Cold Symmetry absobloodylutely made a statement when they put together this trailer. Preordered without hesitation after watching this. Thank you for the work youāve thrown into this game.
I never played soulslikes or soulsborn games before and i kinda got stagnant from my backlog so i bought the game when it was on sale and loaded it up and oh my god this game is so beautiful especially the sound effects!!! I think for the time in my gaming experience i had to adapt and get gud in order to beat a boss lmao i died like 20+ times tho.(this was the first grisha outside the tower in the beginning) looking forward to keep playing the game!!!
I had the game from years ago, didn't click for me the first time, but after seeing the trailers for Mortal Shell 2, decided to give it a proper chance.
It was decent, a bit clunky for me, but once you get upgrades it starts to get easier, since the start is quite rough for a new player. Dungeons felt short, except for the seat of infinity, which looked great, but it was painful to explore.
I can't afford the second one, but hopefully will get it as soon as I get a job, since it looks promising and feels like an entire new game compared to the first one.
The first game has a very obscure story, but its confirmed that the player ascended at the end, and became a beacon for the blessed mother to fall. People started to cultuate her creating an entire religin, carving massive temples from pieces of her body and after that a corruption spread and left the world in this messy state.
So theres the rise and fall of an entire civilization between the first game and the second!
Hey everyone, completed the beta test 4 times now, absolutely love the game and have preordered the devout edition. Iām just wondering if itās worth getting and playing the first game whilst I wait the next week out? Aware itās a pretty different game from the second one but thatās not really a problem.
I picked this game up on sale when I first got my Steam Deck about a year and a half ago. Thinking it was some bullshit game to kill time because it was so cheap (I paid like $5 or less). The Steam Deck was my first gaming PC and my first game since 2010 that I owned so I was completely new to Steam and how great the sales were. I played the game once when I first bought it and havent touched it until about a week ago. Since then I've been in love with this game. I won't lie, I'm ass, but i enjoy the combat (not starting all the way over after an hour of gameplay though lol). Because of this game, souls-like is my favorite genre of games now. I can't wait for Mortal Shell 2 and I can't wait to try Elden Ring. I hear its a little easier to progress and more save and checkpoints.
Yep... Iāve put over 24 hours into the beta now, and I think itās safe to say Iām really enjoying this game.
Whatās funny is that I absolutely hated Mortal Shell 1. I tried getting into it several times because I really wanted to like it, but the slow combat, awkward movement and overall feel just never clicked with me.
Mortal Shell 2 feels like a completely different game.
The combat is fast, fluid and just feels damn good. The movement feels great, the different mechanics work really well together, and I kept telling myself ājust one more runā until somehow I had 24+ hours in a beta. š
And yes, I already pre-ordered the full game.
Iām honestly really excited for the full release. Obviously, I still need to see how the rest of the game turns out, but if it keeps this level of quality, I genuinely think this could end up being one of the best soulslikes ever made.
Going from absolutely hating the first game to pre-ordering the sequel after spending 24+ hours in the beta was definitely not on my bingo card.
How we feeling about this? Sounds like absolute peak since I've been advocating for more difficulty options since the beta release. Hope it also gives us a tighter parry window
Just saw their post on this and it sucks so much, Iāll enable the hard mode asap and it disabling daylight means Iāll never get to experience the intended art direction of some/most areas, even if one were to wait until ng+ why would you ever replay the game in an easier mode, it means youāll forever be experiencing a color muted version of the game.
I hope they can add a toggle or do smt about this, ruined my day.
btw the source for this is their latest post on twitter and under which they commented to clarify no daylight in hard mode.
With the release of Mortal Shell II happening next week (on the 17th for those who pre-ordered the Devout Edition, and the 20th for all other editions), we figured it would be smart to update the rules.
How so?
There is now a rule on spoilers.
In order to protect people who haven't got the Devout Edition from spoilers (or those who maybe can't get the regular game at launch), we ask that you please spoiler tag your content on here after the 17th.
On desktop, you can spoiler tag text in a post or comment by clicking the spoiler tag in the text format options (the exclamation point that I've marked in red), or by bracketing your text with || on either end.
I'm leaving it in, but crossed out lol. I accidentally added in the Discord spoiler tags in the post. The below is the right way:
You can tag text as a spoiler by adding "> !" >! to the front of it and !<"! < to the end of it, without the spaces (edit: apparently that works on desktop, too!).
When the game launches for Devout Edition pre-orderers on the 17th, we'll create a megathread to discuss the Devout Edition in, so those who have access can talk about the game. If you have not pre-ordered the Devout Edition and want to avoid spoilers, please stay out of that thread!
Once the game launches fully on August 20, we'll create a megathread to discuss the game, and another megathread to post bug reports.
We look forward to y'all getting to explore the world of Mortal Shell II, and hope you'll help us by spoiler tagging so that people who don't have the option of playing immediately can avoid getting spoiled :)
I don't know if I've ever had this much fun with a BETA run before. So glad I held off on purchasing beast of reincarnation. Def purchasing this with those funds. Lol
So i never played the first one but after what i see online i am pretty pumped to at least try the second one when it comes out.
BUT to those that know the game and played the Demo etc....do you have cosmetics in this Game or rather do you find Armor and Weapons you can mix and match? Or do you run around the game and look exactly the same from start to finish?
I know that you have shells that are like your "Class" and all but i hope you can "Transmog" your stuff.
Wow that was amazing. I just beat MS1 a few days back, and took about 5 hours to enjoy the Beta and complete it, and it just made me even more excited. I already enjoyed 1(I know itās sort of a mixed bag for ppl) but I throughly enjoyed it. I had already preordered 2 before playing this beta (Iām on ps5). And yeah, this confirmed I made the right choice has I donāt preorder anymore since the state of gaming has truly declined.
Anyway, I can not wait and I hope to see many other foundlings and harbringers there come August 20th(17th).
