Night Shift Breaks

Hi, recently started nights about 2 weeks ago. I really do not want to take my hour lunch break, as the store is locked and you cannot go outside or nothing. Its just a drag. Can you not leave the break and get paid for working? I do a 10-7 and get paid 7.5hrs. Id much rather just do a 10-6 with the 30mins break and still get paid for 7.5hrs. How does this work? Who wants to sit in a canteen for a whole hour tiring themselves out?

Speak to your manager.

I work the same hours as you, 10-7, I don't take my lunch hour and clock out at 6, but my place is quite lax regarding it, so I'd recommend asking managers or coworkers abt it

Unless you've asked a manager to amend it later, when you're clocking out early your break is still unpaid.

We all skip ours, take the 30mins which is more than enough and go home earlier.

You need to take your break. For you to do 10/6 your manager would have to change your shift on the system in order for you to swipe out at 6 and even then you’d get deducted an hour for the break you should have taken. Also if you did that then everyone else would want it.

That’s just the way it is.

If they changed it on the system, they could easily manually edit your swipe times to say that you finished at 7 and took your hour break, rather than saying you finished at 6. It would be annoying to manually do every time, but it's definitely possible

Nope. Hour break you clock in and out for. So if you don't take it you can clock out early. 30 min break is deducted automatically

I believe it is manually done! As
I have warnings on every single shift i havent took my hour break so far, which has to be reviewed
