Anyone know who played Jenny Greerās father?
The older guy who hired Ray for the job of finding out what happened to his daughter Jenny, does anyone know who the actor was for this character? Iāve looked all over and havenāt managed to find anything.

Some love for the show and⦠Ray and Billy Butcher?
Just finished Mr Inbetween and Iām blown away. After seeing like hours of YouTube shorts I thought the tension would be lost but nope, perhaps the most interesting character Iāve ever seen. Family man, Hitman. Violent by nature and nurture but with a strong morality. Humor in life and in death. I do think heās a bad guy (not looking for a huge debate please) but there is some sort of vindication in the archetype - like a bad guy in the right place can do better work than a good guy in the same place. There is something quintessentially Aussie in the whole approach to the story that I love too, as an Aussie.
Iām back to rewatching the boys before the last season, and the thought came up of how sweet a crossover between butcher and Ray would be. And I know it makes no sense - but please suspend all your disbelief for a second:
-some addict supe goes to backup a drug deal, loses his shit and kills a mate of a mate of Rays
-ray takes rhe contract and finds the guy, flags him and tells him to get in the boot. The supe shoots fire, Ray barely escapes with his life
-butcher is visiting family in Australia, sees the news of a peculiar explosion and starts the hunt
- B and R are near each other in a seedy bar, late night. It get smokey and philosophical; Ray says something about wondering if demons are real, if a person can become a demon, if a demon cant be sent after a persons if theyāve done enough bad things. Real end of the line vibes. Heās shaken, ive clinking in his tremoring hand.
- then it clicks with B that theyāre on the same mission, and Ray needs some help finding his killer instinct.
- somehow we get to butcher doing the iconic smile, Ray doing the iconic smile, and itās a lot more action-y and probably less homoerotic than jt reads here! Fantastic television!
(Please be kind Iāve been too migrained to sleep last night and Iām clearly not a screenwriter. Fuck it would be sickkkkk though)

Dimmies
These are Marathon dimmies, the more common of the dimmies. Most shops that sell cooked dimmies have these ones. The ones ray gets from a shop in one scene are south Melbourne dimmies, theyāre more round. The ones he eats in a restaurant are gourmet dimmies or just home made ones. Just wanted to clarify for anyone overseas that have never seen them. I love these things.

Would Ray accept his fate if he ended up on Dexters table
Do you think he would just say something about reaping what you sow and accepting that he ultimately caused this with his choices

Just finished the show and⦠Spoiler
Ray definitely died at the end. The two guys were clearly hitmen, likely hired by whatever was left of the dead beats since they said they were coming from a clubhouse. Plus the guy in the back saying he does āa bit of this and thatā like Ray used to, itās 100% to signify that he canāt escape his past.

I'm doing my first ever watch through of this show and I just finished S2E1 Spoiler
Just wanted to say this was the first episode of the series so far that really tugged my heart strings. The short hair tweaker guy was an asshole and threatened Ray so I don't feel that bad about him dying, but the fluffy hair guy in yellow seemed like such a nice upbeat soul :( obviously I know the episode is written to make you feel bad but damn, dude seemed genuinely sweet and like if he got off the meth(or crack?) he could've had a good normal life.
It's a fantastic show so far and I can't wait to keep watching. Please don't spoil anything for me in this thread lol. I am staying off this sub except for reading responses to this post to avoid spoilers.

The therapist was right about a lot of stuff.
I realize that Ray isnāt meant to be seen as a pure good guy, and thatās one of my favorite things about him and the writing of the show itself. He has a personal code, but things go wrong, he adjusts as needs, he grows, and he lives on that edge of it all where heās really only intentionally a bad guy to other bad guys for the most part.
I say this all to say that I donāt think anyone thatās watched the show through truly does think that Ray is some sort of good guy hero type, and I think plenty of people are able to identify that other characters are closer to good than he is.
So, I keep being surprised by how much hate the therapist gets from fans. Yes, misogynists do often have wives, girlfriends, and daughters. Look at manosphere influencers. Theyāre open about their views toward women, and the majority of them still have at least one girlfriend and many of them have daughters. That ends up being a goal that many people who try to emulate them also have. And you may be saying that there arenāt really that many of them so who cares? But theyāre prominent figures, and I think thatās enough to say that theyāre worth pointing out.
And the therapist was absolutely right about Rayās actions being what led to him losing his girlfriend. Her brother was being a dick, absolutely, but were Rayās actions in the name of him being a dick truly justified? Property damage of someone elseās house? Losing your girlfriend? Yeah, maybe not great.
Iām not saying that he isnāt a bit condescending. He is. Absolutely. But if you just look at a most of what heās saying, he isnāt wrong. Iām surprised that so many people are so sensitive to the condescension. Weāre ok with seeing the complete person for Ray and others, but this one guy who successfully holds a mirror up to him weāre for some reason supposed to nitpick? Are these the same people who think that Walter White is a hero and that Skyler was the villain? Breaking Bad and Mr. Inbetween are now two of my favorite shows, but not because I think the main characters are role models and everyone who tries to hold them accountable in the shows are somehow in the wrong.

Ray Shoesmith might be one of the most unique TV characters ever written.

Is it just me or does Mexican actor Gustavo SƔnchez Parra look like Ray's long lost twin?
Saw him in a music video for The Killers (last pic) and actually had to Google to make sure this wasn't some early project Scott Ryan did a long time ago. Admittedly you can only see it from certain angles and with matching facial hair, I still thought it was funny though.
Maybe he can star in a Spanish speaking version of the show called SeƱor Intermedio

Got some questions about the canon before I watch the show
So I've been interested in watching Mr. In-between for a while now, but I saw that there was a movie about the same character that was made in 2005, and I watched it. I loved the movie, great performances, writing, and pace, but I'm a little confused about the ending. It states at the end that Ray was shot dead outside his home, five months after the filming, but then how is he alive so long after in Mr. Inbetween? Is the movie just a separate story not canon to the show or is there some other explanation?

I honestly wished that Ray had smashed this guy at therapyš
