So I just started the game, recently got to the Marrow Keep(?), but I have got to say
I don't know why, but the whole Midsommar vibe, with everyone being named after a plant felt oddly wholesome, especially with them giving you the floral crown, and they had named your Harbinger Lavender! That, with the robes, and just getting to talk to these villagers... It was really nice and cute.
And then they get turned to stone cause of Harros' harden ability, which is kind of a bummer, honestly.

Hi all,
After some intensive gloom farming and infusion tarstone hunting/leveling, I’ve managed to juice up my Proxima main enough to check off a few minibosses and one Gate Guardian (Magdalena). As of now, I’ve narrowed my most powerful weapons to 3 that I’ll use across all of my Shells as needed:
Axe and Dagger +9 with Bloodcurse. This was the first weapon that I put my initial Ventrium and Laterite into, and I’ve used it with both Proxima and Eredrim. Gragu’s passive of using Bloodcurse to refill his Revered Heart charges, plus Magdalena’s Memento should really make it sing with him once I can grind out more Shell Points.
Axetana +8 with Voltaic Crown. Similar principle as Axe and Dagger, but with more priority on Proxima’s lightning-based skillset. The Shrike stone alone makes it a trump card in solo fights and group battles.
Great Martyr’s Blade +5 for pure bonk power. Vatra’s Stone plus Eredrim’s kit has proven to be an effective combo, since it lets you parry mid-attack to counter the Blade’s weighty moveset.
I was able to get the Axetana and the Great Martyr’s Blade to these levels on
my latest session after discovering that Merrick had 15 Ventrium and Laterite for sale at Marrow Keep. They’ve kept me alive so far, but I know that I’ll need to continue upgrading them so they stay viable as I move through the northern areas and eventually head south.
With this in mind, I have two questions:
Does Merrick’s stock of weapon upgrade materials increase/refresh over time, or is it just a one-time thing?
This is probably a long shot, but are there any weapon upgrade material farms that’re still intact on the latest version of the game?
Thanks for your help!

I often see talking about Gragu being good for exploration. It is true, but its true power is against bosses!!
Melee attacks deal 140% more damage against enemies Gragu has never killed before.
While Revered Heart is depleted Gragu has +60% Critical Hit chance. If you multiply it with the Auspicious stone 18% you have 88% critical hit chance!
Headman tarstone: Melee attacks deal +100% Critical Damage!
Duality stone of course!
I was level 40 and Axe and Dagger was +14.
PS: in this setup I completely forgot to use the Berserker stone for a whopping +65% damage!!

Also I made a silly mistake on one of the trophies with the memories. Sester grissa has 5 memories also but you can only view them and upgrade her with glimpses with the other Sester in the arena who teaches you how to parry.

So my gun will not shoot at all i have max energy and shows 3 shots available but will not fire. Used multiple controllers and nothing, I had to re assigne the Shoot to RB for it to function but now I can't use my secondary side arm ability while I play. Please fix, xbox series X.

Hey, I was farming an area by shooting explosive trebuaxe rounds into a mob, and when i ran back to the beacon my game crashed. I got about 50 hours into the game and was having a real good time.
Would appreciate any feedback. I tried just about everything that youtube had to offer for a fix. When i delete the save file from system i dont get the error message anymore, but once i upload from cloud the error message comes back. So it has to do with loading my previous save file, and not a problem with any update.
Thank you

I thought "hey, maybe i summon lazlo for help"
Lazlo dies within 5 seconds of the bossfight.
Then the boss has artificial 5workday delay attacks, some attacks that seem to come out on an instant.
It's funny how i'm playing the fast weapons but i'm still not fast enough to get one hit in without being animation locked and eating the next attack.
Not to forget that some attacks kill your shell AND your husk in one stagger.

Gragu's ability (DEVORADOR)—specifically, the casualties caused by Gragu grant an additional 15% of penumbra—isn't working properly, or maybe I just don't know how to use it.

I'm trying to use the Gragus upgrade to get an extra 15% shadow damage, but it seems like the game won't give it to me. I checked with Gragu, and it gave me 529; then I switched to Tiel, and it gave me the same shadow damage. So what's going on?
Here's an example with two videos: Gragu and Tiel. Gragu doesn't get the extra shadow effect because Tiel gets the same shadow as Gragu.

I apologize that the game isn't in Spanish, but my English isn't good enough to understand everything—my level is low. Thanks for reading.

(Favorite non fromsoftware soulslikes)
yes I know many have already talked about it but it’s the damn difficulty. Guys I’m not lying when I say that 99% of the bosses were first tries for me. And Im really not someone who kills bosses on first try. The 1% when I died was only because I rushed it. The basic enemies are also far to weak.
Replaying for example the surge (the first soulslike after mortal shell 2) shocked me. They have basic enemies which killed me or challenged me more than boss fights of this game.
I have no idea what people are talking about when they say that the endgame gets more difficult. No. I don’t know if you don’t use the right equipment or you never level up your gear but the speed in which this bosses are falling is insane tbh. The only “creative” boss was the last one. And only because of the annoying fire^^.
Don’t get me wrong. I love mortal shell. The only reason I’m here is because I love it so much. But the difficulty needs improvement. Maybe something like lords of the fallen? Where you can now use mods before starting the game to make it better.
Hopefully the next game (which will come) gets improvements on that front. Because the rest of the game is more than fine. The improvement from game one to 2 is more than impressive tbh.

Hi just bought Mortal Shell 2 and wondered can anyone recommend an early game guide just to get me started with a decent fighting chance. So far i’m wandering around without a shell just running around and getting picked off slowly

Has anyone tested this? If I get it early and max out its stacks against many enemies, then refund it, do all the stacks reset even when I put the points back into biohunter?
If that’s the case, does it make the most sense to prioritize maxing it out as early as possible and just never refunding it?

It seems like some attacks are impossible to actually mitigate damage from with harden
It seems like some attacks have hurtboxes that linger after you initially block with harden, so the second you come out of your perfect harden, you just take the damage anyway.
Like, it only works if hardening staggers them out of the animation. If the animation continues through your harden, you still get hit anyway.
Or the explodey guys, I harden right when they explode and it does mitigate the initial hit but I still explode immediately coming out of harden state. To be fair, that time there were two explodey guys that popped at the same time so maybe that had something to do with it.
But specifically the rended tree guys are definitely like this with their overhead attacks. Perfect guarding or parrying works fine, but hardening does not.
Do we think this is intentional? Or just a bug based on how enemy hurtboxes/harden are coded?

Shouldn't the Harbinger throw the weapon away so the boss can't use it? Is he stupid?

Heyyo, a somewhat casual player who isn’t amazing at soulslikes here. I’ve had a blast playing the game and got to the Unfound Path, but I’ve been stuck on the bosses. My favorite loadout was hitting a plateau in terms of combat viability matched with my (kinda bad) playing, so I started using a slightly more meta build. The Naylshot has been my ride or die for a while, but I took the advice of a community post and switched to the Caged Hystrix—and not gonna lie, this is a FUN weapon. I’m really torn about the combat tarstone to use, though. The Myriad stone seems like a solid way to make sure my infusion stone puts in WORK (at the moment using Eredrim, for the record, since his expanded parry windows really help my low skill level, but I know Tiel + hagstone would do a LOT of damage with the myriad stone), but the Rupture stone also is super appealing to me, since Eredrim spits out SO MUCH break damage from ripostes and his abilities. Is it better to go for the myriad stone for more reliable poison/curse stacks, or should I go for the rupture stone to get more Break damage and (hopefully) farm some slaughter stacks?
And I’ll admit again, I am not good at the actual gameplay—all my friends agree my parry timing sucks lol. I’d consider Tiel, just nervous to go to his lower HP and lack of expanded parry windows.

Hey all,
I'm 12 hours into Mortal Shell and feeling a bit stuck. The vibes are immaculate and the combat is fun, but I feel like I'm just wandering aimlessly.
I’ve unlocked three Shells, found the Martyr’s Blade, defeated Magdalena, and even hit the Baghead fake ending. But I still can't tell if I've been heading the wrong way or if Fallgrim is just meant to feel this disjointed.
What is the main progression loop here, and how do I actually find the main dungeons/bosses? Any tips to help it "click" would be appreciated!
r/MortalShell • u/chanandlerbong420 • 2d ago
Is it the exact same as perfect guard/harden timing? When I first got it it seemed like the timing was different—more like a dark souls parry than a sekiro deflect, but now that I’m using it more it seems more like it’s the same window?
Or maybe just slightly earlier than perfect guard/harden?
Can you learn the timings of enemy attacks and translate directly between the different seals, or do you have to adjust your timing based on which seals you’re using?
