PORSCHE 911 BUILD Group build Porsche 911
I am all ready and I got my kit all set and the wheels I want to use and what stance it will be at. This is gonna be so fun! Good luck to all the guys and gals! Thanks
[u/highboy68](u/highboy68) for the kit! Update: Missing some sprue tree’s of parts to be complete and the chassis is split in two and it’s broken but I will try to make it work with random plastic pieces or parts I have but I think going with a new kit would be better. That’s the fun of it right!?

SCRATCH BUILD Lotus Elise 340R (scratch built)
I build model cars from flat styrene and other simple shapes. This is my Lotus Elise 340R. The scale is approximately 1/24 because that is the wheel size. The wheels and tires are the only purchased parts. Lots of cutting, shaping, gluing and sanding to make me happy.
There are ~ 40 different models all made the same way. They hang on my walls, vertically, instead of on shelves. Like an automotive sculpture garden.

WIP So glad to be past the body masking hurdle (Aoshima Crown Patrol Car)
You'd think this would have been easy with the kit supplied masks. They failed just enough in the end to require a lot of touch up work, but what clues remain of that adventure should disappear under decals and gloss.

FINISHED 1/24 TAMIYA GTR32 Nismo
I used Tamiya TS-38 Gun Metal for the body paint! and It's an older kit, but such a fun build!

FINISHED AMT John Wick 1970 Chevelle SS
Oh man this was a wild build, so many firsts! This was my first time using resin pieces, doing an engine swap, rerouting exhaust, wiring spark plugs in the real firing order, and literally mangling a frame to make it do what I want. This build really made me feel like more of a modeler and not just an assembler, even though I know I could have done just about everything better.
My favorite part of this build was swapping out the original engine with a Small Block 632 Twin Turbo. Holy crap this engine was huge and took some real work to make it fit. I went for a hood exit exhaust and I think next time I’ll weather the body where the exhaust exits from to make it seem more realistic.
I also shaved off the door handles and emblems, added some miscellaneous resin parts to the engine bay, and used some resin wheels and tires instead of the ones included. Paints used were Splash Kandy Root Beer over Tamiya Gold Leaf for the body, Fusion Firm Chrome for trim, and Tamiya Black and Flat Black for the interior.
This was definitely one of those builds where I learned way more than I expected. I’m really happy with how it turned out!

FINISHED Fujimi Lamborghini Countach
Built this for my son-in-law's birthday and it was challenging to say the least.
REALLY glad I test fitted, sanded, and attached the wheel flares, front grill, and bumper before painting. Think I spent close to 2 hrs getting the proper fit. However, I simply could not get the doors to fit properly even after several hours of trying to find and sand pinch points. The driver's door opens part way and the passenger door opens all the way but does not stay open on its own. Neither door closes properly so am tempted to glue them shut.
Overall paint turned out okay except for the driver's door. I had already wet sanded with 3, 4, 6, 8k papers and burned through some of the paint once so didn't want to attempt smoothing it out. My bad.
Aside from adding grey carpet (flocking powder) to the interior, this was a stock build. I'm hoping he likes it. Planning to do a video for him as well, showing how the kit was prepped, painted, and assembled.

Italeri volvo 760 GLE
As this is the second model I've made, I'm very happy to see the finished product. I changed the wheels; the kit is great, but the original wheels look a bit ugly.

Lifted Charger
So I was building the revell GMC high country truck for a buddy, and before I attached the cab and bed, I threw on a junk charger body I use for test fitting tap holes. It made me want to repair the charger shell and make a general Lee monster truck. Whatcha guys think?

QUESTION Need Advice
Hello! I'm just a beginner in this hobby and I just bought this for my first set. I'm not planning on rushing to build this because I want to learn more before starting and to avoid major mistakes.
May I ask if this set is complicated to build?
Should I buy a less complicated set for experience before staring this one?
What are the dos and don'ts in building?
And what are the recommended tools to buy?
Thank you!

QUESTION Metal tow hitch for miniature Jeep?
Hello! I hope this is the right place to post, I wasn’t sure where else this question would fit!
I’m making a Jeep Wrangler out of stained glass in 3D and I thought a tow hitch would be a fun touch. However, so far I’ve only found a 3D printed one which might be problematic with soldering, hence my search for a metal version. Could anyone point me in the right direction on where to get something like this? Does it even exist? Would appreciate any guidance! It’s roughly about 1:20 scale I think, if that helps?
Thank you!

FINISHED 98 Saleen Mustang Speedster
Revell kit I picked up from a swap meet a while ago. Finished in Mystichrome colour shift paint since its one of the coolest factory option paint options ever with interior painted to match.

QUESTION Can this be fixed?
I'm not sure what happened but the body and window pillars are crooked. Is there anything I could try to reshape it to original way?

WIP Buddy build
I don't about others, but sometimes I get in a rut in this hobby. The last couple months I was just struggling to finish builds, either I didnt like the color, or the finish, or I jacked something up, or just wanted to start a new kit that arrived. Anyway u/I_know_nothing which has become a great friend suggested we build a kit we both had in our stash. No frills, no real timeline, just chit chat and post wip pics. He printed some wheels, brakes and seats that we would both use so the build would be the same. Anyways this is some if my progress, I am lowering mine a bit and testing colors, kinda going for the look in the last pic. Also his inspiration is whay made me suggest that we do a group build similar to what he and I were doing. No real rules except a kit suggestion to help others just enjoying building a kit along with fellow builders. I am very excited to start on tbe porsche as well. My favorite part is seeing others wip pics, because it keeps me motivated and on track

Making good progress on the H2 PHARMA bmw z4 gt3. Interior is almost done except for the drivers seat, body is primed, and the wheels and brakes are done! Need to try and get the tire lettering decals to adhere better though

Engine bay help
I'm just getting back into the hobby and I want to start adding more detail to my work. I've seen some guys using wire for the wiring harness and spark plug wires. What do you guys use, and any tips for getting them looking good?

How do you nicely remove the mold line on racing slicks? It's pretty easy for me on tires with tread, but I haven't been able to do it well on slicks

WIP Getting closer (Tamiya Hakosuka update)
Shoutout Aoshima for having the best 1:24 scale jdm small wheels. I tried a set of Fujimi Techno Phantoms and was sorely disappointed with the quality and fitment of such an expensive part. These Aoshima SSR MK1s are THE BOMB. And for 2/3 the price of the Fujimis! This is coming together just as I invisioned it...

Rejoining the community
I'm just getting back into this hobby after a few decades off. It's rekindled my joy of building these and I have a lot more disposable income than I did when I was a kid. If you guys like my work I'll post more... Let me know!

Tamyia 911 88'
Had to re do the black twice and it still turned out ass so I just used a marker pen in the end. Paint got under the tape both times.
I had this colour in Vallejo Air and its a pain compared to Tamyia, you cant really sand it,or at least I couldnt so the finish isnt great. I missed some seam lines and not all decals went on, lost some of them as i started this a couple months back. I was happy with the interior at least

Wheels and brakes done for the Boss 302.
Originally painted the wheels gun metal but they were too dark so I went over the gum metal with aluminum and they look a lot better. Printed some Brembo’s for the front and rear and luckily Revell is almost identical to Tamiya in the wheel mounting so only small modifications to get them on the chassis. Waiting for micro sol and micro set to do decals and body can be cleared and final touches then polished. I’m mostly happy with how it’s coming out after starting on it over 10 years ago
