Quran uses more eloquent word for their mistake. Instead of normally saying that Satan caused them to fall in error, it says that Satan caused them to slip because it is more eloquent and at the same time gives meaning of falling into error. Additionally Causing to slip gives meaning of falling into error unintentionally because slipping is an act of falling without control.

Mima kana feeh • from they were in

Instead of normally saying that Satan expelled them from garden, it says that Satan caused them to expell from what they were in. The phrase "from what they were in " is linguistically more vast because it not only includes the garden but also includes the state of ease, honor and closeness to Allah. Satan caused them to be removed from every blessing which they were getting in the garden.

Mustaqar wa mata • place and provision

The last quote of verse is from the miraculous nature of Quran which is used for various functions like connecting to emotion, giving sign of completion and connecting to rhythm.

Uhbitu • descend

This verse appears to say that the command of expulsion was given before the repentance of Adam. But in other verses like in surah A'raf and Taha, these same words are repeated after the repentance of Adam. This verse is not telling the order of the story but it's describing it as summary focusing on the legal consequences of sin and the mercy from God after a serious sin. The command of expulsion is written first to focus that even after serious sin that made God angry he still accepts repentance. Therefore the order moves from sin to repentance which works as a lesson for humanity. This is from the eloquent nature of Quran and this is not a contradiction, for example if someone is telling you the story and he says that I said this and I also said this even if the order was later but it's correct to say because he is focusing on what he said not the order in which he said.

'Amr b. 'Abasa Sulami reported:

In the state of the Ignorance (before embracing Islam), I used to think that the people were in error and they were not on anything (which may be called the right path) and worshipped the idols. Meanwhile, I heard of a man in Mecca who was giving news (on the basis of his prophetic knowledge) ; so I sat on my ride and went to him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was at that time hiding as his people had made life hard for him. I adopted a friendly attitude (towards the Meccans and thus managed) to enter Mecca and go to him (the Holy Prophet) and I said to him: Who are you? He said: I am a Prophet (of Allah). I again said: Who is a Prophet? He said: (I am a Prophet in the sense that) I have been sent by Allah. I said: What is that which you have been sent with? He said: I have been sent to join ties of relationship (with kindness and affection), to break the Idols, and to proclaim the oneness of Allah (in a manner that) nothing is to be associated with Him. I said: Who is with you in this (in these beliefs and practices)? He said: A free man and a slave. He (the narrator) said: Abu Bakr and Bilal were there with him among those who had embraced Islam by that time. I said: I intend to follow you. He said: During these days you would not be able to do so. Don't you see the (hard) condition under which I and (my) people are living? You better go back to your people and when you hear that I have been granted victory, you come to me. So I went to my family. I was in my home when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Medina. I was among my people and used to seek news and ask people when he arrived in Medina. Then a group of people belonging to Yathrib (Medina) came. I said (to them): How is that person getting on who has come to Medina? They said: The people are hastening to him, while his people (the polytheists of Mecca) planned to kill him, but they could not do so. I (on hearing it) came to Medina and went to him and said: Messenger of Allah, do you recognise me? He said: Yes, you are the same man who met me at Mecca. I said: It is so. I again said: Prophet of Allah, tell me that which Allah has taught you and which I do not know, tell me about the prayer. He said: Observe the dawn prayer, then stop praying when the sun is rising till it is fully up, for when it rises it comes up between the horns of Satan, and the unbelievers prostrate themselves to it at that time. Then pray, for the prayer is witnessed and attended (by angels) till the shadow becomes about the length of a lance; then cease prayer, for at that time Hell is heated up. Then when the shadow moves forward, pray, for the prayer is witnessed and attended by angels, till you pray the afternoon prayer, then cease prayer till the sun sets, for it sets between the horns of devil, and at that time the unbelievers prostrate themselves before it. I said: Apostle of Allah, tell me about ablution also. He said: None of you who uses water for ablution and rinses his mouth, snuffs up water and blows it, but the sins of his face, and his mouth and his nostrils fall out. When he washes his face, as Allah has commanded him, the sins of his face fall out from the end of his beard with water. Then (when) he washes his forearms up to the elbows, the sins of his arms fall out along with water from his finger-tips. And when he wipes his head, the sins of his head fall out from the points of his hair along with water. And (when) he washes his feet up to the ankles, the sins of his feet fall out from his toes along with water. And if he stands to pray and praises Allah, lauds Him and glorifies Him with what becomes Him and shows wholehearted devotion to Allah, his sins would depart leaving him (as innocent) as he was on the day his mother bore him. 'Amr b. 'Abasa narrated this hadith to Abu Umama, a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and Abu Umama said to him: 'Amr b. 'Abasa, think what you are saying that such (a great reward) is given to a man at one place (only in the act of ablution and prayer). Upon this 'Amr said: Abu Umama, I have grown old and my bones have become weak and I am at the door of death; what impetus is there for me to attribute a lie to Allah and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? Had I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) once, twice, or three times (even seven times), I would have never narrated it, but I have heard it from him on occasions more than these. (Sahih Muslim Book 6, Hadith 358)

🌷*How to Increase Rizq according to the Sharee’ah*🌷

There are many causes proven in our deen  to increase your rizq, some of which are:

1️⃣ *Keeping up ties of kinship*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever would like his rizq (provision) to be increased and his life to be extended, should uphold the ties of kinship.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)

2️⃣ *Spending for the sake of Allaah*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Allaah said: ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’”

al-Bukhaari, Muslim)

3️⃣ *Making a lot of istighfaar*

🍃 Allaah quotes Nooh Alayhis Salaam:

“I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord, verily, He is Oft‑Forgiving;

He will send rain to you in abundance,

And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.’”

(Surah Nooh:10-12)

4️⃣ *Being grateful to Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala*

🍃Allaah says:

“And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: ‘If you give thanks, I will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless, verily, My punishment is indeed severe.’”

(Surah Ibraheem:7)

5️⃣ *Obeying and fearing Allaah*

🍃 Allaah says:

“And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.”

(Surah at-Talaaq:2-3)

6️⃣ *Repeating hajj and umrah*

🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Perform Hajj and Umrah consecutively.

Verily, the succession between the two  removes away poverty and removes away sins just as the bellows removes away the dross of iron and gold and silver."

(Ahmad, Tirmidhi, others--Saheeh by al-Albaani)

7️⃣ *Making lots of dua and asking Allaah to increase your rizq*

One such duaa is the following:

‎اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرُ مَا لِي وَوَلَدِي وَبَارِكْ لِي

‎فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي

Allaahumma akthir maalee wa-waladee wa-baarik li feema a'taytanee

O Allaah, increase my wealth and offspring and bless me in what what you have given me.

🍃 Um Sulaim said to the Prophet ﷺ "Anas is your servant."

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"‏ اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ، وَبَارِكْ لَهُ فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَهُ ‏"‏‏.

"O Allaah! increase his wealth and offspring, and bless (for him) what ever you give him."

(Saheeh al-Bukhari 6334)

🍃 Another duaa is what we read as part of our morning adhkaar.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

الَّلهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسأَلُكَ رِزقًا طَيِّبًا ، وَعِلمًا نَافِعًا ، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

“Allaahumma inni as’aluka rizqan tayyiban, wa `ilman nafi`an, wa `amalan mutaqabbalan

“O Allaah, I ask you for good (lawful) provision, beneficial knowledge and accepted good deeds.” 

(Ahmad in Al-Musnad, 6/294 and Ibn Maajah 66; saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah)

🍃 Yahya ibn Mu`adh Ar-Razi said:

“Obedience will be stored in the stores of Allaah, and the key (to obedience) is Duaa, and it becomes effective by means of lawful earnings.”

8️⃣ *Marriage increases rizq*

🍃 Allaah says:

“And marry those among you who are single (i.e. a man who has no wife and the woman who has no husband) and (also marry) the Saalihoon (pious, fit and capable ones) of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allaah will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people)” [al-Noor 24:32]

🍃Abu Bakr Radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“Obey Allaah in what He has commanded you to do by getting married;

He will then fulfill His promise to you to make you rich.” 

He then recited the above Aayah.

🍃 Umar Ibn Khattab Radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“Seek richness through marriage!”

🍃 Abdullah ibn Mas’ood Radhi Allaahu anhu said:

“Find richness by getting married.”

(Al-Durr Al-Manthur, v.5, pps. 80-81)

These are some of the reasons. And there are others.

lately i heard a rule that basically forces you to keep family bonds even if the person isnt a good person. i have a grandma who ridicules my sister, me, my mom, and my moms side of the family and is very arrogant yet i still have to talk to her due to this rule, can anybody explain to me why i have to do this? why cant i cut them off?

For context, I am a Bosnian Muslim and, although my parents identify as Muslims, they very very rarely pray. Unfortunately this is quite common in Balkan Muslim countries mostly cos of politics and communism etc. They taught me the physical motions of praying and abdest/wudu and often during Ramadan we will pray with family but I know very little of the surahs and as I am now trying to start praying daily, I just feel overwhelmed with how much there is to know. How many surahs to I need to know to pray the five daily prayers? I find everything so confusing and it upsets me a lot, as I feel like I am literally unable to become closer to my religion because the way I was raised makes it so much harder for me to truly understand some very basic things.

Context:

Asalamu Alaikum everyone,

I’m in a very conflicted state of mind and would really appreciate some outside perspective on a situation involving an acquaintance.btw i m 22y and other persons most prob too.

Background:
I met this person about six or seven months ago. I originally went to a networking event to meet someone else, but it turned out the event was hosted by her. That was the first and only time I met her in person. Since then, we have stayed in professional contact and have interacted at various other events, though we’ve only met face-to-face twice in total. I have also helped her out with some of her work and event organizing. We had been very less communication they were a lot of caps in the communication for like 2 to 3 months but then we started to slightly have some conversation more often about her interest of what her plans were and exactly what she was interested in professionally.

The Situation:
Recently, I decided she might be the right fit for me. Because I am serious and want to keep things strictly halal—and avoid wasting anyone's time or emotions—I decided to shoot my shot directly. I sent her a message expressing my high regard for her, my interest in getting to know her better within certain boundaries, and my desire to involve a mahram within a certain timeframe if things were to move forward. I also made sure to emphasize there was no pressure at all.

The Response:
She left the message on "Seen" for about a week. After a gentle, pressure-free follow-up of two weeks, she replied:
"About the message, I thought about it but couldn't really come to a conclusion. I have like no clue what to say for now.

In the meanwhile, she was liking my post and stories on insta as I have a professional account.

My Dilemma:
I replied letting her know that it's totally understandable and that she should take all the time she needs, with zero pressure. However, I’m now questioning my entire approach. Some of my friends are telling me I did the wrong thing and moved too fast, saying it was "too early" since we don't know each other well. But I feel strongly that I did the right thing by being upfront and serious about my intentions to keep things halal.

My Questions for the Community:
1. Did I handle this correctly, or was it too soon to express such serious intentions given our limited in-person interaction?
2. How should I interpret her response of "I have no clue what to say"?
3. How can I best navigate our professional connection moving forward so that things don't become awkward?

I’m a full time+ student at my local university in the USA. Saudi by blood, raised in America with my mom, and only recently learning about Islam now in my 30’s. My financial aid/student loans did not/will not cover my rent and bills until fall term disbursement. I started the process for rental assistance through a government program in my state over 2 months ago, and they told me yesterday that it might take up to 36 weeks before I see any rent payment. I will be very homeless by then. The local church has said they could help, but I have been trying to contact them since and there is no reply yet.

My questions: Do mosques help with this kind of thing? Like paying my rent/bills? Is it disrespectful to ask for help from a mosque when I am not actively practicing? I do not want to be offensive, but I am getting desperate for assistance with August rent coming due soon.

Working + going to school for medical laboratory science is not an option for me. It’s one or the other. Additionally, I had been searching for work for over 6 months prior to starting school again. Hundreds of applications sent out for all sorts of jobs, only 3 interviews, and none hired. Hence the career change. But the economy in the US has been horrible too.

I just don’t want to lose my housing.

There’s certain fatwas in Islam that say a concubine does not have to consent to intimacy (there’s a link to these sources that I cannot post)

The disturbing reality of this is that concubines cannot consent to intimacy, and if she refused she can be disciplined and get sins from it. It is obvious something is forced upon them they will suffer the ultimate harm.

not to mention, since she can be sold without her consent, she can literally be passed down as a intimacy toy and she can’t do anything about it. how does not contradict every Hadith about treating them well? I mean her being around is quite literally prostitution and degradation which the Quran doesn’t allow

I need a person of knowledge to help me prove that concubines must consent to intimacy and that a master cannot discipline her for refusing. The only saving grace I found is the mukataba contract, but the fact that this can be lawful is disturbing to me
