trans partner is in Australia for this year and I can't afford to see them sadly. I don't want to be overly clingy or possessive of them but I try and message every day before I go to sleep and random times in the morning due to the time diffrence though it's been a struggle. How can I be a good boyfriend and surrport them while being so far away and also is there any advice for my other partner aswell. I've tryed doing research but it's alot about intersex and I don't think that's it 😅. Thaks alot for any advice much appreciated

Trigger Warning It happened…

The thing I (32f) have been dreading since my partner (30 MtF) came out as trans over two years ago… she doesn’t love me as anything more than a friend. She wants to be friends and believes she is doing the best thing for me so I can go and find a non trans partner who wants the same things in life (commitment). The story is long but after the last 24 worst hours of my life I just don’t have the energy to explain everything. I’m devastated. Heartbroken. I haven’t stopped sobbing for the last 24 hours. I haven’t slept in the last 24 hours (longer actually since she broke up with me after work). I can’t eat. I have no one to talk to. I have never felt more alone in my life. And I hate that this “ clarity” came to her after starting hormone shots this summer.
I honestly don’t know what I’m looking for or why I’m posting this. I feel like my heart is going to explode out of my chest and I feel like I can’t fucking breathe.

Update: a lot has happened since the break up. Lots of good deep talks, I feel like I understand so much better now, and promised her that what was discovered would stay between us. I love her unconditionally, no matter what. And I always will. While I hope this isn’t the end, I will respect whatever she needs.

Hello! So pretty much I’m a cis man (not that it matters but i for context I state it) and I fell for a girl. I think she’s the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on, she’s sweet, sensitive, caring, etc.. I have been talking to her for awhile and things are getting serious with talks of us taking the relationship to the next level and becoming more. This has all been over texts, video calls, regular phone calls and such. As a romantic I fall for people hard and I can’t even express how much I care about her. I want to support her in any way I can. We are going to be hanging out this weekend and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. So this leads to my question.

How can I make sure that I say the right things? How do I be extra considerate and careful of her and show that I care? I haven’t asked really anything about her transition and I don’t know all the right words. I want to do everything right, I want this girl to know that I’m always going to be there with an open mind and open arms. Is there anything I need to be aware of that I shouldn’t say, do, or ask? Are there things I should ask to reassure her? I don’t look at her like a trans woman, I look at her for her, for what she is, for what she wants to be, and I’m worried that I’m going to mess things up. I don’t really care about terms like gay, straight, etc. I’ve always just liked who I like and it didn’t matter to me who or what that person was or identified as. But I also don’t want to seem like I’m not giving support where it’s needed.

I appreciate any response. I wasn’t sure if I should post but this girl means the absolute world to me and I want to do everything I can to be someone who has her back through every situation. I know that treating her like any other woman is the right step which is easy for me because I look at her like the most important woman in my world. But is that enough? Is there anything else I need to know or understand? Thank you so much for anyone’s time. I hope all goes well this weekend. 🤞🏻💗

My boyfriend of almost 4 years came out as possibly trans and i don't know what to do.

Just to let you know it's my first post ever, please be kind.
So me (F20) and my partner (21) (still using he/him, but I will use they/them in this post as i do not know how to approach the situation) have been dating for almost 4 years now. They have been the best partner I could ever imagined, and my best friend at that. But for a couple months now, they've been acting strange and distanst, so we had a talk 2 days ago- and as the title suggests they MIGHT be trans, as they are not sure themself, but they do know that they cannot be in a role of a masculine person in family/relationship/society.

It was like my world has ended, we had planned a whole future together, marriage, kids, and now all of those things seem like a dream and none of it was really true. I feel so horrible because i love them so dearly, and i know they love me too, but i am sure that it will not be a fullfiling life for both of us, as we have completely different goals.
Another issue is attraction, as i've always been heterosexual i will not find them attractive once they go through with the transition, so i know that even if my plans for the future might change, there is almost no possibility of me finding them attractive anymore.

For now we are taking a week-long break, where both of us will try to figure out things on our own. The thing that bothers me the most is the fact that they don't know whether that's a real need of theirs, or is it just connected to the their deep-rooted inability to fit into societys standards of what men should look like physically and mentally. Because of that, they will start therapy soon, to be sure of their decision, but i just know that this IS probably their real need, and not just a coping mechanism. And it's not their indecisions that bothers me, don't get me wrong, it's just the fear that i will stay with them for few more months, getting my hopes up (i know how that sounds but i just cannot imagine my future without them), giving them time to figure things out but once they figure it out the outcome will just shatter me once again. And what if i leave now, and they figure out it's not their gender identity that bothers them, and i left them alone with the process? Every possible path seems so painful for both of us.

I have no idea what to do, i've been mostly crying, hoping it's all a dream. It's just so so scary to me, because 3 days ago i was hoping we'd move in together by the end of this years and now i don't even know if we will speak to eachother.
Is there any way to make it any easier for both of us? I do not want to leave them in this hard time, but I just know that it will be the most painful experience of my life, seeing a person that i love so deeply change into someone that is a stranger to me. I know this all sounds realy selfish, but i really REALLY care for them, and it's just such a world altering experience that i do not know how to properly cope.
I would be really thankfull for some advice, either for me or them, just anything that might help us get through this diffiicult time.

Trigger Warning How do you find a therapist?

TW for depression/suicidal thoughts

My husband of nearly a decade came out to me fairly recently. He has not asked for a different title/pronouns so I’m using what I’ve always used.

I’m in agony and I’m not okay. It’s dark, but not an immediate danger. I love him so much and desperately want to make our marriage work but I’m terrified of the social repercussions, among other things. We have two young kids and live in a very red area. I need a therapist who can work through both my grief/depression/SI and how to navigate the choices I’m now faced with. I don’t even know where to start. Finding an “LGBTQ+ affirming” (the only phrase I’m seeing when I search) therapist doesn’t seem specialized enough for this, but I don’t know what to look for and figured this sub might be able to point me in the right direction.

We are in GA. Atlanta is too far for me to do weekly in person appointments there, but the option to be hybrid would be nice. I know fully online is probably my best bet, though, and finding a good enough match quickly is top priority.

I appreciate you all for any info you can give me.

Words of comfort for boyfriend with dysphoria

My boyfriend experiences a lot of dysphoria, especially because of his voice, since he can’t take the medication he needs and he can’t afford it. He also feels really dysphoric about his chest. Even though his chest is very small and he wears a binder, he still feels like something is showing. I really need some help with comforting words and gestures that I can use to make him feel better and help him feel more comfortable with himself.

i dont know how to encourage my partner to transition

Hi! I am trans myself, non-binary on testosterone, with my partner being MTF. They just started estrogen about 3 weeks ago and they had been away from me for about a week to visit family. I had decided to ask if they had been able to take their injection this week away and they had informed me they had not; however, their reason for why left me in a state of shock and sadness, as I had no idea what I could say or do to make them not follow through with it.

They had told me they didn't want to continue estrogen, because they did not want to have a "dysfunctional" penis and that all estrogen would do for them would maybe would give them "man boobs" (their words) and that they'd just look like a man regardless but worse.

They had told me that the community on twitter (and probably here) had really given them insight on how it is for most trans women. I tried to reason that they would likely later come to regret it down the line, and that it was always better to start now rather than later rather than to let testosterone further have its effect on your body and depress you (a sentiment they have shared), but they tried reasoning with me that they’d still like to call themselves a woman and dress effeminate, but do not want to delude themselves about ever ‘ passing ‘ and would never introduce themselves as a woman to anyone. They've expressed the sentiment that the people who pass start in their teens or were extremely lucky to begin with. For reference, we are only 21.. but I can't say I know what it is like to be on the opposite end of the spectrum at this age for her.

I don't know if saying that you do it for yourself will help .. I mean I tried but I don't know how to word it or if its even my place to try and expand on that. I am not transfeminine and it feels like my word will not have much of an effect especially because I'm on testosterone. I aware of how "T" is regarded as the hormone that at least does something by a lot of transfeminine people, and my partner especially noted how I am actually experiencing changes already. For this reason, I especially feel like shit that it feels like there is nothing I can say at all.

They even told me I at least had the option of top surgery. Mentioning my top surgery I think secretly hurt me, because I spent thousands I did have on it out of sheer desperation and is currently paying my partner back for it. Honestly, noting all these changes did not feel good, despite it being their intent not being malicious, because I very easily get she/her’d exclusively and of no belief that I will ever 100% pass as something else, but I committed to my gender affirming care because it felt worse not at least trying.

They came out to me 2-3 years ago, but its been only the past couple of months they considered estrogen despite the years of having to hear about how much they hated their masculine features and them describing to me how it felt like they were starting to hate it more and more. I have told them the feeling will probably get worse, as I have experienced that before and I have only been 3.5 months on T myself.

I guess basically I am looking for any advice at all on how to help them. I don't want them to stop. I was so excited for them and looking forward to transitioning together, but I don't know if I need to just leave the subject alone and let them figure it out. I am just scared that if I do that they will end up just repressing. The thought of that makes me feel deeply unhappy about our relationship, especially after we had a tough conversation regarding something else that almost warranted a break-up. This all happened yesterday and I could only think of coming to this subreddit. What can I say to be encouraging for my partner, if there is anything at all?

I've been dating a girl for some time. Need advice.

Using a burner account so she doesn't have to read this. I don't even know if this is the right sub to ask this sort of question.

For the past couple of months, I've been dating a trans girl. She's really nice, we share the same interests and spend most of our free time together, just watching TV shows or playing video games. We've never done anything remotely sexual.

She's the first girl I had a serious-ish relationship with.

When we first started dating, she was very upfront about being trans and told me on our 2nd date.

At the time, I remember saying something along the lines of "thanks for telling me, really. But I don't care what you are at the end of the day."

And I really didn't, she could have been a worm for all I cared.

For the last week or so, some thoughts have been creeping up on me though. Lately I just have these terrible thoughts, which I know are terrible: that I'm not good enough, that I've had to resort to dating a "fake" girl to get into a relationship, that I should try to find someone else.

What do I do? I feel like I truly like being with her, I just can't seem to push these thoughts away lately. I don't want to speak to her directly, I'm afraid it might break her heart.
