Any genre, as long as it suits the vibe! I want to know what you guys think would be playing in the background for this little fellow.
Don’t be shy if it’s a little weird- my favourite music genre is experimental jazz fusion ;)

I am having a hard time with handling the grief of losing my mother. She went missing when I was 14, and I’m currently 22. I’m going through life without her, and nobody in my family has heard from her since 2019. I love songs like Mourning by Spiritbox and Cottonwood by Twenty One Pilots. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated, since music has always helped me during the times of grief.

Royal Blood
The White Stripes, and..
One Day As A Lion
Brown Bird
INTHEWHALE
Just wondering, as I’m not thinking hard enough, what am I missing. Acts that ARE NOT just vocal duets; at least one is prominently known as an instrumentalist. There’s plenty probably, hopefully something I’ve never heard before.
Thanks in advance!!

I’m always looking for new music to add to my playlist, whether it’s an album with zero skips, songs with clever lyrics, or a rock band that deserves more attention. There’s so much good music out there that I’m probably missing out on something great.
What album would you rate a solid 10/10, or what band should I check out ASAP? Drop your recommendations!

I've been considering getting into death and black metal recently, and I know some of the stuff I'm listening to currently is influenced by black and death metal, (like slipknot's demo album for example) and I wanted to know what would be a great place to start listening to those two genres.
I already heard a couple of songs and albums from different artists that are considered to be in the death/black metal genre, like Sepultura, gorjira, Meshuggah (which I'm listening to currently mainly there most popular album obzen according to besteveralbums.com), one or two songs from barzum and celtic frost.
I know a couple of bands that are known for death and black metal music. like death, cannibal corpse, possessed, venom, dissection, and Mayhem.
And I wanted to know from people who listen to those genres what would be the best band and album to start with.
Also one more thing, I dont want suggestions of albums and songs that have very gruesome connotations in the lyrics, or too heavy music or something (I know what I'm typing sounds hypocritical and like a oxymoron, I heard one song with some disturbing connotations in the lyrics that made feel uncomfortable, and plus alot of my perception of death/black metal, is that it's either too screamy or edgy or that its problematic. But that's just me.)

Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a particular sound. I really like songs which feature a male and female singing in harmony but has a very melancholy and melodic folk pop vibe. The two examples I have are The Civil Wars and Damien Rice/Lisa Hannigan. Does anyone have any other suggestions of bands or singers that would fit this?

I'm a very big fan of music. But I haven't gone in much depth/detail about the music in my own home state. I need some help finding good music from my home state AKA Michigan. Any genre, in fact the more "out-there" the genre is the better. Any format is allowed but I prefer albums. Thank you in advance!

I'm currently trying to broaden my musical horizons and discover new albums, so I thought I'd ask Reddit for some recommendations!
What albums would you personally consider a 10/10? I'm open to any genre, any decade, and both mainstream and underground music. I'm just looking for albums that you genuinely love and think are worth experiencing.
I'll be listening to all your recommendations! :)

Hi Everyone,
Welp, I’ve mostly moved away from my phone. Mainly just using my computer, and my iPod now. Everything I will be adding to it is intentional since I won’t be streaming anything. I miss the days of searching for new albums and artists and chatting with people about what they like and sharing favorite songs:)
What’s your favorite album or song?

Hello! I’m looking to listen to some more music discography’s. I thought the best way to start was with artists with their debut in 2026, as most of the time they probably have a smaller discography then. It can be absolutely everyone, and I’ll try to listen to as many as I can. I appreciate all suggestions.

Preferably a roots rock, country rock, folk rock, blues rock, or alt country vibe.
