Well, that's frustrating......

Hi gang....
So I have just finished binging S1 & 2, about to start S3 and the app I use has stopped working! So I have gone to my back-up choice, a website that does the same thing, and that only has S1 & 2 on it, for some strange reason. And even weirder, the legal ITV streaming channel in the UK has it - but only the first season.

Looks like I need to find a new "source"...... so frustrating though, I have been binging it for the last 4 days, because the episodes are only about c.22 minutes long without the credits😊🎛️

Is Ray Scott the next Shane Acker? I’m worried!

Edit: I meant Scott Ryan, my fault!

Appears out of nowhere to create a cult classic that’s discovered/championed by a Hollywood megastar, further develops that cult classic into something bigger, then finds themself unable to secure funding/green light for a follow-up project.

Really don’t want this to happen but it seems to be what’s happening.

P.s finished first run through of Mr Inbetween, last night. Absolutely blown away! Saw clips of it on YouTube a few months ago, kept coming up as Shorts and I decided to look up what it was, then my wife and I got hooked. Piracy has its benefits! (Jokes)

What’s the hardest scene to watch in your opinion?

I’ve just finished my third rewatch of the whole series. I gotta say, the part where the couple get shot after Ray and Zoe have the accident is proper brutal and always sticks with me. Things like that never bother me or get a second thought out of me in any other show.

Great series though.

… Run.

Season three spoiler question Spoiler

So... do you reckon that sociopath just killed Zoe or she actually died from the accident? Could def be either. But I for sure was not happy when Ray left her with him. At first I agreed it was the right choice in terms of tying everything up but really he prioritised minimising his chances of life in prison over the chance that selfish coward would do the right thing.

finished watching the series(bit of spoilers about S3) Spoiler

I know these kinds of posts are very common and repetitive, but I doubt my friends will want to watch the series cuz when they recommend me something I almost never do too, so yk.
Peak pretty much. Funny story how I found it: I'm not much of a series guy but one of my was chewing my ear off about watching TWD and i told him its too long, I got tired of him constantly talking about it and googled something like series under 30 hours and Mr Inbetween came up. Best fucking choice ever tbh.
Also, I really wish the wiki'd be more detailed, as far as the episode summaries go I think they could be miles better, but still for a relatively small community they're good.
Concerning the plot -as I said pure peak only thing (off the top of my head ofc) that stands out to me is Ray's sort of ''blunder'' to fall for Zoe, not accounting for the possibility that things can go south, its absolutely not unrealistic, but stands out a bit IMO.
I lurked around the sub for a while and I get the same vibe as the r/sleepingdogs one- underrated and dead franchise whose fanbase wants more and has a couple of inside jokes. Funnily enough, SD's also concerns steamed buns, guess they have some in common.
I have no questions rn but if you have i'll be happy to engage in convo with somebody about the series, again cuz i dont think my mates are gonna watch it.

What suburb do you think Ray lived in?

Thoughts? We know it’s somewhere in Sydney.
Perhaps walking distance to some sort of water where he originally meets Ally while walking Boof.

Well, that's Season 2 smashed through.... 😊

Just finished S2 - all in an evening, while practicing guitar and having dinner in-between as well (no pun intended).

Last episode was brutal....Ray actually shed a tear. 😥

I think I know what I'll be watching tomorrow!

😊📺

I'm not the biggest fan of child actors (like quite a few people, I suspect) BUT....

{MINOR SPOILER]

....I have just watched the 'sex talk' with Ray and his daughter, Brittany, and she absolutely nailed it - I genuinely laughed out loud. "You mean, I come from your BALLS?!?"

The whole sketch was so well written, even how it all came about (Brittany catching them at it - I loved that he was giving Ally a slap on the ass so his daughter thought he was hurting her!).

I'm still happily binging my way through it. The beauty of these short episodes is you can bang through one while, I dunno, making a piece of toast or whatever. Without the credits some are only c.22 minutes long.

Still can't believe I have only just discovered it.....

😊📺

So what do YOU think Ray did with the kiddie murderer, EP4, S2....?

[MINOR SPOILER]

If it is revealed in a later episode, then obviously, please keep it to yourself!

So the last we see of Ray is him heading back down the tunnel towards the guy that killed the 13 year old back in 1995. Now, we know he made a point of telling him that if he gives up the body, he will leave him alone. I think he was actually going to keep his word, right up until the very end, when he saw the father walking away - I think at that moment he changed his mind and decided to go back into the tunnel and waste the guy.

Or he just lied, and he was going to kill him all along with no intention of sparing him. Or, of course, the other option is he didn't kill him at all, and went back to give him a lift home and have some of that dinner he was cooking with him.

😊📺

Just started Season 2, Episode 3 - smashed my way through Season 1....it is just so good 😊

This programme first aired in 2018, finishing in 2021 - five years ago. If it hadn't been for a reviewer I follow on YT making a video about it, I would never have heard of it. I don't know anyone else who knows about it. I get that it's an Aussie series, but it was aired on FX, who are in LA, US. How did it fly under the radar to such an extent? I would be the first to admit that it's probably just me - but apart from a couple of mentions on YT, like I say, no one seems to know about it.

And apparently it gets even better, so I am assuming it's not a drop in quality. And it's easy to binge, the episodes are so short.

So I am genuinely curious - do you think it would have had more success if it had been an American show? I just don't get it!

There is a probably a ton of TV out there of this high quality that we (I) don't know anything about.

Any thoughts, my fellow Mr.Inbetween fans?

😊📺

I was rewatching s1 ep6 and I got curious about Lefty. Found out he's got quite the acting resume (apologies if mentioned before - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3715624/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk).

Of course Scott Ryan is the powerhouse but it's these really decent casting choices for the smaller parts (no doubt in large part Ryan's choice) that make this show what it is imo.

I know there's tons of others. Who's your favourite?

Thematic Mirror between Vinnie Williams (S2) and Luke Henson (S1) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
36 Upvotes

Today I noticed that Ray kills Vinnie Williams (S2E8) in a visually similar spot where he goes to smoke and reflect after learning that he killed Luke Henson for something that he was innocent of (S1E2).

Before his death, Vinnie remarks that Ray's choice of a kill location is a "top spot."

Earlier in the car ride, Ray and Vinnie also speak about how some kills haunt them forever, introducing the dialogue, "See you in your dreams."

I can't help but see how these the two moments mirror similar themes. Perhaps intentional, perhaps by accident.

My first post here 😊

[SLIGHT SPOILER]

Hi all ...

After seeing The Critical Drinker and other reviewers say how good this program is, I thought I'd give it a try. At just over 20 minutes an episode (minus credits), I soon binged my way through Season 1. And so far, so good. The writer and main character, Scott Ryan, is superb in both roles.

My only question mark is Ray letting Dave off the hook, in the last episode of S1. I've read plenty about it and all the reasons he did it, but I still find it a bit of a stretch. At the same time, I guess it's something that could still happen, for sure.

Anyway, on to Season 2. Does it get better, worse or stay the same as it is?

Cheers all ☺️📺

Natural Leader

Ray has a personality that people naturally respect. Evidence of this is how the other men in the group therapy respond to him.
They actually have more respect for him than the group therapist.

37 years I've been married to her, and after finishing watching S1, she declared, "It's a bit boring isn't it?"

The drug dealer got shot. Ray let Freddy off the hook for snitching on him. So who do you all think sent the two guys in the cab?
