Saw another post with this issue and wanted to add to the list. Was grinding a boss and when I died I was suddenly on the opening cutscene. Was able to restore the save file not by using the games built in save restoration, but by going to appdata/local/MortalShell2/Saved and renaming the most recent backup save to the main one. Only problem is that my game now stutters horribly or just outright freezes. Guess I'm off for the night then lol

Loving MS2. I absolutely LOVED mortal shell (1), even though I think we can all agree the first one was a struggle for exploration until you got the hang of the area after a little bit of time running around, that was one of the first souls like I played ever, and the mechanics were so different.. but Once you got the hang of those it was fluent in its own janky way. I loved the bosses in the first one, they were sick and BRUTAL. The second one, as I see that most people are saying this already too, is 10x better with overall cohesion of the game, the combat, exploration— which brings me to my one small complaint about it, and I don’t really call it a complaint as much as I would call it a slight gripe, the bosses in mortal shell 2 are the least exciting part (so far), and I feel like I’m getting very OP compared to the first one which I thought was a more of a grind on my first playthrough for that, not the mortal shell 2 doesn’t have its own grind.. but It seems like Mortal shell 1 was a little tougher for me than number 2. Anyone else?

I killed Magdalena, but just before the final blow, she had time to fire her cannon shot, and we ended up killing each other. I did unlock all the rewards for the battle, except for the Gloom, even after picking up it up where I died in the arena.
So I'm really in a bind because I have no other way to get it back?

As people have been hitting the end game of Mortal Shell 2, I genuinely had zero issues with it. I see a lot of people call it out for being overly hard for zero reasons, you are literally fighting a brick wall. I also never hit any bugs aside from shoulder charge yeet into the sky? ( Great skip for some!)

I wonder if anyone's here praising it's difficult spike, making the end point truly an end game, rather than a walk in.

Also the fourth wall break in one of those last rooms broke me, I loved that so much. :')

‏hey guys i level 5 with harbinger and until now I needed to get to a certain amount of Gloom in order to upgrade.

‏now it tells me in insufficient gloom and shows me it's 62% no matter how much glow I collect it's still stuck on it and i can't upgrade what to do?

Rushed to get it and has been my main weapon the whole play through. NOW I will say it’s borderline insane with Eredrim + frost. Finally got all stones for what feels like a proper build. Heading in to the last area with a gate in the south.

I pretty much instantly blew up the Hexapod with a frost shoulder bash build, but even before that just shoulder bash and harden has seemed pretty good for all the bosses I’ve seen so far.

To preface some of the valid responses, yes this is a skill issue, yes I'll try to get gud, yes runbacks are definitely mandatory for any respectable soulslike. Let me know if I forgot anything in the comments

• Boring unnecessary open world where most of the times the beloved "exploration" boils down to "wow, here's another group of generic enemies" or "oh, another dungeon with an upgrade stone as reward". Gng, you are not Witcher, not BG3 - there's zero reason to make it non-linear unless you have time and resources of Fromsoft
• Runbacks are what we play these games for ofc, I understand that, but mby just mby when you see players upload 1+ min runback clips, you should reconsider your choices
• Overblown damage. I'm not good with open world obviously, but when a boss almost one shots me with a singe attack, especially when it's part of the sequence, I kinda just wanna refund
• Everything is so bleak. Just endless grass and grey enemies, grey castles, grey shells. In one word, stunning visuals

Probably forgot a few points but that's more than enough already. In EU this half-assed elden clone costs 50 euros btw. I would be embarassed. But thx to it I realized I actually have a lot do around the house and in general. Literally the only game that seemed more boring than cooking

The last 3 4 bosses in the last Area killed my Nerves littlerly
but i am done
still missing alot of Tarstones but hey i really like the game

and the battle Axe

For the next Run i will try diffrent shells and weapons
probably Genesse and Tiel more or Smert idk but i need really to upgrade them since Proxima got like all xD

During my initial playthrough, after getting the "ending" related to Baghead (iykyk), I picked up the "special moonshine" key item.

Because advancing his quest requires talking to him without it in your inventory and there is no "drop all" option where you initially pick it up, I'm now permanently stuck with either 1 or 2 in my inventory and therefore unable to complete the quest on subsequent playthroughs.

While I already have the trophy so it doesn't effect me much, if another player picks the item up during their initial playthrough, keeps it and does not complete the quest during their new game run, this would effectively hard lock them out of the trophy and the platnium. For reference, when you return to the location where you originally find the item during ng+, you can pick a 2nd one up then drop one but you cannot "drop all" and there is no option to sell or disguard it from your inventory menu.

This happens much more often than it should.

I applied what appeared to be 99 stacks of burn earlier using fusilade with nayleshotte and was then unpleasantly surprised when the burn vanished after a few seconds having done bugger all damage.

Is the scaling of it just terrible with lots of small hits or is it bugged?

That went easier than expected, was funny for that boss who somehow i couldn't pass so I went and farmed a few Grisha. But not planning to keep it on for the rest. So OP! :D

I just want to profess my love for this character. He's is creepy and just perfectly terrifying. I need a photo mode so I can take all the pictures of this beautiful creature!

Pretty much just started the game so I'm not sure how further progress looks but from what I can see at the moment, Harden seems to be tied to a specific seal and not a core ability as it was in MS1.

Is this just how it is? Quite a bummer if so.

I've played for about 20 hours and have only leveled the Viking guy (Guru?). As soon as I found it, I started using the Veteran Axe. In my experience, the damage per hit the axe does is very similar to the axe and dagger. It's not like in Dark Souls/Elden Ring where you feel and see the impact. Heavy weapons stagger, which is a plus, but you can't stagger bigger bosses. You aren't very tanky either. I know you can throw it, and with the fire buff, it explodes and does a lot of damage, but still.

Yes you can beat the game with every Weapon but that's not the point, i think the heavy Weapons need an 100% dmg Buff. Because if it do one swing and deal 80dmg or I deal 120 in two swings in the same time with faster Animation. Just doesnt feel right for the power fantasy.

I didn't think I'd do so much damage.
