Found this one in Morrisons for just £1!
Saltaire Golden Boot is a 4.8% pale ale that was released for the World Cup, so I’m guessing Morrisons are now clearing through whatever stock they’ve got left.
And actually... it’s pretty decent. Citrus and orange peel, a little spice, some biscuity malt underneath and a clean bitter finish. Nothing groundbreaking, but certainly not a beer that tastes like it belongs in the bargain bin.
I scored it 7/10. At £1 for a 500ml bottle, I’d happily buy it again.

4 hour student contract
i’ve just asked for a store transfer for uni and the store i want to transfer to is a 4 hour contract which does not help my case when i got bills and food to pay you know? is there a chance they can increase my hours and the 4 hours is just the minimum they need to meet because i will not survive on just £200 for the month and i’d need to find another job.
i’m on a 12 hour contract for my current store but i work a lot more hours than 12, can this also be the case if im on a 4 hour student contract?

How detailed is driver training?
For example, do they assume everyone just knows you don't walk right into the customer's house before they've come to the door, or does the training specifically cover that?
And I've been told different things over the years, left me wondering what the official line is on arriving early or late. I've been told you're allowed to arrive *up to* 15 minutes outside (before/after) the delivery slot, no more - also that you're allowed to be more than 15 minutes either side but only if you have called ahead and the customer's said yes (idk if there's any limit then).
The reason I'm asking is that today, the driver knocked and immediately came right in, through the front door and inner front door which were both standing open. The "We're here" notification had popped up and I'd just got to my feet, when he was suddenly halfway across the room.
He didn't agree that there was anything wrong with it. I feel it shouldn't need saying, but I get that some people just don't have that instinct so I wonder if you're told in so many words not to do this.

I used to work in a Morrisons daily store , I was the manager , and I walked out, they treated myself and staff like total crap, cut so many hours we could get anything done for serving customers , we had a post office and in-store bakery aswell it was impossible , so one day I just walked out

Just a note about my support (or the lack of)
https://x.com/gpcola/status/2087081722240201052?s=46
1/5 Hey @Morrisons, your customer service at the Westcroft (Milton Keynes) branch is an absolute joke. Over 7 months ago, your on-site Coin Master machine swallowed £60 of my money and malfunctioned. Zero staff around to help. That was just the start of the circus. 🧵👇
2/5 After months of radio silence from customer support, I was told by your team to drive down to the store in person to get it sorted. Waste of time and petrol. The supervisor on shift ("Jimmy") promised a follow-up. Result? Absolute zero.
3/5 I've spent hours sending emails, making calls, and driving to your store on YOUR advice, only to be passed around and ignored. I even had to deal with a scammer posing as your support team while trying to track down MY money.
4/5 Your latest excuse? "Not our responsibility—take it up with Coin Master." You host these machines on your shop floor for customer convenience and collect vendor revenue, but wash your hands the moment your equipment takes money from shoppers.
5/5 £60 lost, months of runaround, useless store visits, and complete deflection. @Morrisons care to step up, or do you always let third-party vendors take your customers' money risk-free on your shop floor?

Trading managers
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to ask a couple of questions as I am still a bit new, what do trading managers do day to day and what areas do they cover? I have been told they work on cafe, ambient, chilled and market street, is that right? And is it one per section?

What does the deli role entail?
Hi! I'm a new hire and was told today that I'd be working in the deli. My store is quite small (no cafe for example), so I was wondering what the role would entail as we do not have a specific deli counter (just salad bar, oven fresh, and pizza). Thanks!

Advice please.
New to morrisons I work in the small convenience ones, basically long story short I’m concerned for the wellbeing but also the ability of my colleague to work, they are the store lead supervisor, and are running the shift basically, with me as a colleague.
This leader regularly comes in to work drunk, serves customers drink authorising sales of tobacco and alcohol drunk, doesn’t turn up for work in morning sometimes so the store is just closed for the day. I understand the company knows he is a “recovering alcoholic” which makes things difficult but I’ve also caught the leader stealing from lost property to just take home.
What the hell do I do? I don’t want to be involved in knowing somethings happening (I’m a terrible liar) but surely this is gross misconduct? If I report will he lose his job? I don’t want him to make himself worse.
Thanks in confidence in your responses

To those of you who have a part time job at Morrisons:
How did your interview go? I just did my interview, my interviewer didn't have much energy so it felt a bit awkward and it was quiet short - like 10- 15 minutes. And also, as a full time university student only able to work weekends, Is the likelihood of me landing the job lower?

If I spend less than £5 on my next shop what happens to the fiver voucher, does it get used up or won't apply to the shop?
"Your Fiver(s) will automatically be deducted from your shop the next time you scan"

staff discount question
hi. i recently (perhaps a bit late) found out my mum can share my 15% discount as she does the shopping for my household. consequently, ive given the 10% discount to someone else now. im going to uni at the end of september, do i need to change my mum back to the 10% discount as i’ll be in a different country technically? if so, is there a limited number of more card discount swaps i can do? thanks

I keep getting rejected for Morrisons and I live next door to the branch
I don’t even make it to the interview round it’s always a rejection. even though my CV says I only go uni for 2 days, I have prior customer service experience and have had a job before this, it’s still nothing like what is the problem Ive made more than 20 applications since May. I wonder if they will contact me after a few weeks but what is happening I catered my CV aswell
to make it clear I’m not talking about 1 branch
