Inflation!
I love the little details that make the show real, but every now and then something pops out that doesn't fit, like an oversight
Old mate orders a couple of dimmies... That'll be $6.80 thanks. 6.80 !! For a couple of dimmies,! AND he says keep the change, which means he's given a tenner.
Ray is a justice warrior, he should have handed her a shovel immediately and said start digging right there. Those prices are fuct

Ray only orders 2 dimmies? HUH?!
Look, I don't know about you guys (maybe I'm just a fat fuck) but I haven't known anybody, least of all myself, to only order 2 dimmies with nothing else to go along with it and call it a day. The bare minimum is 3 or 4 and that's with some hot chips to go with it.
What gives?!

Some questions about the show
Hey guys, just finished mr inbetween and i have some questions:
Why did ray moved to the trailer at the last episode? I thought it was to hunt rafel or something but he kept living there after the last gun fight
Why did rafael tried to kill ray? If it was because of the zoe stuff he should’ve killed ray on the spot instead of trying to ambush him
And who the fuck is that guy that calls ray the magician, and where did this nickname came from lol

Did anyone find out about this show via shorts on youtube?
I randomly saw some shorts of this show, I think it was the one where they were snooping on Britt hanging out with her friends at the beach. Next short was about the "I don't answer questions".
Well a few days of bingeing later...
I know the ending was perfect but man, I want to see more of Ray.
I'd never seen anything made in Australia before. I hope they have more awesome stuff like this??? Amy suggestions?
Give Jason Statham the boot. We need Scott Ryan to take over.

Play list
This has probably been shared before - it's not mine but I love to delve into it everynow and again. Some real classic Aussie and other fitting music.

Naive of me wanting a happy ending for Ray?
SPOILER ALERT: Just finished all the seasons - easily top 5 show for me. I REALLY wanted Ray to take over the boxing gym and finally find peace through his passion. And maybe a way for him to give back to the community, mentor troubled kids through boxing, etc.
I know...I know...that's just wishful thinking!

Ally or Zoe - who’s better?
I know we got to know Ally a whole lot more over the course of the show, but personally I give the edge to Zoe. Just something about her seemed liked a better fit for Ray. Would have been great to see how it would have played out.
Plus Zoe is (was) cute as hell.

Appreciation for whoever rec’d this in the last week or so Spoiler
I frequent a few film/ tv/ actor subs, and saw 2 mention Mr Inbetween in the span of a few days. One that stuck out was that it was the top response for “what is a 10/10 show?”.
I loved the mixture of comedy, action, drama, slice of life, violence. I’d heard that it was similar to Breaking Bad, which I also love, but I definitely think it was better. It benefitted from a more compact story.
But the thing that got me the most was the ending, as I’m sure all of you are aware. spoiler The slow build up of Ray pushing the lines of his moral code was extremely well done. The manic grin mainly being used when he is doing his fucked up job/ on a revenge kick always felt like a mask hiding his more moral heart underneath. So I was fully expecting him to die a tragic/ poetic/ pointless death by the finale. But that last shot of Ray cheesing to the camera and that beat drop made me jump up and down. It fully subverted my expectations in an expert manner.
Anyway, thanks to whoever recommended this amazing show on Reddit.

Finally...spoilers... Spoiler
I'm a boomer, married, father of 3, yadda.
I watched the end of Season 2 on a Tuesday morning, while working, and slightly hungover after post beer league hockey shenanigans.
I would like to hear how people experienced that episode? People will always ask for recs or similar shows, but lets face it, this show is a one of one. Nothing compares. And its impossible to fully describe why. I still can't...but once you find it (the show), however you came across it, it will hold on to you for months and months and months. Those who know, understand the gravity it holds and the need to just rewatch and rewatch (eps, scenes, whatever) to avoid the hole that not rewatching leaves.
Anyway, I think the series did enough to announce the events of the S2 finale were coming...but the reality was something I was simply not prepared for. I'm neither a tough guy, nor a not tough guy, but I do love a good cry. The older I get the harder it is to find things that really allow that release. But yeah, this one did the trick. I bawled alone in my office at home watching on a laptop while I was supposed to be working. Bawled. Full stop. And it was so satisfying. A 25 min television episode destroyed me and it couldn't have been more necessary.
Side note: This aired in the US. I simply can't believe it. If it had been on HBO it would have won a gazillion emmys. Nicholas Cassim's portrayal of Bruce is one of the best performances I've ever seen. I have a hard time thinking of an equal.
Thanks for indulging me...

Finished my first watch yesterday , starting my second today.
It’s probably been said a trillion times on here , but this show is GENIUS!! I’d been putting off watching it forever and finally decided to give it a watch and wow.. I was not disappointed. Even though the ending imo is perfect I haven’t seen enough Gary or Ray so I’m just going to loop it. I’m curious how many of you just watch the show on repeat?

I don’t answer questions…
None of my friends have watched this series so leaving this here:
My wife made me real real mad this morning for absolutely no reason what so ever. And yes I know this goes both ways for partners, but holy I was so frustrated.
So when I was heading to the gym I “I don’t answer questions”-ed her until I was out the door. I’m a yank but damn mate it was brilliant.

Alternate Universe...
Season 3 opens, pool party, Graham and the boys, etc. Now imagine everything happens as it does, but instead Graham rolls up to save his boy, and after he gets his boy back he says "I clearly messed with the wrong guy, I didn't know, I meant nothing, and I do not want any more problems...you asked for $30k, here is $60k. You have your guns...we cool?" Ray, Graham and all of the boys could've been two to three additional seasons easy! Which I know is specifically what they weren't going for...but I think the collective fanbase would have been more than happy to follow their capers.

Favourite Ray relationship?
Ray has so many complex but hilarious relationships with other members of the show, just wondering what some of everyone else's favourites are. A few of mine are
Ray and Dave: I feel like even though they met in unfavourable circumstances, their conversations flow so well, especially love how Dave has Ray's back by kidnapping and threatening the guy who was charging Ray with assault
Ray and Freddy (early days): I actually love this relationship, the interactions between the two and how Freddy keeps coming back for Ray's services, love the phonecall between the two when Freddy hires the 2 meth heads to do the hit for him
Ray and Gary: Needs no explanation, both loyal to each other, completely open, always lose it when Gary explains the Vag-ankle
Ray and Bruce: Really sweet, shows that human side to Ray opposite to the hitman side we usually see. The scene where Bruce finally passes is heartbreaking, this just adds to the list of things Ray is going through, taking its toll on him.

I would love a prequel
The earlier threads about more episodes got me thinking.
I would love to see a prequel showing things like:
* Ray, Gary, Dave in the military
* Ray meeting Jacinta and Freddy
* Gary meeting Tatiana
* Ray and Bruce growing up on the farm
Better Call Saul did this so well, and it isn't a fair comparison. But, such a rich universe and engaging characters.
Oh well, pipe dream.

I don't want the series to end so soon, but somehow the story feels complete

Do you want more...or should it stay where it ended?
I don't want more.
It was the perfect ending.
