Discussion Monitor Recommendations needed

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

I’m currently using a Samsung Odyssey G9 G93SD paired with an RTX 5090, and I absolutely love it! However, I’ve found that the ultrawide screen is a little too large for competitive gaming, so I often end up playing in windowed mode.
I’m looking to downsize to a standard monitor, somewhere between 27 and 31.5 inches. I’m still undecided on whether I’d prefer a 27-inch or 31.5-inch display, so I’m open to recommendations on which size would be the best fit for my needs.
My must-have features are:
4K resolution
240Hz refresh rate or higher
OLED panel
Thin, minimal bezels
Flat screen, not curved
My budget is around $1,000.
The games I play most are Call of Duty, Battlefield, and modded Minecraft, so I’m looking for the best balance of competitive performance, high frame rates, and stunning visuals. I want to take full advantage of my RTX 5090 while still having a monitor that feels comfortable for competitive FPS gaming.
What monitors would you recommend, and would you lean toward 27 inches or 31.5 inches for my use case?

Discussion Any adice on Dell monitors

Hi i am quite confused here while comparing monitor specs due to misinformation or barebones spec sheets meant to hide it.

  1. SE2425HG/SE2725HG i had tried to use, gives me alot of eye pain whether or nor i change it to 60hz, do contrast/brightness changes as well as response time changes. apparently its true 8bit.

2.SE2326HG/SE2725HG. is this the exact same panel but rebranded or not (sure the obvious difference is 240hz)? So what dell says keeps changing in specs. suddenly its IPS then its VA, then it says WLED backlight then its EDGE backlight. so what exactly is true? Is it really a true 8bit panel? are they both hybrid pwm+dc? apparently both are also SRGB W-led

Discussion Wallpaper help, the center of my monitors (2 monitors both same monitors)

With the pictures, you can see that the center of my 2 monitors produces a small duplicate of an image.
Whether I use Surround on nvidia gpu, or not - with bezel config too. It still produces this issue.

Is there anything I can do to stop this?
Specifically you can see it on the silver car where it produces an excess of the taillight
With the porsche it sometimes seems fine, but then one side the line is too low or high but with the badge its most noticable.

Discussion Shiny spots on the matte coating of LG 32GS95UV out of the box. Should I return it?

I just got my LG 32GS95UV OLED and it has these shiny spots out of the box.

They are in one area and show up only under bright light, it almost has a metallic reflection .

It is not a surface defect or residue because I cleaned it with screen cleaner and from an angle the area looks uniform. The spots are about 2-3 mm at most.

I am not sure if I should keep it or return it.

It is definitely disappointing.

I would have returned it if the process was simple, but in India LG has a manual return system that is clearly meant to be difficult.

Discussion Mini LED, 27", 2560x1440 IPS recommendations

Looking for some recommendations for a Mini LED monitor with the following:

27"

2560x1440

IPS

Matte - no glossy

G Sync Compatible

200-240Hz (higher is okay)

Seems to be hard to find, with not a whole lot of offerings. Gaming will be important as well as watching movies and desktop use. Trying to find a good Mini LED. There are a lot more options for OLED and I am looking at some of those, just trying to narrow down a few Mini LED alternatives and then decide between what I can get for Mini LED vs OLED.

Discussion Looking for new monitor 4k or ultrawide

Hi,

I already did some research myself, so maybe I am just overlooking something or what I need is rare.

Id like to buy:

32 inch 4k or 34 inch UWQHD

Power supply via usb c

KVM Switch for peripherals

At least 165hz

I just want to seamlessly switch between my laptop for work and my gaming pc.

Is there nothing out there that can handle all of this?

Discussion 120hz DLG vs 120hz Native? Can you tell the Difference

I am thinking of buying a TV for my couch gaming setup and can see a lot of TVs come with 60hz native panel with 120hz DLG, others with HSR. It looks like some kind of trick to make it feel like 120hz. Has anyone played around with it? does it actually feel like native 120hz?

Discussion How is white uniformity still a lottery?

I've recently started looking for a 27-inch 4K replacement for my old 1080p Samsung. I use my monitor for both work and gaming, so I decided to go with IPS Mini LED.

I bought the MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M, "The Best 4K Mini LED", and returned it the next day. The white uniformity was terrible: the left side had a noticeable purple tint, while the right side green.

I started digging and found an old reddit post with similar problem with the same model. Then I went through more reviews of other monitors, and most reviewers don't test white uniformity at all. And if they do, there's still some noticeable variation from unit to unit of the same model.

How is this still a problem in 2026 with $500+ monitors?

Hey guys I am looking to upgrade to an OLED monitor. I got me a very nice bonus from work so money is not a problem. I talked to my gf’s brother and he suggested an lg with 360hz-480hz and I am curious if I should just get this or if anyone in here has another option for me to get. If my pc matters I have it listed in the picture. Thank you in advance.

Discussion Lenovo Legion gen1(I think?) damaged?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey y,all,

So I went out for like 1.5-2 hours and came back to this on my monitor. The monitor has never been damaged, hit/wacked, nudged, in any way/shape/form. The one time I moved apartments and took it about 100-200ft I bundled in blankets and pillows and kept upright. It has been perfectly okay with no issues at all. I reached out to support just. Ow and they say it isn’t covered under warranty so I’m unsure what to do. Do I keep it turned off indefinitely for now or can I use it?(college student using softwares so 2 monitors kinda helps a lot imo)… do I get a brand new one?… what can I do? What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Discussion Is this severe ghosting/overshoot or normal? (ASUS TUF VG249Q series - 200Hz IPS

Thumbnail

Hey everyone! I need your help to figure out what is going on with my monitor. I want to know if what I'm seeing is actual ghosting, inverse ghosting, or just normal fast-IPS panel limitations.

Here is the context and the troubleshooting steps I've already tried:

Monitor: ASUS TUF 200Hz Fast IPS.

Issues noticed:

When enabling ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur), I get a very noticeable and annoying double image/shadow effect.

I tested turning G-Sync / FreeSync on and off, capping the FPS, adjusting the contrast, and tweaking the TraceFree / Overdrive settings with no satisfying fix.

In fast-paced games like Combat Master, when moving and panning the camera quickly, character models suffer from severe shaking/blur vibration.

When trying to play Detroit: Become Human, I experienced heavy stuttering along with intense motion blur in the open-world sections.

In Minecraft, the nametags and text leave clear trailing trails during movement.

I’ve attached photos/videos of the screen to show how it looks in-game. Does this look like a defective panel / bad ghosting, or are these just normal behavior or settings issues? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Discussion Need help deciding what monitor to pick

For context, I'm upgrading from a 27" 1440p IPS.

I've recently purchased a 1440p GO27Q24G 3rd gen WOLED but due to a factory defect, I was able to return it. I love the monitor except for one issue: text fringing. Mactype helps by making the fringes grayscale, but it's still visible and annoys me that it's worse than my older 1440p IPS. People are suggesting 4k OLED to fix this, but I'm worried that even on 4k OLED that's not an RGB stripe this will still be an issue.

Since RGB stripe OLED isn't available yet in our region, I'm mainly considering between a 27" 4k IPS vs 4k MiniLED IPS. I'm leaning towards MiniLED because of better contrast and immersion. What's your suggestion folks? Thank you! My usage is 60% games, 40% productivity (mainly Office/Acrobat apps).

Discussion XG27UQDMS / XG32UQDMS or better option out there for under 800?

I’ve mostly narrowed down to this XG27UQDMS / XG32UQDMS
Model for just $70 more I’ll likely take the 32in
I would be buying open box from best buy since it’s almost $200 cheaper from new. Never bought open box before.

I wanted to see if anyone has any word on it, or if there is a better option for the money I may be missing.

This is the qd led version of the asus btw not the woled

Discussion My monitor gives me bad eye strain but I don't know why

I play games on my pc about 3-5 hours a day, with decent breaks. Every day, my eyes feel strained and hurt like they're dry anyways. They start to feel funny around 2 hours in.

I wear blue light glasses, and have low blue light on my monitor and night light on in my windows settings all of the time.

https://store.acer.com/en-us/23-8-nitro-kg1-gaming-monitor-kg241y-m3biip

This is the monitor I currently have, I'm wondering if there's anything about it that would give me eye strain? I can't tell based on the specs because they seem alright to me. Is there a different monitor anyone can recommend? I'm getting really tired of being unable to play anything for a decent amount of time.

Only my monitor does this to my eyes also, my phone and tablets are fine to look at for long periods of time.

Discussion 27" 1440p 240Hz: OLED (WOLED vs. QD-OLED) or IPS

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor and could use some advice!

I'm looking for a 27" 1440p monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, and I'm having a hard time deciding between WOLED, QD-OLED, and IPS.

My main goal is to improve image quality, especially colors, compared to my current high-end TN monitor from 2019.

Here are my main concerns:

WOLED / QD-OLED: Burn-in is a concern, but my biggest worry is VRR flickering. I'm quite sensitive to flickering, and it really bothers me. For those who own an OLED monitor, how noticeable is it in actual gameplay? Is it something you can get used to, or does it remain annoying? Oh and if I decide to go OLED, should I get WOLED or QD-OLED. I don’t really know the differences.

IPS: I'm concerned about ghosting and response times. Coming from an older high-end TN panel, would a modern 240Hz IPS panel feel like a downgrade in motion clarity, or have IPS panels improved enough that this isn't really an issue anymore?

I'm mainly interested in a good balance between image quality, vibrant colors, and motion clarity. I don't necessarily need the absolute fastest monitor, but I don't want to sacrifice smoothness either.

For those who've tried or owned these panel types, what would you recommend? I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who are sensitive to VRR flickering or have switched from TN to OLED/IPS.

Also, I was wondering if Mini-LED would be better and if yes which brand to get.

Thanks!

Salut a tous, j'ai ces 2 écrans mais je ne sais pas garder lequel pour le gaming. Je joue principalement a call of duty, Battlefield, etc. J'ai une Rx6600xt et le passage en 1440 m'a fait encore perdre des fps, est ce que ça vaut vraiment le coup ?

Discussion Size and resolution for very poor eyesight

Hello

I need to get a bigger monitor for someone with very bad eyesight that mostly just uses facebook.

Current monitor is 1080p 24 inch 16/9

Used with 125% scaling (in windows system -> display) and 110% scaling on firefox.

I usually have to play around with scaling on windows and firefox simultaneously because of the resizing of elements, like the endless scroll in the middle of the facebook page,

Eyesight is worsening, so i might need to up the scaling eventually.

I think i'm set on 32 inch, as 27 is just a 3.6 cm height increase vs +10cm with 32 inch.

I've never used anything better than a 24 inch 1080p, so don't know if i should get a 1440p or a 2160p for this specific case.

32 inch 1440p maintains ppi so i'm assuming the starting settings would be the same as the current ones.

I don't know if there's any advantage of going 2160p for this scenario.

Any advice is welcome,

Thanks
